A method for capturing real-world information into a virtual environment is provided. The method is suitable for a head-mounted device (HMD) located in a physical environment, and includes the following operations: providing the virtual environment, wherein a real-world content within the virtual environment is captured from a part of the physical environment corresponding to a perspective of the HMD; tracking a feature point which located within the physical environment and moved by a user, so as to define a selected plane of the real-world content by projecting a moving track of the feature point onto the real-world content; capturing image information corresponding to the selected plane; and generating a virtual object having an appearance rendered according to the image information, in which the virtual object is adjustable in size.

The disclosure provides a method for switching input devices, a head-mounted display (HMD) and a computer readable storage medium. The method includes: providing a visual content, wherein a first physical input device is visible in the visual content; determining whether a first specific distance between a specific object and the first physical input device is smaller than a first threshold; enabling the first physical input device in response to determining that the first specific distance is smaller than the first threshold; disabling the first physical input device in response to determining that the first specific distance is not smaller than the first threshold.

A handheld apparatus, a control method thereof of a presenting mode and a computer-readable recording medium are provided. The handheld apparatus includes at least one first sensor, a second sensor, a screen and a processor. The first sensor is disposed on the handheld apparatus. The second sensor detects orientation. The handheld apparatus has an auto-rotate screen function of automatically adjusting a presenting mode of the screen to a portrait mode or a landscape mode according to the orientation. The processor determines whether the handheld apparatus is in a hold state according to sensing data of the first sensor. In response to determining that the handheld apparatus is in the hold state, the processor locks the presenting mode according to the presenting mode currently performed by the handheld apparatus without adjusting the presenting mode according to the auto-rotate screen function. Accordingly, a convenient operation of the presenting mode is provided.

A first and a second sensors are disposed on a first and a second side of the handheld device, respectively. A processor of the handheld device is configured to determine the handheld device is in a left hand state or a right hand state according to a compared result between sensing data of the first and second sensors, and to display an operating interface corresponding to the right or left hand state on a display, where the compared result includes a force comparison between forces applied on the first and second sides of the handheld device, the first side corresponds to the right hand state, and the second side corresponds to the left hand state. Accordingly, a better operating experience for one hand can be provided.

The portable electronic device includes a body and an edge sensor disposed adjacent to an edge of the body. The operating method includes the following step. When a plugging-in event or a plugging-out event of a peripheral device is detected by the portable electronic device, a squeezing event sensed by the edge sensor is ignored. The squeezing event may be generated when a squeeze action sensed by the edge sensor occurs during a first time period. The plugging-in event or the plugging-out event may occur during the first time period. Alternatively, the squeeze action may begin within a second time period after the plugging-in event or the plugging-out event occurs.
