A method for driving a plasma display panel, including a plurality of display electrode pairs and a plurality of address electrodes, and which includes at least an address period and a sustain discharge period. In the address period, performing address processing, between the address electrodes and a display electrode configured as either a set of odd or even numbered display electrodes, sequentially to all of one of the sets of display electrode pairs, and thereafter address processing, between the address electrodes and a display electrode configured as the other set of display electrode pairs, sequentially to all of the other set of display electrode pairs. In the sustain discharge period, supplying at least one first sustain discharge pulse to the one set of display electrode pairs, and supplying at least one second sustain discharge pulse to the other set of display electrode pairs.

Method for driving a plasma display panel

An air purifier includes a main body defining an air passage therein to allow sucked air to pass therethrough prior to being discharged, and a first filter installed in the main body to be switched between a closed state and an open state. The first filter removes contaminants from the sucked air in the closed state, and allows the sucked air to pass through the air passage in the open state. The air purifier may include a main body to suck and discharge air, with a bypass passage formed in the main body so that the bypass passage is opened or closed by a door, and a first filter installed in the main body. The sucked air passes through the first filter prior to being discharged when the door is closed, and passes through the bypass passage prior to being discharged when the door is opened.

Drive circuit of plasma display device

A flat display employs at least one high voltage different from logic voltages. The display has a voltage detection unit and a drive control signal control unit. The voltage detection unit is used to detect the high voltage. The drive control signal control unit is used to control drive control signals of the flat display in accordance with the detected high voltage. This arrangement eliminates charging currents that are applied to a display panel but have nothing to do on the actual displaying of data, or reactive currents due to unnecessary switching operations, thereby reducing power consumption.

Flat display panel having internal power supply circuit for reducing power consumption

An electrode drive circuit of a plasma display device comprises: a scan driver provided with plural drivers including first and second switching elements and first and second diodes; a capacitor connected between the high potential side terminal and the low potential side terminal of the scan driver; a voltage supply circuit for selectively supplying plural voltages relating to the positive and negative voltages of the reset pulse and the voltage of a scan pulse to the low potential side terminal of the second switching element; and a negative reset switch and a resistor connected in series between the high potential side terminal of the first switching element and a ground terminal, wherein the reset pulse of negative polarity is applied by turning on the negative reset switch in a state where the capacitor is charged with the negative voltage of the reset pulse.

Plasma display device

A first signal line for supplying a potential to one terminal of a capacitive load, a first switch element for supplying a first potential to the first signal line, a first drive circuit for driving the first switch element, and a second signal line for supplying a second potential different from the aforesaid first potential to the one terminal of the capacitive load are included. A first capacitor is capable of supplying a lower potential than the first and the third potentials to the first signal line. A coil circuit is connected between the first signal line or the second signal line and a supply line for supplying the third potential. A floating power supply circuit supplies power supply voltage with a potential of the first signal line as a reference to the first drive circuit.

Drive circuit and plasma display device

A ramp waveform generation circuit for generating a ramp waveform to be applied to a capacitive load serving as a display element is connected between the ground and a signal line for supplying a high-level voltage generated by a power supply circuit for generating a voltage to be applied to the capacitive load, thereby operating the ramp waveform generation circuit with reference to the ground potential. Hence, without using a plurality of power supply circuits or a signal transmission circuit for converting the reference potential of a control signal for the ramp waveform generation circuit, a stable ramp waveform can be output with a simple circuit arrangement.

Circuit for driving flat display device

A capacitive load driving circuit has an input terminal, a front-edge delay circuit delaying a front edge of an input signal input via the input terminal, a back-edge delay circuit delaying a back edge of the input signal, an amplifying circuit amplifying a drive control signal obtained through the front-edge delay circuit and the back-edge delay circuit, and an output switch device which is driven by the amplifying circuit. The front-edge delay circuit includes a first time-constant circuit having a first resistor and a first capacitor, the back-edge delay circuit includes a second time-constant circuit having a second resistor and a second capacitor, and the drive control signal is generated by a signal combining circuit which combines an output signal of the first-time constant circuit with an output signal of the second-time constant circuit.

Capacitive load driving circuit for driving capacitive loads such as pixels in plasma display panel, and plasma display apparatus

A plasma display apparatus, in which the supply of a sustain pulse can be controlled for each display line and power consumption can be reduced by terminating the supply of the sustain pulse to the display line in the non-display area, has been disclosed. In this plasma display apparatus, a switch circuit is provided respectively on each wiring path of the sustain pulse to each electrode of a first electrode (X electrode) and a second electrode (Y electrode) and it is possible to control whether or not to supply the sustain pulse for each electrode.

Plasma display apparatus

A power module is provided which includes: a power-supply voltage terminal for inputting a power-supply voltage; a ground terminal; a first voltage terminal; a second voltage terminal; a first to a third switch; and a first to a third amplification circuit which amplify control signals for controlling the first to the third switch, respectively. The first switch is connected between the power-supply voltage terminal and the first voltage terminal. The second switch is connected between the first voltage terminal and the ground terminal. The third switch is connected between the second voltage terminal and the ground terminal.

A predrive circuit, a drive circuit and a display device which are capable of driving output elements so as to transmit control signals stably even when reference potentials generated on the output elements side turn to high voltage. A first level shift circuit outputs a flow signal which is an input signal according to a first level shift potential. A second level shift circuit outputs a flow signal which is the flow signal output from the first level shift circuit, according to a second reference potential. A level shift power supply circuit supplies the level shift potential based on a prescribed power supply voltage and the second reference potential to the first level shift circuit and the second level shift circuit.

Predrive circuit, drive circuit and display device

Method for driving a plasma display panel. At least one first discharge sustaining pulse is applied to a first pair of display electrodes, and at least one second discharge sustaining pulse applied to an adjacent pair of display electrodes. The first and second discharge sustaining pulses are applied such that they are in the same phase as one another and/or such that a current in the first pair of display electrodes flows in the opposite direction from a current in the adjacent pair of display electrodes.

Method of driving plasma display panel by applying discharge sustaining pulses

A signal transfer circuit in a pre-drive circuit converts the reference potential of a control signal, supplied from a drive control circuit, to the reference potential of an output element. The control signal is then amplified in a signal amplifier circuit and thereafter supplied to the output element. This makes it possible to isolate the reference potential and transfer the control signal to the output element even when the reference potentials of the drive control circuit and the control signal are different from that of the output element. The drive control circuit can also be prevented from being affected by variations in potential of the output element or the like.

Plasma display device and method for controlling the same

A driving apparatus comprises switches SW to Sw , a first signal line OUTA, and a second signal line OUTB. By ON/OFF control of the switches SW to Sw , the voltage of the first signal line OUTA is changed between a positive voltage (&plus;1/2V) level, which is smaller than a voltage V to be applied to a load , and the ground level, and the voltage of the second signal line OUTB is changed between the ground level and a negative voltage (&minus;1/2V). By ON/OFF control of switches SW and SW , the positive and negative voltages given by the first and second signal lines are selectively applied to the load . The maximum voltage applied to each element in the driving apparatus can be thereby lowered to the voltage (1/2V), which is smaller than the voltage V to be applied to the load . This makes it possible to hold down the breakdown voltage of each element to half the conventional value.

Driving apparatus and method, plasma display apparatus, and power supply circuit for plasma display panel

A plasma display apparatus with small-sized circuits and of a low cost has been disclosed. The apparatus comprises a display panel, having first electrodes and second electrodes adjacently arranged by turns and third electrodes that extend in the direction intersecting the first electrodes and the second electrodes, opposed to each other so as to sandwich a discharge area therebetween, an X drive circuit that drives the first electrodes, a Y drive circuit that drives the second electrodes, an address drive circuit that drives the third electrodes, and a secondary power supply that uses a pulse relating to the drive signal generated in the X drive circuit or the Y drive circuit.
