The present application relates to determining a location of an object in response to a sensor output, generating a first vehicle path in response to the location of the object and a map data, determining an undrivable area within the first vehicle path, generating a waypoint outside of the undrivable area, generating a second vehicle path from a first point on the first vehicle path to the waypoint and a third vehicle path from the waypoint to a second point on the first vehicle path such that the second vehicle path and the third vehicle path are outside of the undrivable area, generating a control signal in response to the second vehicle path, the third vehicle path and and controlling a vehicle in response to the control signal such that the vehicle follows the second vehicle path and the third vehicle path.

Method and apparatus for method for dynamic multi-segment path and speed profile shaping

A vehicle includes an engine having a crankshaft which rotates at an engine speed, a transmission having a rotatable input member, a transmission control module (TC), and an engine control module (ECM) in communication with the TCM. The TCM is programmed to execute a transmission-to-engine speed monitoring and control method which includes transmitting an engine speed request to the ECM which requests a positive increase in the engine speed, and terminating the request when the request is active for more than a first calibrated timeout duration. The TCM also terminates the request when the request is active for more than a second calibrated duration that is less than the first calibrated duration, the transmission is not in neutral, and both a shift of the transmission and an acceleration of the input member are not active.

Monitoring of transmission-to-engine speed requests

Methods for operating a control system of a vehicle and vehicle systems are provided. A method includes receiving a first output signal from a longitudinal accelerometer during a first travel condition of the vehicle including a first vehicle speed of the vehicle and a first road grade substantially equal to zero, wherein the first vehicle speed is a constant speed and the first output signal represents a first measurement including a first vehicle acceleration component and a bias offset component, receiving a second output signal during a second travel condition of the vehicle including a second vehicle speed of the vehicle and a second road grade, wherein the second output signal represents a second measurement including a second vehicle acceleration component and the bias offset component, and determining the bias offset component and gravity component to obtain an estimated road grade factor.
