A planar light source includes a substrate, light sources, and at least one partitioning member. The partitioning member includes first wall parts, second wall parts, and partitioned regions. The first wall parts define first ridges extending in a first direction. The second wall parts define second ridges extending in a second direction. The partitioned regions each is surrounded by the first ridges and the second ridges in a plan view. the partitioned regions are arranged in the first and second directions. At least one first cut is defined on at least one of the first ridges. At least one second cut is defined on at least one of the second ridges. The at least one first cut and the at least one second cut are spaced apart from each other. At least one of the light sources is arranged in a corresponding one of the partitioned regions.

A light emitting device includes: a resin package including: a resin part, and a plurality of leads including a first lead and a second lead, wherein the resin package has a concave portion having a bottom face at which a part of an upper surface of the first lead and a part of an upper surface of the second lead are exposed from the resin part; a light emitting element mounted on the bottom face of the concave portion; and a sealing member covering the light emitting element in the concave portion. A planar light source has a plurality of light sources, a substrate, and a partitioning member. The partitioning member includes a first member provided with first partitioned parts each having a first bottom part and first oblique parts surrounding the first bottom part that are arranged on the substrate in a matrix, and a second member provided with second partitioned parts each having a second bottom part and second oblique parts surrounding the second bottom part that are arranged on the substrate in a matrix. The first member further has first outer oblique parts overlapping the second oblique parts located along the outer edge of the second member on the first member side. The first bottom parts and the second bottom parts each have a light source disposition opening, and the light sources are individually disposed on the substrate exposed in the light source disposition openings.

A method for manufacturing a light emitting device according to the present invention includes: providing an intermediate member including: a support member including: housing portions, the housing portions having first recessed portion(s) each having a lateral wall and a bottom surface, and a coupling portion located between adjacent ones of the housing portions and having a height lower than a height of the lateral wall with reference to the bottom surface of the first recessed portion, a light source mounted on the bottom surface of the first recessed portion, and an encapsulant disposed in the first recessed portion; and forming a first light-transmissive member continuously covering the housing portions and the coupling portion. An inclined surface of the first light-transmissive member has a height above the coupling portion is lower than a height above the housing portions with reference to the bottom surface of the first recessed portion.

Method for manufacturing light emitting device, light emitting device, and light emitting module

A light source device includes light sources arranged on a substrate in a matrix, and a reflective member. The reflective member includes first walls respectively surrounding the light sources, and defining first regions, and second walls located on an outer side of the first walls, and defining second regions each having an opening facing outside of the reflective member. The reflective member defines a pair of first sides parallel to one of a vertical direction and a lateral direction in a plan view, the pair of first sides being constituted by a part of the reflective member including at least one of the first walls and the first regions, and a second side inclined or curved with respect to the pair of first sides, the second side being constituted by a part of the reflective member including at least one of the second walls and the second regions.

Light source device

A planar light source includes a substrate, light sources, and a partitioning member. The partitioning member defines partitioned regions arranged in a first direction and in a second direction that intersects the first direction. At least one of the light sources is arranged in a corresponding one of the partitioned regions. The partitioning member includes a plurality of first wall parts defining a plurality of first ridges extending in the first direction, and a plurality of second wall parts defining a plurality of second ridges extending in the second direction. The first wall parts define at least one first cut on at least one of the first ridges. At least one of the partitioned regions is surrounded by the first ridges and the second ridges in a plan view and includes an opposing pair of the first wall parts and an opposing pair of the second wall parts.

A light emitting device includes a substrate, a plurality of light sources, a partitioning member, a light transmissive member, a plurality of reflecting portions. The light sources are arranged on the substrate. Each of the light sources has a light emitting diode. The partitioning member includes a plurality of wall portions defining a plurality of sections respectively surrounding at least one of the light sources, the wall portions including top portions. The light transmissive member is arranged above the light sources. The plurality of reflecting portions are arranged on a lower surface of the light transmissive member. Lower surfaces of the reflecting portions are positioned lower than apexes of the top portions of the wall portions of the partitioning member.

Light emitting device

A light source device includes a plurality of light sources, a substrate on which the light sources are arranged, and a reflective member arranged on the substrate via an adhesive member. The reflective member defines a plurality of through holes. The light sources are respectively disposed inside the through holes in a plan view. The adhesive member is light-reflective.

A surface light source includes a plurality of light sources, a substrate, a first member disposed on the substrate and including a plurality of recessed first demarcating portions each including a first inclined portion and a first bottom portion and one or more recessed second demarcating portions each including a second inclined portion and a first opening, and a second member overlying a portion of the first member and including a third inclined portion overlapping with the second inclined portion, a fourth inclined portion adjacent to the third inclined portion and not overlapping with the second inclined portion, a second bottom portion located inside the first opening, and a third bottom portion continuous with a lower end of the fourth inclined portion, and the plurality of light sources being respectively disposed on the substrate exposed in the first bottom portion, the second bottom portion, and the third bottom portion.

A light source device includes a plurality of light sources arranged in a matrix, a substrate, and a reflective member. The reflective member includes first walls defining a first region entirely surrounded by the first walls in a plan view, and second walls located on an outer side of the first walls, the second walls defining a second region having an opening facing outside of the reflective member and a third region. An area of the second region is greater than an area of the third region in the plan view. The light sources are disposed respectively in the first region and in the second region while none of the light sources is disposed in the third region.

A light emitting device includes a substrate, a demarcating member and a light-diffusing plate. The substrate has a plurality of light sources. The demarcating member includes a plurality of wall parts defining a plurality of compartments respectively corresponding to the light sources with each of the light sources being surrounded by corresponding ones of the wall parts defining a single compartment. Each of the wall parts include a ridge part and an inclined surface part. A method of manufacturing a light emitting device having a resin package which provides an optical reflectivity equal to or more than 70% at a wavelength between 350 nm and 800 nm after thermal curing, and in which a resin part and a lead are formed in a substantially same plane in an outer side surface, includes a step of sandwiching a lead frame provided with a notch part, by means or an upper mold and a lower mold, a step of transfer-molding a thermosetting resin containing a light reflecting material in a mold sandwiched by the upper mold and the lower mold to form a resin-molded body in the lead frame and a step of cutting the resin-molded body and the lead frame along the notch part.

A light emitting device includes a substrate, a plurality of light sources, a partitioning member and a diffuser panel. The light sources are arranged on the substrate. Each of the light sources has a light emitting diode. The partitioning member includes a plurality of wall portions defining a plurality of sections respectively surrounding at least one of the light sources. The wall portions include top portions. The diffuser panel is arranged above the light sources. The diffuser panel defines a plurality of grooves respectively accommodating the top portions of the partitioning member.

A light emitting device including a molded package having leads including a pair of a first lead and a second lead, a molded resin, and a recess, where an upper surface of the leads is partially exposed from a bottom surface of the recess. The device further including a light emitting component mounted on the bottom surface, and at least one sealing member located in the recess to cover the light emitting component. At least one of the first lead and the second lead has a groove on an upper surface thereof, where the groove is positioned so as to correspond to a corner on the bottom surface of the recess in a cross sectional view. A portion of the molded resin located within the groove is exposed from the bottom surface. A surface of the corner is composed of a curved surface, and the sealing member covers the corner.

A light source device includes a plurality of light sources arranged in a matrix, a substrate, and a reflective member. The reflective member includes first walls defining a first region entirely surrounded by the first walls in a plan view, and second walls located on an outer side of the first walls, the second walls defining a second region and a third region each only partially surrounded by the second walls in the plan view such that an area of the second region is equal to or greater than a half of an area of the first region and an area of the third region is less than the half of the area of the first region in the plan view. The light sources are disposed respectively in the first region and in the second region while none of the light sources is disposed in the third region.
