An hour chime clock has an hour-indicating hand and a plurality of display units disposed circumferentially around the hour-indicating hand at different hour positions. The display units are displaceable between two positions to display either an ornament or an hour numeral. At each hour, a melody chimes and the display units undergo a predetermined pattern of movements. After chiming the hour, the display unit at the present hour position is placed in a different display state from the display state of all the other display units.

Hour chime clock

A device featuring an hour hand, a minute hand, and an operation indicating disk which are secured at the end of an hour hand shaft, a minute hand shaft, and a second hand shaft, respectively. The shafts are fitted coaxially and pass through a dial. The operation indicating disk is located at a central concave portion of the minute hand and a transparent cover is provided.

A timepiece having a housing and at least one decorative element mounted for rotation relative to the housing. The mounting comprises a rotary member supporting the decorative element and rotatably mounted on a shaft connected to the housing, a stationary gear mounted on the shaft, a drive motor mounted on the rotary member for rotation therewith, and a pinion for engaging the drive motor with the stationary gear to effect rotation of the decorative element.

Device for turning decoration for timepiece

An alarm timepiece the internal movements and electronic components of which can be arranged and accommodated more efficiently in that the alarm diaphragm with a piezo-electric element attached thereto is obliquely mounted within the frame of the timepiece to lean from the bottom of the timepiece frame against a rising part of the side of the frame. This arrangement taken in conjunction with a sound emitting opening situated between the outer circumference of the bottom and the rising part of the frame of the timepiece provide an unobstructed path for the alarm sound while taking advantage of otherwise vacant space within the internal movement and electronic component compartment of the timepiece.

Alarm timepiece

A stepping motor for use in a clock includes a rod core having an effective length L, and a coil wound around the rod core along the effective length L and having a thickness R defined between the center of the rod core and the outermost periphery of the coil. The effective length L and the thickness R satisfy the relation 10.ltoreq.L/R.ltoreq.40. A stator is magnetically connected between the ends of the rod core. A rotor is rotatably disposed between opposed magnetic poles of the stator, and the rotor has a circular shape of a radius r.sub.0 in the range of 1 to 2 mm. Electric pulses having a pulse width t in the range of 9 to 17mS are applied to the coil so that the stepping motor converts more than 20% of the electric energy of the pulses into rotational torque of the rotor.

A small synchronous motor is provided with a stator winding wound around a stator core. Conversion efficiency is improved by setting the ratio of the coil length (L) to the thickness between the center of the core and the outer most periphery of the coil (R) to be L/R to 40.
