A downloading system which can be used freely by many and unspecified persons. A recording medium is loaded in a public downloading apparatus, and use condition confirmation processing is performed by using information recorded on the medium. Processing for downloading various sorts of information using the public downloading apparatus is allowed to be started according to a result of the use condition confirmation processing. Communication of information necessary for use condition confirmation processing with respect to use of the public downloading apparatus or for downloading processing can be performed between the public downloading apparatus and a server system.

Downloading system

A computer system which can be freely used by many and unspecified persons. A recording medium is loaded in a computer terminal (public terminal), and use condition confirmation processing is performed by using information recorded on the medium. Use of the public terminal for various processes is allowed to be started according to a result of the use condition confirmation processing. Communication of information necessary for use condition confirmation processing with respect to use of the public terminal or for one of the various processes executed as use of the public terminal can be performed between the public terminal and a server system.

Computer system

A method for recording data onto a disc-shaped recording medium having a sector construction such as an optical disc by dividing input data into predetermined lengths, respectively, two-dimensionally arranging the divided data, generating and adding error correction codes to the two-dimensionally arranged data by a predetermined series to thereby form n encoded blocks; changing the data arrangement among the n encoded blocks; and distributing and recording the changed data to each sector on the disc-shaped recording medium.

Data recording method

The present invention discloses a method of producing a discharge display device which enables a LaB.sub.6 cathode to be formed by a thick-film printing method. The method of the present invention comprises the steps of applying a paste prepared by mixing LaB.sub.6 powder with alkali glass powder in a proportion of 20-40 wt. % with respect to the LaB.sub.6 powder to a base electrode, burning the paste, and activating the paste by gas discharge with large current after an exhaustion step to form a LaB.sub.6 cathode on the base electrode.
