A color filter includes a first filtering part and a number of first quantum dot particles formed in the first filtering part. A color of the first filtering part is a first primary color. The first quantum dot particles convert a light having a wavelength less than a wavelength of the first primary color to a light with the first primary color.

Color filter and display panel using same

A backlight module can include a light guiding board, a light source located at a side of the light guiding board, a package layer coupled to light guiding board, and a quantum dots layer located between the light guiding board and the package layer. The light guiding board can include a light entering face and a light exiting face. The light source is facing the light entering face of the light guiding board. The light source being is configured to provide light to the light entering face of the light guiding board. The quantum dots layer is adjacent to the light exiting face of the light guiding board. The light guiding board and the package layer cooperative define a receiving room receiving the quantum dots layer on the light guiding board.

Light guiding configuration, backlight module and display device

A display device with a color conversion layer providing predetermined colors for full-color display. The color conversion layer includes a plurality of color conversion units. Each color conversion unit includes a quantum dot film. The color conversion unit is configured to receive light beams and converts the light beams to primary colors to emit. Each color conversion unit defines a plurality of areas, and each primary color corresponds to one of the areas of the color conversion unit.

Display device with color conversion layer for full-color display

A display panel includes a lighting device, a color conversion layer, and a reflective sheet. The lighting device at least includes a first lighting part emitting a first light of a first color having a wavelength within the first wavelength range and a second lighting part emitting a second light of the first color having a wavelength within a second wavelength range. The color conversion layer includes a number of bases corresponding to the first lighting part and the second lighting part. The reflective sheet reflects a light having a wavelength within a first wavelength range and lets a light having a wavelength out of the first wavelength range to pass through. The bases corresponding to the first lighting part are doped with a number of quantum dot particles to convert the first light to a third light of a second color.

Display panel

A color filter of display panel for converting dual band white backlight to light with three-primary colors. The color filter includes a plurality of first filtering parts, a plurality of second filtering parts, and a plurality of quantum dot blocks. The first filtering parts have a first primary color and allow light having a first wavelength corresponding to the first primary color to pass therethrough. The second filtering parts have a second primary color and selectively allow light having a second wavelength corresponding to the second primary color to pass therethrough. The quantum dot block converting light having a wavelength smaller than a third wavelength corresponding to a third primary color to light having the second wavelength.
