A user inputs voice through a voice recognition program, a microphone and an A/D converter while pointing by use of a pointing gesture, touch pen or the like with reference to an image displayed on a display unit. For the result of recognition of the inputted voice, a processing or display indicated by a candidate having the first rank of reliability of recognition is performed and an indication showing a plurality of candidates having the second rank and the lower ranks than that is displayed in a menu form on a display screen. In the case where there is an error (that is, in the case where the processing or display indicated by the candidate having the first rank is not a processing intended by the user or the user makes an erroneous input), the error is corrected in such a manner that a correct input candidate is selected by a finger, pen or the like from the displayed menu of candidates having the second rank and the lower ranks than that and a processing operation or display associated with the selected candidate is performed again.

An information processing apparatus having speech and non-speech communication functions for communicating with another party in a non-speech mode in which data information is transferred and communicating with another party in a speech mode in which voice information is transferred. A system for processing information with an electronic pen includes a coordinates indicating device and a coordinates sensing device. Both of the devices serves to output the information stored in itself to each other and store the information outputted from the other. The present invention relates to a document editing and a printing apparatus comprising a data processor such as a personal computer and a word processor, and more particularly to a method of correcting data to be printed. The object of the present invention is to provide a printed data correcting method capable of correcting an error in a printed document during printing without terminating the printing when such error is found. In order to achieve the object, according to the present invention, data involving printing is displayed to the user. Each data is stored which is indicative of whether data of a specified unit such as a character, a line or a page are printed or print-waiting such that the data stored as being print-waiting can be corrected. When the data stored as being already printed are corrected, only the page which contains the corrected data is reprinted.
