A cam angle mounting structure includes a cylinder head, a sensor bracket and a head cover. The cylinder head is configured and arranged to rotatably support a camshaft. The sensor bracket is configured and arranged to support a cam angle sensor. The sensor bracket is mounted on the cylinder head with the sensor bracket contacting the cylinder head. The head cover is non-rigidly mounted on the cylinder head and the sensor bracket via at least one gasket to cover a top opening of the cylinder head with a space being formed around the at least one gasket between the head cover and the cylinder head and between the head cover and the sensor bracket.

Cam angle sensor mounting structure

A cylinder head structure for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine that is mounted on a vehicle so that a cylinder alignment direction goes along a front-rear direction of the vehicle comprises a cylinder head side wall, an upper deck, and a rib. The cylinder head side wall projects on a periphery of the cylinder head and is provided along the cylinder alignment direction. The upper deck is formed on the cylinder head so as to be positioned between portions of the cylinder head side wall, wherein the upper deck further includes an oil return hole formed near a portion of the cylinder head side wall. The rib extends in a width direction of the cylinder head and is formed on the upper deck in a rear side of the oil return hole.

Cylinder head structure for a multi-cylinder internal combustion engine

A valve train for an internal combustion engine is comprised of a lubricating oil, and a camshaft which is made of an iron-based material and comprises a cam lobe and a camshaft journal. The camshaft slidingly moves on a counterpart thereof through the lubricating oil. A hard carbon film is formed on at least one of a sliding portion of the camshaft and the counterpart made of an iron-based material. A hydrogen amount of the hard carbon film is 10 atomic percent or less.

Valve train for internal combustion engine

A wear resistant sintered member exhibits superior wear resistance at the same level as those of the conventional materials without using a Co-based hard phase is provided. A first hard phase comprising Mo silicide particles dispersed in an Fe-based alloy matrix of the first hard phase and a second hard phase comprising a ferrite phase or a mixed phase of ferrite and austenite having a higher Cr concentration than the Fe-based alloy matrix surrounding a core consisting of Cr carbide particles, are diffused in an Fe-based alloy matrix, the Mo silicide particles are contained in the first hard phase in an amount of 3 to 25 % by area, and the Cr carbide particles are contained in the second hard phase in an amount of 3 to 30 % by area.
