An organic EL device including a stacked structure having an organic luminescent layer positioned between an anode and a cathode; and a sealing can having a desiccant-containing layer on its inner surface. The desiccant in the desiccant-containing layer provides an excellent long-term moisture resistance to the organic EL device, thereby generating no or a few dark spots thereon.

Organic electroluminescent device and method for fabricating same

A positive hole transporting layer (,) is formed on an ITO film so as to form a substrate (,). A light emission organic material (,) is formed on the front surface of a convex protrusion portion (,) of a metal sheet (,). The front surface of the positive hole transporting layer (,) and the convex protrusion portion (,) are clamped with a glass plate (,). Laser light is radiated to the interior of the convex protrusion portion (,) through a shielding plate with an opening portion whose size corresponds to the size of the convex protrusion portion (,). The light emission organic material formed on the front surface of the convex protrusion portion (,) sublimates and transfers to the positive hole transporting layer (,). These steps are performed for areas of three color light emission devices.

Color organic EL display and fabrication method thereof

A method of making an organic EL device which enable production of a color system having image quality in a large display screen. The method of making the organic EL devices includes the steps of, arranging an organic EL transfer base plate obtained by depositing a luminescent organic compound on one side of a heat resistant base film and a transparent substrate provided with at least a transparent electrode leaving a space therebetween, and transferring by sublimation said luminescent organic compound on said transparent substrate by locally heating the heat resistant base film of said organic EL transfer base plate.
