A connector fitting device for fitting a female connector to a male connector includes a movable arm body connected to a base on a base end side of the movable arm body and a gripper connected to a distal end side of the movable arm body. The connector fitting device is configured to move the gripper to an arbitrary position in a three-dimensional space and in an arbitrary direction in the three-dimensional space. The movable arm body includes a device main body, a first arm, a second arm, and a third arm.

A board-mounting connector includes a cylindrical terminal and a housing holding the cylindrical terminal. The cylindrical terminal includes a cylindrical portion in contact with a mating terminal, a contact portion extending in a direction intersecting a fitting direction so as to be connected to a circuit board, and an intermediate portion supported by the housing between the cylindrical portion and the contact portion. The cylindrical portion includes a slit defined, by bending a plate-shaped conductor into a cylindrical shape and abutting one edge portion thereof against another edge portion thereof, between the one edge portion and the other edge portion. Further, the slit is formed such that a slit tip end portion located on a mating terminal side of the cylindrical portion and a slit base end portion located on an intermediate portion side thereof are located at offset positions in a peripheral direction of the cylindrical portion.

A board-mounted connector () includes plural terminals () and a housing () holding the terminals. The housing has, on its wall surface (), a pair of first holding portions () each covered with an inner surface of each of a pair of hood portions (), and a second holding portion () located more distant from a circuit board () than the first holding portions. The terminals include a pair of first terminals () held by the first holding portions, and a second terminal () held by the second holding portion. The second terminal has an intermediate portion () between a holding target portion () held by the second holding portion and a contact portion () to be connected to the circuit board. The intermediate portion is press-fitted in a gap (S) between respective outer surfaces () of the hood portions.

A terminal reception chamber () of a connector () includes a first chamber (A), a second chamber (B) and a third chamber (C). The connector includes a first housing () defining a mating terminal insertion hole (), a second housing () defining the first chamber and the second chambers and attached to the first housing, and a third housing () defining the third chambers and attached to the first housing and the second housing to contact with the first housing and the second housing and to inseparably connect the first housing and the second housing.

A terminal contact portion () of a female terminal () includes: a bottom plate (); a first side plate () and a second side plate (); a top plate () continuously bent from the first side plate (); an elastic piece () bent to be overlaid on the top plate () at an elastic piece bent portion () corresponding to an end portion of the top plate () along a terminal lengthwise direction; a pair of engaging projections () provided to project in a bent edge portion of the elastic piece (); and a pair of engaging holes () formed in the first side plate () correspondingly to the engaging projections ().

Female terminal

A connector () is provided with a connector housing () which is formed to be divided into a connector section () with a terminal accommodation chamber () formed therein, and a connector cover section (), and in which the connector section () and the connector cover section () are integrated with each other by being slide-fitted to each other. A spacer () which is locked to the connector housing () at a temporary locking position and a final locking position penetrates the connector section () and the connector cover section (), thereby restricting movements of the connector section () and the connector cover section () in a slide fitting release direction (E), whereby the connector housing () is integrally retained.

Connector

A connector housing includes a terminal accommodating chamber, a lance and a pair of arms. The terminal accommodating chamber is formed with an opening configured such that a terminal is inserted therethrough. The lance extends from a top wall of the terminal accommodating chamber toward the opening in an extending direction. The pair of arms are respectively formed integrally to both lateral side surfaces of the lance, extend from both the lateral side surfaces to front and back sides of the lance in the extending direction, and are connected to a bottom wall of the terminal accommodating chamber. An unlocking protrusion is formed in one of the arms.

A connector housing includes a terminal receiving chamber and a pair of lances for locking the terminal on both sides of the terminal receiving chamber. A terminal pullout jig inserted into the connector housing displaces the lances to respective unlocking positions, thus pulling out the terminal from the terminal receiving chamber. The connector housing includes a pair of unlocking wall portions configured to be elastically deformed integrally with the pair of lances respectively. The terminal pullout jig includes an unlocking arm portion configured to displace the pair of the lances to the respective unlocking positions, and a terminal pressing portion for pressing the terminal in a terminal pullout direction.

A terminal locking structure for locking a terminal in a terminal accommodation chamber of a connector housing, the terminal locking structure comprises: a locking lance configured to lock the terminal to prevent the terminal from coming off from the terminal accommodation chamber, the locking lance being bendable in a direction intersecting the insertion direction of the terminal into the terminal accommodation chamber; and a flexible arm bendable in the direction intersecting the insertion direction of the terminal into the terminal accommodation chamber together with the locking lance, the flexible arm being formed extending from a front end of the locking lance to the insertion opening side provided for a corresponding terminal in the terminal accommodation chamber and being connected to an inner wall of the terminal accommodation chamber.
