A turn fixing mechanism portion of an endoscope apparatus includes: a turning portion connected to a turning unit turnably disposed; a fixed portion configured to turnably support the turning portion; an elastic member interposed between the turning portion and the fixed portion; and a holding member configured to fix a turned position of the turning unit by pressing the turning portion toward a side of the fixed portion to compress the elastic member in a turning axis direction to generate a predetermined frictional force.

An operation switch includes a concave portion in which an inner peripheral surface is constituted by a first inclined surface that is reduced in diameter toward a bottom portion from an external surface of a frame and a cylindrical portion that is formed in a pressing type operation button mounted on the concave portion and in which an outer peripheral surface is constituted by a second inclined surface that has a gradient larger than a gradient of the first inclined surface and faces the inner peripheral surface of the concave portion.

A portable endoscope includes: an operation portion; a video display device provided with a display portion and a device body; and a suction valve or a gas feeding adapter including a tube connecting portion provided on a fluid pipe sleeve. The body attaching portion of the device body is provided at a predetermined position positionally displaced from a central part of the device body; and the tube connecting portion is arranged along a back face of the device body and arranged in a display portion projection range projecting outward from the operation portion left side face viewed from the video display screen side.

An operation lever type (joystick type) endoscope including an operation lever capable of adjusting a bending angle of a bending portion in response to a tilting operation of an operation portion, and an exterior cover an outer periphery portion of which is watertightly fixed to an operation portion body (an operation portion), and an inner periphery portion of which watertightly covers an outer circumference of the operation lever, the exterior cover being capable of deforming by pressure fluctuation inside the operation portion (that is, pressure fluctuation of a sealed space formed inside the endoscope), is provided with a restricting memberconfigured to restrict expansion of the exterior cover by the fluctuation of the internal pressure.

An endoscope apparatus includes a display portion coupled to an operation portion, configured to be moved relative to the operation portion and configured to display an observation image obtained by the endoscope apparatus, a bending operation portion provided at the operation portion and configured to be moved in a basic direction relative to the operation portion wherein the bending operation portion is configured to be moved in an additional direction different from the basic direction, and a movement driving mechanism configured to move the display portion relative to the operation portion according to movement of the bending operation portion in the additional direction relative to the operation portion.

An inserting portion has, at the proximal end thereof, an operating portion having a bending lever for bending operation. The operating portion has, on the front end side thereof, a grip portion gripped by an operator. The grip portion has therein a plate frame as an internal structure for ensuring predetermined strength. At the notch portion formed by partly notching the frame, an image pick-up unit is mounted to form an optical image transmitted by image guiding fibers to a CCD via a relay optical system. The image pick-up unit is fixed to the frame via an attaching member. Thus, predetermined strength is assured and the image pick-up unit is compactly accommodated with simple structure. A predetermined image pick-up function using the image pick-up unit is held without the action of high tension to the image guiding fibers by mounting a bending portion to the image guiding fibers.

A surgical microscope apparatus incorporating a frame portion placed on a floor, a microscope body for stereoscopically observing a portion to be operated, an arm portion supported by the frame portion and arranged to suspend the microscope body, and an endoscope for observing a blind spot for a stereoscopic observation field of view. The frame portion has a light source unit for generating light for illuminating a portion observed with the endoscope and a camera control unit for processing an observed image of an observed portion obtained by the endoscope. A light guide fiber extending from the light source unit to the microscope body and capable of supplying light to the endoscope, and a camera cable for transmitting the image observed with the endoscope to the camera control unit extend in the arm portion. The microscope body is provided with an end of the light guide fiber for connecting the endoscope and a camera head connected to the camera cable.
