A tactile stimulus presentation device includes a stage, a contact member, a drive mechanism, an information setting part, and a control part. The stage includes an opening and an arrangement surface, the arrangement surface on which a body part of a subject is arranged thereon so as to close the opening. The contact member is for giving a tactile stimulus to the subject by being in contact with the body part of the subject arranged on the arrangement surface of the stage through the opening. The drive mechanism is a mechanism for holding the contact member and moving the contact member in a direction substantially parallel to the arrangement surface and in a direction substantially perpendicular to the arrangement surface. The present invention provides a preprocessing device of a more compact structure, and an analysis system provided with the same. A preprocessing device () includes a container holding section (), a filtration port (), and a transport arm (). The container holding section () holds a separation container () and a collection container (). The filtration port () separates a sample by applying pressure to a sample in the separation container (). The transport arm () transports the separation container () and the collection container () held by the container holding section () from a predetermined transport position. The container holding section () holds the separation container () and the collection container () in an annular or arch-shaped holding region formed on an outer circumference of the filtration port (), and sequentially moves the separation container () and the collection container () to the transport position by shifting the separation container () and the collection container () in the circumferential direction of the holding region.

A capillary unit includes a reservoir capable of retaining a liquid. A capillary having a linear shape has one end secured on a bottom-end portion of the reservoir. The capillary extends from the bottom-end portion in a direction away from an opening of the reservoir. A nozzle connector is provided between a bottom of the reservoir and the one end of the capillary, and provides liquid-tight removable connection with a nozzle for injecting the liquid into the capillary from a portion adjacent to the reservoir.

Pre-processing machine for sampling

In an electrophoresis method, a capillary plate having a capillary channel is maintained in a predetermined temperature to be processed, and a sample is filled into the capillary channel. A solution is prepared to have a temperature substantially the same as the predetermined temperature of the capillary plate, and the solution is injected into the capillary channel maintained in the predetermined temperature. Voltage is applied between two ends of the capillary channel to perform electrophoresis of the sample.

For automating the operation of an electrophoresis apparatus and improving the throughput, the present electrophoresis apparatus has two platens capable of controlling temperature of electrophoresis plates placed thereon, a loading medium charging unit for sending a loading medium under pressure, a loading medium charging nozzle mechanism having a pair of nozzles connected to the loading medium charging unit, a pipetter mechanism for dispensing samples to sample dispensing openings of the electrophoresis plates placed on the platens, a stacker mechanism for storing sample plates, a loading buffer solution supplying mechanism, a loading buffer solution dispensing mechanism connected to the loading buffer solution supplying mechanism, a power unit for allowing electrophoresis separation for each electrophoresis plate placed on the platens, and a detector for optically detecting components migrating through each electrophoresis flow channel of the electrophoresis plates.

An electrode plate of a sample plate is set on the body of an electrophoretic apparatus, while a plug is inserted into a migration high voltage line connection hole and connected to a high-tension distribution cable. Each well of a base plate is inserted into a through hole of a well guide and further press-fit and engaged into a cavity of an electrode plate, for fixing the base plate to the electrode plate. Thereafter a sample is introduced into each well of the base plate and an end of a capillary column is dipped into each well for applying a migration voltage and electrophoretically injecting the sample into the capillary column.

A component analyzing apparatus includes a microchip having a fine separating flow path for separating components when a sample solution labeled with fluorescence passes therethrough. A light irradiation device is arranged to irradiate light to a predetermined area of the microchip at a predetermined angle so that the proximity field light irradiates at least a portion of the separating flow path of the microchip. A light detecting device is disposed above the microchip to receive the fluorescence discharged from the sample solution labeled with fluorescence present in the separating flow path with the proximity field light generated from light irradiated by the light irradiating device as excitation light.

An electrophoretic apparatus which can analyze multiple tests specimens and being comprised of an electrophoretic member having a relatively simple configuration of passages, such that one or a plurality of passages are formed inside a plate-shaped member therein in which holes are formed connecting to the passages at positions corresponding to the ends of each passage, a voltage application part for applying a voltage across the passages, a detector part for detecting a specimen within the passage and an electrophoretic-member holding part for holding a plurality of the electrophoretic members so as to provide for simultaneous electrophoretic operations.

Electrophoretic apparatus

A microfluidic device includes a base member, a separating channel, and a sample quantity control channel branching from the separating channel. The separating channel has one end projecting from the base member, and the one end forms a sample introduction portion. The other end of the separating channel and a forward end of the sample quantity control channel have opening and closing mechanisms, respectively. A capacity of the sample quantity control channel corresponds to a sample quantity to be injected.

Microfluidic device and analyzing method using the same

A micro array chip is formed by high-speed in jection molding. A chip body has a thickness of 1 mm and each well has a capacity of 1.2 &mgr;L with the bottom having a wall thickness of 250 &mgr;m. An opening of each well is surrounded by an annular protrusion part, which is raised from a surface of the chip body by a height of 200 &mgr;m. The openings of wells may be closed with a sheet of sealant made of aluminum or a resin. An overall shape of the micro array chip is rectangular and is a flat plate with a level bottom surface. Therefore, the micro array chip can be used with a heat block in flat plate form, which is independent of chip specifications such as a number of wells and their shape.

A capillary cassette is made up of two separated holders, an array of capillaries and a tube. The capillaries that make up the array are inserted into the first holder, extend through second holder having a detection window and then the capillary array is aligned and then bundled and inserted into a heat shrinkable tube which covers positions to which filler is applied, the tube is heated and shrunk to bundle them in an airtight manner and inserted into a mounting member.
