An image reading device having a conveying unit for conveying an irradiated member that has a hologram area in a conveying direction; a first light source for applying light to an irradiated part in the hologram area; and a second light source separated from the first light source along the conveying direction and applying light to an irradiated part in the hologram area when the hologram area is conveyed by a prescribed distance. An irradiation angle at which the irradiated part is irradiated with the light of the first light source is made to be different from an irradiation angle at which the irradiated part is irradiated with the light of the second light source when the hologram part is conveyed by the prescribed distance. Lights reflected by the hologram area are respectively received to detect an electric signal of the hologram area of the irradiated member.

An image reading apparatus includes: a transporting unit that transports an irradiated member having a light transmissive portion including irregularities; a light source that emits light, which irradiates the irradiated member, and the light source is placed on a one side with respect to the irradiated member and inclined by a predetermined angle with respect to a vertical plane that is perpendicular to the irradiated member; a lens that is placed on an another side with respect to the irradiated member and converges scattered light that is scattered by the irregularities; and a sensor that receives the scattered light converged by the lens.

An image reading apparatus includes a carrying unit that carries an irradiated object having a reflecting portion and a transmitting portion in a carrying direction, a first light source arranged on one face side of the irradiated object that irradiates light to an irradiated portion in a path of carrying the irradiated object, a second light source arranged on other face side that irradiates light to the irradiated portion, a detecting unit arranged to be spaced apart from the irradiated portion by a predetermined distance that detects the transmitting portion, a lighting control unit that controls to put on the second light source during a time period of passing the transmitting portion through the irradiated portion, a lens array arranged on one face side of the irradiated object that converges reflecting light reflected by the reflecting portion and transmitting light, and a sensor that receives converged light.
