Certain aspects of the present disclosure provide techniques that may be used to help enable low latency communications between a user equipment (UE) and a base station (BS) using quick uplink channels that enable a reduced transmission time interval (TTI). An example method generally includes identifying a plurality of slots in a subframe, receiving a resource configuration for an uplink channel, wherein the resource configuration is associated with a first slot of the plurality of slots, determining a resource for transmitting the uplink channel in a second slot of the plurality of slots, wherein the resource is determined based on the resource configuration associated with the first slot of the plurality of slots, and transmitting the uplink channel in the second slot using the determined resource.

Uplink channel design for slot-based transmission time interval (TTI)

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. The described techniques generally support downlink transmissions. For example, a user equipment (UE) may receive a resource configuration for reception of a downlink transmission within a repetition window, the resource configuration including an indicator of a repetition window size for the downlink transmission. The UE may monitor, according to the resource configuration, one or more transmission time intervals (TTIs) of the repetition window for reception of the downlink transmission. In some cases, the downlink transmission may be a grant-free downlink transmission. Here, the UE may attempt to decode the grant-free downlink transmission during the one or more TTIs based at least in part on the repetition window size. Using the described techniques, the UE may efficiently determine one or more decoding parameters for the grant-free downlink transmission, thereby providing benefits in terms of latency reduction, power consumption, etc.

Grant-free downlink transmission

Full-duplex communication techniques are described. Some aspects may utilize full-duplex-slot formats, such as may be provided in addition to or in the alternative to uplink, downlink, and flexible slot formats. A full-duplex slot implemented in accordance with a full-duplex-slot format provides a slot in which the frequency band may be used for both uplink and downlink transmissions. Downlink and/or uplink transmissions of a full-duplex slot may occur in overlapping frequency bands or in adjacent frequency bands. A first wireless device may transmit slot signaling comprising one or more full-duplex-slot-indicator parameters. A second wireless device may base one or more full-duplex slot configuration determinations on a full-duplex-slot configuration. The second wireless device may apply one or more full-duplex-slot-indicator-parameter rules with respect to full-duplex-slot-indicator parameters for determining a full-duplex-slot format. Other aspects and features are also claimed and described.

Full duplex communication techniques

Aspects described herein relate to determining whether full duplex (FD) communications are configured during resources for communicating one or more messages of a random access procedure, where the FD communications comprising uplink communications and downlink communications occurring in a same frequency band, and responsive to the determining whether the FD communications are configured during the resources, transmitting the one or more messages of the random access procedure using the resources.

Techniques for performing random access in full duplex wireless communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A receiving device (such as a user equipment (UE)) may receive from a transmitting device (such as a base station), a configuration of full duplex communication resources for a set of slots. The receiving device may receive a pre-emption indication identifying that at least a portion of the full duplex communication resources in one or more slots of the set of slots is unavailable for communication, and may determine a remaining portion of the full duplex communication resources in the one or more slots based on the received pre-emption indication. The receiving device may then communicate with the transmitting device using the remaining portion of the full duplex communication resources.

Pre-emption indication for full duplex communications

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication using various patterns of data and reference signals are described. For example, in a system that supports operation using different duration transmission time intervals (TTIs), a base station may initiate communication with a user equipment (UE) or between two UEs, and UEs may communicate with the base station or with one another using an indicated pattern of data and reference signals. The base station may send a downlink control message indicating a transmission pattern selected from a set of patterns. UEs may identify the pattern based on the indicator and decode a sequence of data and reference signals based on the pattern. In some examples, the sequence may include a set of TTIs, which may have a shorter duration than other TTIs.

Low latency communication

Certain aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to techniques for selecting a base graph to be used for wireless communications. Selection can be based on a variety of factors. Abase graph can be used to derive a low-density parity-check (LDPC) code used for encoding a retransmission of an original transmission. An exemplary method generally includes selecting, based on a modulation and coding scheme (MCS) and a resource allocation (RA) for transmitting a codeword, a base graph (BG), from which to derive a low density parity check (LDPC) code for use in encoding data bits in the codeword (e.g., encoding data bits of a bitstream such that some redundant bits are included in the codeword), encoding the data bits to generate the codeword using the LDPC code derived from the selected BG, and transmitting the codeword using the MCS via resources of the

Various aspects of the present disclosure generally relate to wireless communication. In some aspects, a user equipment (UE) may receive downlink control information (DCI) that schedules an uplink communication in an uplink frequency band. The UE may transmit, at an uplink frequency within the uplink frequency band, the uplink communication with a power that varies over the uplink frequency band based at least in part on a location of the uplink frequency relative to a downlink frequency band associated with the UE. Uplink power control for full duplex communication

Handling of asynchronous multi-carrier is discussed. In new radio (NR) fifth generation (5G) networks, the potential for provision of multi-carrier operations (e.g., carrier aggregation (CA), dual connectivity (DC), etc.) that include asynchronous component carriers (CCs) has been proposed. However, because of the asynchronous relationship network entities, such as base stations and user equipments (UEs) will manage the asynchronous CCs by obtaining timing offset information, either through derivation or direct signaling, and determining a subframe correspondence based on the timing offset relative to a reference CC. By determining the subframe correspondence to the reference CC, the base stations and UEs can accurately map communications over the asynchronous CCs to the appropriate subframes across CCs.

Aspects relate to adaptation of the modulation and coding scheme (MCS) of a downlink transmission to a scheduled entity that overlaps in time with an uplink transmission from the scheduled entity when the scheduled entity is operating in a full-duplex mode. A transport block corresponding to the downlink transmission may include a plurality of code block groups (CBGs). When at least a portion of the CBGs overlap in time with the uplink transmission, the MCS of the entire transport block or the MCS of the overlapping CBGs may be adjusted to accommodate and/or mitigate interference between downlink and uplink transmissions. The CBGs may further be time-interleaved over a plurality of symbols allocated for the downlink transmission to accommodate and/or mitigate interference between downlink and uplink transmissions. Other aspects, features, and embodiments are also claimed and described.

Modulation and coding scheme (MCS) adaptation in full-duplex mode

Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communications are described. A frequency band configuration for a full-duplex slot may be indicated, where a frequency band configuration may include one or more downlink frequency bands and one or more uplink frequency bands. In some cases, a frequency band configuration may also include one or more guard bands. A user equipment (UE) may determine the frequency band configuration for a full-duplex slot based on a frequency configuration indication, which may include an index for a table of frequency band configurations, one or more bitmaps, or respective start and length indications for each frequency band. A frequency band configuration may apply to one slot or to multiple slots.

Systems and methods in which one or more wireless communication stations implement duplex-mode remediation to facilitate the signal communication when an issue with respect to self-interference is identified are described. Duplex-mode remediation may be implemented for various communication scenarios, such as for random access phase communications, for communications having different priorities, etc. A wireless communication station may implement one or more changes with respect to the full duplex operation of the wireless communication station based upon determining that an issue with respect to self-interference may be, or is being, experienced, such as to provide for a wireless communication station operating in an in-band full duplex mode to increase interference cancellation and/or to fall back to a sub-band full duplex mode or a half duplex mode, to provide for a wireless communication station operating in a sub-band full duplex mode to increase interference cancellation and/or to fall back to a half duplex mode.

Duplex-mode remediation for self interference

Symbol alignment and power scaling are provided for different length transmission time intervals (TTIs) within predefined boundaries, such as boundaries of a slot of a subframe. Described techniques provide for identifying time and/or frequency resources for one or more TTIs and allocating such resources based on a location within a subframe, pilot signals that may be transmitted using the resources, other processing timelines, or any combination thereof. In some cases, a power allocation for symbols within a TTI may be determined based on the allocated resources for the TTI. Frequency hopping patterns and power scaling for three-symbol TTIs are also provided.

Uplink transmission techniques in low latency wireless communication systems

Various aspects described herein relate to communicating in a wireless network. A resource grant comprising an indicator of whether to transmit a demodulation reference signal (RS) for an uplink control channel or an uplink data channel can be received from a network entity. It can be determined whether to transmit the RS in at least one transmission time interval (TTI) based at least in part on the indicator.

Ultra-low latency LTE reference signal transmission

Control information may be transmitted for different TTI lengths. Different control information for the different TTIs may be transmitted using control channel resources that are established for communication of control information, such as a physical downlink control channel (PDCCH), for example. Control information for a first TTI may be located in a first set of resources, and control information for a second TTI may be located in a second set of resources. The first set of resources may be located within a first search space that may be searched by a user equipment (UE) to identify the first control information. The second set of resources may be located within a second search space that may be searched by the UE to identify the second control information.
