A magnetic sensor includes a magnetic sensing device, a sensor housing and a pair of magnetic flux guide members. The sensor housing includes a base body and a flange. The base body holds the magnetic sensing device at one end portion of the base body. The flange is fixed to the base body and is configured to be placed in contact with a receiving wall that receives a first magnetic circuit portion and a second magnetic circuit portion. The flange is made of a material having a higher rigidity than the base body.

Magnetic sensor, torque sensing device and steering apparatus

A sensor housing has a receiving recess at one end portion of the sensor housing located at one end of the sensor housing. The one end portion of the sensor housing faces first and second magnetic circuit portions. A circuit board is received in the receiving recess and has an opening, a front-side region and a rear-side region. The front-side region is located on a side of the opening where the one end of the sensor housing is placed. The rear-side region is located on an opposite side of the opening. A main body of a magnetic sensing device overlaps the opening such that terminals projecting from one of a pair of side walls of the main body are located at the front-side region, and terminals projecting from another one of the pair of side walls is located at the rear-side region.

Magnetic sensor and torque sensing device having the same

A magnetic detection module is provided so as to be selectively mountable in any of housings having a plurality of specifications having different shapes or sizes of mounting portions, and detects magnetic flux generated in the housing. The magnetic detection module includes one or more magnetic sensors that detect magnetic flux, a case in which the magnetic sensors are housed, and a cap that can be attached to an end of the case and is provided with a sealing member. The magnetic detection module can be attached to the housing of the first specification with the cap not attached to the case, and can be attached to the housing of the second specification through a sealing member with the cap attached to the case.

Magnetic detection module, detection device, case assembly, and production method for magnetic detection module

A torsion bar of a torque detection device converts torque applied between an input shaft and an output shaft to a torsional displacement. A pair of yokes is secured to the output shaft, and forms a magnetic circuit in a magnetic field of a multipolar magnet secured to the input shaft. A magnetic flux guide member has a main body facing the yoke to guide magnetic flux of the magnetic circuit. A magnetic sensor is placed at an extension, and detects magnetic flux guided by the magnetic flux guide member. The magnetic flux guide member is configured to allow magnetic permeance per unit area between the magnetic flux guide member and the yoke to be greater at a location in the main body from which the extension is branched, than at a circumferential end portion of the main body.

Torque detection device and magnetic sensor module

A torque detection device includes a first magnetic circuit part, a second magnetic circuit part, a circuit board module, and a sensor housing. The first magnetic circuit part is disposed on one side of a multipolar magnet in an axial direction. The second magnetic circuit part is disposed on the other side of the multipolar magnet in the axial direction. The circuit board module includes plural magnetic sensors mounted thereon and facing the magnetic circuit on one end side in a width direction being included in the plane and intersecting the arrangement direction. The sensor housing is coupled to one end side in the arrangement direction of the circuit board module so as to support the circuit board module on the one end side in the arrangement direction of the circuit board module.

Torque detection device and sensor module

A torque detecting device detects a torsional torque between a first shaft and a second shaft based on a torsional displacement of a resilient member linking the first shaft and the second shaft coaxially. The torque detecting device is provided with: a magnet fixed to the first shaft; a first yoke fixed to the second shaft and arranged to be rotatable with respect to the magnet; a second yoke fixed to the second shaft and arranged to be rotatable together with the first yoke with respect to the magnet; a magnetic flux collector which collects magnetic flux; and a magnetic sensor which detects magnetic flux density. The magnetic flux collector is located to face both the first yoke and the second yoke. The magnetic sensor is located between the first yoke, from among the first yoke and the second yoke, and the magnetic flux collector, and detects the magnetic flux density between the first yoke and the magnetic flux collector.

Torque detecting device

A torque sensor is provided with a torsion bar which converts torque applied between a first shaft and a second shaft into a torsional displacement. A multipole magnet is fixed to one end side of either the first shaft or the torsion bar and in which N poles and S poles are magnetized alternately in a circumferential direction. A plurality of first yokes is provided in the circumferential direction on a radially outer side of the multipole magnet. A plurality of second yokes is provided in the circumferential direction on the radially outer side of the multipole magnet in such a way that each second yoke is sandwiched between two first yokes. A set of magnetic flux collecting members includes a first main body portion and a second main body portion, and forms a magnetic circuit in conjunction with the plurality of first yokes and the plurality of second yokes in a magnetic field generated by the multipole magnet. A magnetic sensor is provided radially outside the first main body portion and the second main body portion to detect a magnetic flux density generated in the magnetic circuit.

Torque sensor

A torque sensor includes: a torsion bar coaxially connecting a first shaft and a second shaft; a multipole magnet; a pair of magnetic yokes; and a magnetic sensor capable of detecting a density of magnetic flux formed by the pair of the magnetic yokes and having an inner magnetosensitive surface facing inward in a radial direction and an outer magnetosensitive surface facing outward in the radial direction when viewed along a central axis of the torsion bar. The torque sensor includes: a magnetic flux guiding member capable of magnetically coupling the magnetic yoke and the outer magnetosensitive surface of the magnetic sensor; and a water blocking portion capable of housing the magnetic sensor and the magnetic flux guiding member to restrict the magnetic sensor from coming into contact with water.

A torque detector detects a torsional torque between a first shaft and a second shaft based on a torsional displacement of an elastic member coaxially connecting the first shaft and the second shaft. The torque detector includes a magnetic flux generation unit and a magnetic sensor. The magnetic flux generation unit rotates with rotation of the first shaft and includes a first pole and a second pole into and out of which lines of magnetic force enter and exit. The magnetic sensor rotates with rotation of the second shaft and includes a detection surface for detecting a magnetic flux or a magnetic flux density. The first pole and the second pole are arranged to face each other across the magnetic sensor.

Magnetic torque detector

A conductive wire has a peripheral disposition part disposed around a center member and an extension part integrally formed with the peripheral disposition part so as to extend from the peripheral disposition part. A plurality of conductive wires are disposed. A sheath is disposed so as to cover the center member and the peripheral disposition part. A tube is disposed so as to surround an end portion of the sheath and a part of the extension part, and is thermally shrinkable. An adhesive is disposed inside the tube and is melted or softened by heat.

Cable, electric power steering device using the cable, and method of manufacturing the cable

A torque detecting apparatus includes a first shaft; a second shaft; an elastic member coaxially linking the first and second shafts; and a magnet attached to the first shaft; a pair of magnetic yokes composed of a first magnetic yoke and a second magnetic yoke, the first and second magnetic yokes being fixedly installed on the second shaft; and a magnetic sensor. Each magnetic yoke includes an opposing portion and a wall portion. The opposing portion is opposed to the magnet and displaced circumferentially relatively to the magnet when the elastic member is subjected to a torsional displacement. The wall portions of the first and second magnetic yokes are separated and positioned outside the opposing portions in the radial direction. The wall portions of the first and second magnetic yokes extend to be mutually opposed. The magnetic sensor is positioned between the wall portions.

Apparatus for detecting torque value

Claw portions opposing a magnet are disposed on inner edges of a first yoke and a second yoke. Wall portions are disposed on outer edges of the first yoke and the second yoke so as to extend in an axial direction. A distal end of the wall portion and another distal end of the other wall portion are spaced apart from each other in the axial direction and disposed to oppose each other. A magnetic sensor is disposed between the distal ends in the axial direction. End faces oblique to the axial direction are disposed on the distal ends and a distance between the distal ends on a radially inner side is made shorter than a distance between the distal ends on a radially outer side.

A hole is formed in a substrate of a magnetic detection device, the hole being spaced away from an outer edge of the substrate. Magnetic detection elements of a magnetic sensor detects magnetic field formed at first and second collector portions. A mold section encapsulates the magnetic detection elements. The magnetic sensor is surface mounted such that a portion of the mold section overlaps with the hole. The first collector portion faces a front surface of the magnetic sensor. A portion of the second collector portion is positioned in the hole to face a rear surface of the magnetic sensor. Accordingly, compared to a case where a hole is not provided, a magnetic circuit gap between the first and second collector portions is reduced.

Magnetic detection device and torque sensor including the same

A cutout portion is formed in a substrate of a magnetic detection device, the cutout portion opening at an outer edge of the substrate. Magnetic detection elements of a magnetic sensor detects magnetic field formed by first and second collector portions. A mold section encapsulates the magnetic detection elements. The magnetic sensor is surface mounted such that a portion of the mold section overlaps with the cutout portion. The first collector portion faces a front surface of the magnetic sensor. A portion of the second collector portion is positioned in the cutout portion to face a rear surface of the magnetic sensor. Accordingly, compared to a case where a cutout portion is not provided, a magnetic circuit gap between the first and second collector portions is reduced.

A torque sensor includes: a torsion bar; a multi-pole magnet; a pair of yokes on an outside of the multi-pole magnet in a radial direction and providing a magnetic circuit in a magnetic field generated by the multi-pole magnet; and a pair of magnetic sensors arranged along a circumferential direction. Each magnetic sensor includes a magnetism sensing part for detecting a magnetic flux density generated in the magnetic circuit, and outputs a detection signal to an external computing device. The magnetic sensors output the detection signals to the external computing device such that the computing device calculates a sum of outputs or a difference of outputs of the magnetic sensors so as to cancel a variation of the outputs produced by a magnetic flux generated from the multi-pole magnet and directly reaching the magnetism sensing parts.
