According to one embodiment, a semiconductor storage device includes a first loop antenna, a second loop antenna, and a controller. The first loop antenna generates a second magnetic field on the basis of electromagnetic induction according to a first magnetic field. The second loop antenna generates an induced electromotive force on the basis of electromagnetic induction according to the second magnetic field. The controller is operable on the basis of the induced electromotive force generated in the second loop antenna, and performs communication with respect to a first external device generating the first magnetic field, through the second loop antenna.

Semiconductor storage device

A semiconductor storage device includes a substrate having a first surface, a loop antenna, and a magnetic substance. The loop antenna includes first, second, third, and fourth electrodes, first and second inner wirings, and first and second outer wirings, the first outer wiring having a first end connected to the first electrode and a second end connected to the second electrode, the first inner wiring having a first end connected to the second electrode and a second end connected to the third electrode, the second outer wiring having a first end connected to the third electrode and a second end connected to the fourth electrode, and the second inner wiring having a first end connected to the fourth electrode and a second end connected to another electrode. The magnetic substance is on the first surface and surrounded by the first and second inner and outer wirings.

A storage device includes a connection unit to which a first external device is to be connected, a first non-volatile memory in which content items are stored with associated content IDs, a first controller configured to access the content items stored in the first non-volatile memory, an antenna, a second non-volatile memory in which permission information is stored, and a second controller configured to update the permission information based on update information received from a second external device through the antenna. The update information is contained in radio waves transmitted by the second external device and the radio waves cause the antenna to generate power necessary to operate the second non-volatile memory and the second controller. In response to a read command from the first external device, the first controller performs a read of one of the content items based on the updated permission information.

A method of linking location information to image data in a storage device includes: generating image files, each including image data of a captured image and a time stamp of when the image was captured; determining an first time stamp and a second time stamp within a group of the image files; wirelessly transmitting the first time stamp and the second time stamp to a device having a location logging function and, in response to the wirelessly transmitting, receiving location information corresponding to at least one of a plurality of time stamps including the first time stamp, the second time stamp, and a third time stamp that is between the first time stamp and the second time stamp; and embedding location information in each image file based on the time stamp included therein and the location information received from the device.

A method of dynamically associating an accessory ID with a portable memory device and displaying confirmation of the association includes: when an accessory and a first portable memory device are coupled with a host apparatus, detecting the accessory ID of the accessory and storing the accessory ID in the first portable memory device; wirelessly transmitting the accessory ID and a device ID of the first portable memory device for registration in association with one another; and subsequent to the registration, upon determining that a code captured from a portable memory devices uniquely corresponds to that of the first portable memory device, retrieving an image corresponding to the accessory ID that is registered in association with the device ID of the first portable memory device, and displaying the image on a display device for visual confirmation that the portable memory device contains the data generated in connection with the accessory ID.

A wireless communication system includes a storage apparatus and a computing device. The storage apparatus includes a connector, a wireless antenna, a nonvolatile first memory having stored therein visual or audio content, a communication controller powered from an induction current generated when a wireless signal is received through the wireless antenna, and a controller powered using the power supplied from the electronic apparatus through the connector. The controller retrieves the visual or audio content from the first memory based on content ID transmitted wirelessly from the computing device and transmits the retrieved visual or audio content to the electronic apparatus for playback by the electronic apparatus. The computing device includes an image capturing unit, extracts feature values from the data of the captured image, and transmits the wireless signal containing the content ID to the storage apparatus, the content ID being determined from the extracted feature values.

An information processing apparatus includes a wireless communication unit that causes an induction current for wireless communication with a storage apparatus that has a wireless communication function, and a processor. The processor executes a user-interactive application in association with an accessory ID of an accessory and status information thereof, when the accessory ID and the status information are received from the storage apparatus within a wireless communication range, the status information of the accessory ID being updated during execution of the user-interactive application. The processor then transmits wirelessly, to the storage apparatus, the accessory ID and the updated status information, such that a first visual or audio output corresponding to the accessory ID and the updated status information is generated by a host device when the host device is physically coupled with the storage apparatus.
