The present invention provides an electrocardiographic monitoring device comprising a device body configured to be attached to a user's chest; a plurality of electrodes provided on the device body; and a controller provided on the device body and connected to the electrodes in order to obtain the user's electrocardiographic signal waveforms. The electrocardiographic monitoring device of the invention can be applied in a blood pressure monitoring system for monitoring a user's blood pressure.

Electrocardiographic monitoring device and blood pressure monitoring system using the same

The present invention provides a carotid blood pressure detection device, comprising: a first sensing unit, a second sensing unit, and a controller connected or coupled to the first sensing unit and the second sensing unit. The first sensing unit is disposed on a subject's neck and adjacent to a first position of the subject's carotid arteries. The second sensing unit is disposed on the subject's neck and adjacent to a second position of the subject's carotid arteries. The controller derives a mean arterial pressure of a section of the subject's carotid arteries that lies between the first position and the second position of the subject's carotid arteries from pulse wave data measured and obtained by the first sensing unit and pulse wave data measured and obtained by the second sensing unit.

Carotid artery blood pressure detecting device

A single-arm micro air-pressure pump device, having an air pump body and a driving unit. The air pump body includes a supporting frame, an air chamber unit coupled to a side of the supporting frame, and a swing arm provided on the air chamber unit. The driving unit is fixed on the supporting frame and has an output shaft. The output shaft is provided with an eccentric shaft and is configured to rotate the eccentric shaft, and the eccentric shaft has an end coupled to the output shaft and an opposite end coupled to the swing arm in order to drive the swing arm into a reciprocating motion between at least a proximal position and a distal position with respect to the air chamber unit. The reciprocating motion pushes a piston unit provided on one end of the swing arm and causes the air output.

Single-arm micro air-pressure pump device

The present invention provides a dynamic measurement device with a blood pressure determination function, comprising: a heartbeat sensing module disposed on the chest area of a user wherein the heartbeat sensing module comprising a heart sound sensor for obtaining heartbeat signals; a pulse sensing module disposed on a limb area of the user, the pulse sensing module comprising a pulse wave sensor for obtaining pulse signals; and a data calculating module for calculating a mean arterial pressure and a value of systolic blood pressure and diastolic blood pressure based on the heartbeat signals and pulse signals. In addition to dynamically monitoring the blood pressure of a user for 24 hours, the present invention can dynamically monitor the heart sounds of the user for 24 hours individually in order to monitor user's physical condition. Therefore, the present invention has important medical meanings.

Dynamic measurement device with a blood pressure determination function

The present invention provides a carotid physiological parameter monitoring system, comprising: an electrocardiographic (ECG) monitoring device, a carotid pulse wave detector, and at least one controller. The ECG monitoring device is disposed on a user's left and right wrists or on the user's chest to obtain ECG waveforms. The carotid pulse wave detector is disposed on the user's neck at a position corresponding to the user's carotid arteries for obtaining carotid pulse waveforms. The controller is provided in at least one of the ECG monitoring device, the carotid pulse wave detector, and a mobile device, wherein the controller is configured to obtain the user's carotid physiological parameter(s) (which may include carotid pulse wave velocity or carotid blood pressure) by calculating with the ECG waveforms and/or the carotid pulse waveforms.

Embodiments of the present disclosure set forth a sensor for detecting a target of interest. One example sensor may comprise an apparatus for binding the target of interest and a draining unit for draining fluid from the apparatus. The apparatus may comprise a substrate, a material disposed on the substrate, and a probe disposed on the material and configured to bind to the target of interest. The probe is configured on the material to scatter light emitted from a light source when the target of interest is bound to the probe.

The first electrode includes a first electron conducting molecule and a first probe. The first probe includes a second electron conducting molecule. A system for compensating a thermal effect is provided and includes a substrate structure and a microcantilever. The substrate structure includes a first piezoresistor. The first piezoresistor is buried in the substrate structure and has a first piezoresistance having a first relation to a first variable temperature. The microcantilever has the thermal effect and a second piezoresistance having a second relation to the first variable temperature, wherein the thermal effect is compensated based on the first and the second relations.

Apparatus with temperature self-compensation and method thereof

The invention discloses a novel compound effective in inactivating viruses and bacteria. The compound, 2-(10-mercaptodecyl)-propanedioic acid or salts thereof, is shown to disrupt, break down or inactivate viruses and bacteria, thus suppressing infection and proliferation thereof in host cells. A method of chemically synthesizing the novel compound is also disclosed.

Compound for inactivating viruses and bacteria and method of making same

A high-precision vortex flow meter includes a blunt body having a predetermined dimension and being arranged inside a fluid channel to serve as a vortex shedder. The vortex flow meter also includes a temperature detecting device for detecting the vortex shedder temperature and a temperature control element for adjusting the vortex shedder temperature. A frequency measuring device is arranged in the downstream section of the blunt body for detecting the vortex shedding frequency. From the measured temperatures of the upstream fluid flow and that of the blunt body, an effective temperature and a temperature ratio are calculated. The kinematic viscosity of the fluid is looked up from database. By using the relationship between the Strouhal number and Reynolds number, the fluid flow rate is calculated. By employing different blunt body temperature, the measurement range of the flow meter can be broadly extended.

High-precision vortex flow meter

A biomolecular sensor system utilizing a transverse propagation wave of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is described. The system comprises: a substrate; a dielectric layer, having a groove therein and standing on top of the substrate; a sensing film layer, sitting at the groove; a pair of prism devices, each resting on one side of the groove and both separating a tunable distance. Besides, the sensor system further comprises a light source, a light detector (a frontend of which connecting to a spectrometer and a backend connecting to a differential amplifier) and a channel with a cover forming inside the groove for the acquisition of the reflected light from the prism devices. Since the sensor system is constructed by exploiting the SPR technique on the transverse propagation, a whole contact surface is under detection (parallel detection) which differentiates it from the traditional method of single-area SPR detection. The sensor system is applicable not only for the far-infrared remote sensing with a transverse distance of several centimeters, but further for the biomedical sensing applications in the miniature sizing and high throughput.

Biomolecular sensor system utilizing a transverse propagation wave of surface plasmon resonance (SPR)

A microarray biochip workstation allowing positioning of chips, immobilization of molecules, mixing of sample solution, molecular interactions and washing and processing qualitative and quantitative analyses consists of a positioning device for holding a biochip, a mixing device for acting on the sample solution applied on the biochip, a pumping device for removing the sample solution from the biochip surface that does not react, and a reading device for detecting reaction results of the biochip. The workstation thus constructed provides an integrated and effective work interface.

Array biochip workstation

A symmetric or asymmetric multilayer structure based on the technique of surface plasmon resonance (SPR) has been applied for modulation of resonant angle and wavelength. The fabrication of this invention can have nanoscale thin film layers up to several hundreds, while each layer has its own material of a high or low refractive index value, and the total layers in a thickness of tens to hundreds nanometers are grown in this single structure. This invention is intended for optimizing the scanning of mechanism by modulating SPR resonant angle and wavelength, and for developing the prospect of portable instruments.

Repeated structure of nanometer thin films with symmetric or asymmetric configuration for SPR signal modulation

A multi-function opto-electronic detection apparatus for detecting molecular characteristics of a test sample. The appratuses comprises functional mode subsystems including a detecting light source subsystem for generating sampling beams for illuminating the test sample; a manipulation optics subsystem for aligning the sampling beam onto the test sample; a target signal processing subsystem for analyzing target beams emerging from the test sample resulting from the illuminating of the sampling beam; and a sample fixation subsystem for holding the test sample. The detecting light source subsystem, manipulation optics subsystem and target signal processing subsystem are assembled into one of several possible optical sampling setups for the detection characteristics of the test sample. The functional mode setups include at least ellispometer, confocal image scanner, photon tunneling scanning microscope and interferometer.

Multi-function opto-electronic detection apparatus

A biological cell test method and apparatus employs a conventional perforated cell carrier which has a plurality of holes. Each hole has two metal electrodes. A cell is disposed in the hole to contact the two electrodes. The electrodes are connected to electric current or voltage. The electric current or field flows from one electrode through the cell to another electrode. Through the inherent impedance, inductance or capacitance of the cell, the presence or property reactions of the cell may be detected.
