A method and apparatus conduct a performance evaluation test for a vehicle in which an actuator that applies a depressing force to a control member to be operated by a vehicle operator is controlled by a controller. The controller controls the actuator to automatically apply the depressing force to the control member for conducting a performance evaluation test for the vehicle, and changes control of the actuator in accordance with an actual state of the vehicle.

Vehicle performance evaluation test method and apparatus

A method and apparatus for conducting a vehicle performance evaluation test by automatically depressing a control member of the vehicle to be depressed by a vehicle operator uses an actuator of a vehicle performance evaluation test apparatus. The actuator depresses the control member, the actuator having a first end and a second end. The first end of the actuator is fixed to a seat of the vehicle. The second end of the actuator is engaged with the control member of the vehicle. The actuator is caused to exert a depressing force to depress the control member relative to the seat so as to automatically depress the control member.

The pump is connected on its delivery side through an auxiliary passage to a primary passage connecting the master cylinder and brake cylinder to each other, and a pressure control valve is provided in a portion of the primary passage between the master cylinder and a point of connection thereof to the auxiliary passage. The pressure control valve releases working fluid from the pump to the master cylinder when delivery pressure of the pump is higher than the master cylinder pressure by more than a predetermined amount, and the pump is activated when the fluid pressure generated in the brake cylinder is required to be higher than the master cylinder pressure, during brake operation.

Braking device

A brake apparatus has a good brake operation feel provided by a combination of a link mechanism and a brake booster. The link mechanism changes a lever ratio so that the lever ratio is gradually decreased as a pedal stroke is increased after the pedal stroke reaches a predetermined point. The brake booster increases a rate of increase of an output force so that the rate of increase is increased as an input force is increased. A brake characteristic of the brake apparatus as a whole exhibits a linear relationship relative to the deceleration of the vehicle, the brake characteristic being defined as an inclination of the deceleration against the pressing force input to the link mechanism. One of the link mechanism and the brake booster may be used alone in a brake apparatus to provide their respective effect to a brake apparatus.

A brake disc rotor includes: a pair of disc-shaped sliding plates provided in parallel with and separately from each other in the axle direction; a plurality of partition walls radially provided between the sliding plates; a plurality of passages radially formed between the plurality of partition walls; a plurality of inlet and outlet openings communicating with the plurality of passages and opening inward and in the radially outward direction; and an inclined portion formed on the surface of the inside sliding plate opposed to the outside sliding plate such that a distance between the inside and outside sliding plates is gradually decreased in the radially outward direction.

The present invention is directed to a vacuum servo unit, wherein a variable pressure chamber is capable of communicating with the atmosphere through a clearance which is defined between an air valve member slidably mounted on an input member and a seal member provided in a cylindrical member, and wherein the variable pressure chamber is capable of communicating with a constant pressure chamber through a clearance which is defined between a vacuum valve member and a seal portion of a control valve member. Accordingly, when the air is introduced from the clearance between the air valve member and the seal member in the condition where the seal portion of the control valve member is in contact with the vacuum valve member, the control valve member is biased toward the vacuum valve member by the pressure difference between the negative pressure and the atmospheric pressure.

Vacuum servo unit for a vehicle braking system

A brake disc rotor which includes sliding plates on the inside and outside which are in parallel with and separated from each other in the axial direction of an axle; a plurality of inner and outer partition walls radially arranged between the sliding plates; a plurality of passages radially formed between the inner and outer partition walls; a plurality of inlet and outlet openings for communicating the passages; and a plurality of connecting openings for communicating the mutually adjacent passages. The stream flowing from the inlet opening is formed along an upper wall of the inner partition walls and the stream is formed in a flow separation portion in the vicinity of a lower wall of the outer partition wall through the connecting openings.

A brake disc rotor comprising: sliding plates on the inside and outside in parallel with and separated from each other in the axial direction of an axle; fins composed of a plurality of curved long partition walls provided between the sliding plates, radially extending from the internal portion to the external portion, and inclined with respect to the radial direction, and a plurality of curved short partition walls provided in parallel between the mutually adjacent long partition walls and extending from a large-diameter internal portion to the external portion; a plurality of ventilation holes radially divided by the fins and composed of the upper and lower ventilation holes with the short partition walls; and inlet and outlet openings opened inward and outward in the radial direction thereof.

In this portless type master cylinder device, a cylinder bore is formed in a body thereof, and a piston member is fitted in the cylinder bore and is slidably movable from an initial axial position therein and defines a pressure chamber in cooperation with the cylinder bore. An intake valve communicates between the cylinder chamber and the fluid reservoir via a fluid flow path, and is opened when the piston member is in its initial axial position while it is closed when the piston member moves through more than a determinate relatively small axial distance from its initial axial position. Intermediately along the fluid flow path between the intake valve and the fluid reservoir, there are provided in parallel a non return valve which allows substantially free flow of fluid from the fluid reservoir to the intake valve but not substantially in the reverse direction, and a means for allowing flow of fluid from the intake valve to the fluid reservoir with a relatively high flow resistance being presented to the flow. Thereby, the stroke of the piston member has a much reduced inactive initial stroke portion, as compared with other portless type master cylinder devices, and the operational feeling of the master cylinder device is greatly improved.

In this portless type master cylinder device, a cylinder bore is formed in a body thereof, and a piston member is fitted in the cylinder bore and is slidably movable from an initial axial position therein and defines a pressure chamber on its one side and a reservoir chamber on its other side in cooperation with the cylinder bore. An intake valve communicates between the cylinder chamber and the reservoir chamber, and is opened when the piston member is in its initial axial position while it is closed when the piston member moves through more than a determinate relatively small axial distance from its initial axial position. Intermediately along the fluid flow path between the intake valve and the reservoir chamber, there is provided a means for presenting a relatively high flow resistance to flow of fluid in the direction from the intake valve to the reservoir chamber. Thereby, in the dynamic operational mode, the stroke of the piston member has a much reduced inactive initial stroke portion, as compared with other portless type master cylinder devices, and the operational feeling of the master cylinder device is greatly improved.

A relief valve used for hydraulic devices such as the master cylinder for motor vehicles, comprising a housing for passing hydraulic fluid therethrough to adjust the hydraulic pressure, a ball valve disposed in the housing, a coil spring for pushing the ball valve in the housing and plural finger-like portions formed in the inside of the housing to resiliently nip the ball valve so as to prevent the vibration of ball valve in the direction of diameter of the housing at the time of releasing hydraulic fluid through the inside of the housing, thereby making it possible to avoid the generation of strange noise by the vibration of ball valve. It is desirable to form the surface of valve body or the valve body side surface of the finger-like portions so that it has a surface roughness within a specific range in order to make the noise prevention effect more perfect.
