A mixed-reality display device comprises an input system, a display, and a graphics processor. The input system is configured to receive a parameter value, the parameter value being one of a plurality of values of a predetermined range receivable by the input system. The display is configured to display virtual image content that adds an augmentation to a real-world environment viewed by a user of the mixed-reality display device. The graphics processor is coupled operatively to the input system and to the display; it is configured to render the virtual image content so as to variably change the augmentation, to variably change a perceived realism of the real world environment in correlation to the parameter value.

Examples are disclosed that relate to representing a digital project file. One example provides a computing device comprising a logic device and a storage device holding instructions executable to obtain a digital project file comprising a geometric representation of a real physical space, and a user-created annotation associated with a location in the representation. The instructions are further executable to display a representation of the file in a first rendering format, receive a request to display a representation of the file in a second rendering format in which one or more real surfaces of the real physical space are displayed as a virtual rendering, the one or more real surfaces not being displayed as the virtual rendering the first digital rendering format, and, in response to the request, display the representation of the file in the second format.

Digital project file presentation

Examples are disclosed that relate to displaying lists on augmented reality and virtual reality display devices in such a manner as to avoid list occlusion and resulting user input errors. One disclosed example provides a computing device including an image sensor, a display device, a logic device configured to execute instructions, and a storage device comprising instructions executable by the logic device. The instructions are executable to generate a representation of the list, compare the representation of the list to a topology of a three-dimensional environment viewable via the display device to determine whether the representation of the list intersects any object in the topology, and if the representation of the list intersects an object in the topology of the three-dimensional environment, then adjust one or more of a position and orientation of each of one or more items of the list to adapt to the object in the topology.
