A printing apparatus includes: a receiver that externally receives a power-off command; a job execution portion that executes a job; a burden information obtaining portion that obtains burden information upon receipt of the power-off command by the receiver, the burden information relating to a burden to be imposed on a system of the printing apparatus for executing one or more jobs in a queue stored on the printing apparatus; and a processor that performs either of the following operations depending on the burden information obtained by the burden information obtaining portion: turning off the printing apparatus after making the job execution portion execute at least one, or all of the one or more jobs in the queue; and turning off the printing apparatus without making the job execution portion execute any job in the queue.

The present invention provides a technique capable of generating and providing information in which various elements are associated with one another in accordance with situations. An information processing system has a server and a plurality of terminals. The present invention provides an update detecting apparatus capable of properly extracting an important update. The update detecting apparatus includes a difference extracting unit, a morphological analyzing unit, and an update determining unit. The difference extracting unit extracts the difference between text data included in a server-side file and text data included in a cache file. The morphological analyzing unit divides the difference extracted by the difference extracting unit into words (morphemes) and generates a word group. The update determining unit determines that an update is performed in the server-side file when a word satisfying a predetermined condition is included in the word group generated by the morphological analyzing unit.

A method is provided that can conduct accurate correspondence of images in measuring an object based on images obtained by plural cameras so that measurement of the object is conducted precisely. The method includes the steps of capturing plural images by plural cameras, using an image in a photographing area common to the images, ex. image information obtained from an area that is set as a specific area to set camera parameters, using the set camera parameters to photograph the same photographing areas as those when the camera parameters are set so as to capture images anew, the photographing being performed by the plural cameras, determining corresponding points in the newly captured images, and obtaining three-dimensional information of the object included in a photographing area.

Method for measuring object based on image and photographing apparatus

One-dimensional line data is produced based upon an evaluation area in image data obtained by imaging the area the slit light beam is irradiated. Each point data value included in the line data is obtained based upon each pixel value in a pixel array arranged in a Y-axis direction having the same X coordinates in the evaluation area. The point data value in the line data depends upon the result of the difference between the pixel values of the adjacent pixels in the pixel array. The affect by the reflected light of the slit light beam from the surface of the moving object is offset between the adjacent pixels, so that it is not reflected on the point data value. The point data value corresponding to the blocked state and the point data value corresponding to the non-blocked state can be made clearly different from each other.
