The primary objective of the present invention is to provide a positioning device for surgical operation, which could allow a surgical tool to be positioned precisely at a specific operating spot or a specific operating angle by providing a three axial free-moving function and a vertical and horizontal free-rotating function. Furthermore, the present invention is able to be electrically connected to and controlled by an automatic control system to achieve a more precise and efficient positioning function.

Positioning device for surgical operation

The present invention discloses an optical tracking device and a positioning method thereof. The optical tracking device comprises several light-emitting units, several image tracking units, an image processing unit, an analysis unit, and a calculation unit. First, the light-emitting units are correspondingly disposed on a carrier in geometric distribution and provide light sources. Secondly, the image tracking units track the plurality of light sources and capture images. The images are subjected to image processing by the image processing unit to obtain light source images corresponding to the light sources from each image. Then the analysis unit analyzes the light source images to obtain positions and colors corresponding to the light-emitting units. Lastly, the calculation unit establishes three-dimensional coordinates corresponding to the light-emitting units based on the positions and colors and calculates the position of the carrier based on the three-dimensional coordinates.

Optical tracking device and positioning method thereof

An automatic bone drilling apparatus for surgery operation uses a computer to control a hand tool drilling device to drill opening in skeleton. The computer has a fuzzy logic software to control the hand tool operation through a control box and a manual-automatic mode switch box. The hand tool drilling device may be securely mounted on the patient. Drilling location and size and depth may be precisely controlled to enhance surgical operation safety. It is particularly useful for drilling patient skeleton for brain surgery operation.
