A tube bending device having draw-bending and compression-bending functions and capable of bending in all processes in a unit of device is provided. The device performing bending by rotating the tube at a predetermined angle with the tube pressured against a circumferential surface of a bending die, the device including a movable type of tube bending unit movable in a longitudinal direction of a tube to be processed or a fixed type of tube bending unit and a tube twisting unit for rotating the tube freely at a predetermined angle with a center of the tube being an axis core is characterized in that the tube bending unit has one or both of draw-bending and compression-bending functions and is provided rotatably in a vertical plane about an axis parallel to the axis core of the tube so that the displacement amount in a tube twisting operation can be reduced.

Bending device for tube

A bending processor for a pipe has a pipe bending unit and a pipe twisting unit. The pipe bending unit is rotated by a predetermined angle while pressing the processed pipe against the circumferential face of a bending die, and performs the bending processing. The pipe bending unit may be movable in the longitudinal direction of the processed pipe or may be fixed. The pipe twisting unit is freely rotated by a predetermined angle with the center of the processed pipe as an axis. The pipe bending unit has a tensile bending function and a compression bending function.

A multi-row pipe bending apparatus has a plurality of rows of pipe bending devices each including a pipe bending unit having at least one bending die, and clamping and pressure dies for securing to the bending die a pipe to be bent. Each bending device includes also a pipe twisting unit having a twisting plate having an opening for holding the pipe, and rotatable with a predetermined twisting angle about the longitudinal axis of the pipe for moving it to a position conforming to the shape into which it is to be bent. The bending and twisting units are movable longitudinally of the pipe. A pipe transfer device is provided for transferring the pipe from one row to another, so that the pipe may be bent close to one end thereof in one row, and close to the other end in another.

In a pipe bending apparatus, a chuck unit is movable along a straight pipe for holding it in position between a pair of bending units which are also movable along the pipe. The apparatus can bend even a long metal pipe having a small diameter accurately at a desired angle in any of a variety of directions, while allowing it to be quickly set for any bending job.

Pipe bending apparatus

A pipe bending device comprising a movable unit mounted on a bed in a manner to move longitudinally of the bed. The movable unit carries a twisting motor, a bending/twisting motor, and a support plate projecting upright. A pipe retaining unit is mounted on the projecting end portion of the support plate for retaining a pipe to be worked and is rotated by a twisting plate by a predetermined angle within 360 degrees on the axis of the retained pipe. A bending roller unit is mounted on the twisting plate for bending the pipe, which is held by the twisting plate, by a predetermined angle in a plane normal to the twisting plate. A first rotation transmitting train is arranged on one side of the support plate for transmitting the rotation of the twisting motor to the twisting plate. A second rotation transmitting train is arranged on the other side of the support plate for transmitting the rotation of the bending/twisting motor to the bending roller unit.

A tube bending machine in which a tube detecting sensor detects an amount of bending a tube during the bending process and a controlling unit performs control so that the amount of bending detected by the sensor becomes a value corresponding to the program stored in a memory beforehand; thus, the second and subsequent tubes are bent accurately and efficiently by a drive command from the memory.

A method of applying various kinds of bending working accurately to a metal tube of a small diameter to be worked, which comprises seizing one end of a metal tube to be worked and setting a working direction, transferring the tube to a working position, applying predetermined bending by paired roller means, transferring the same to the succeeding step and applying the same working. Such operations are repeated as required. The apparatus employed for practicing the method comprises a chuck, a receiving roller and a bending roller and a control means for controlling the operation of them. Various kinds of bending working can be applied efficiently and accurately to a metal tube of a small diameter to be worked by a simple method and with an apparatus of a simple structure.

Method of and apparatus for bending a metal tube of a small diameter

An apparatus for bending a metal pipe having a small diameter includes a pipe retaining mechanism and bending units. The pipe retaining mechanism comprises a pair of chucks consisting of a split pattern provided on a support. One of the chucks is fixed and the other is mounted on the distal end of a piston rod of a cylinder device in such a manner that it opposes the one of the chucks. The bending units are provided on the support on two sides of the pipe retaining mechanism in the crosswise direction thereof, and has forming rolls supported to fixtures on the support on two sides of the extension of the axis of the pipe retaining mechanism, as well as press rolls which are pivotal about the forming rolls. The support is fixed to the upper end of a drive shaft rotated in cooperation with a piston rod of a cylinder device on a base, so that the bending apparatus on the support can be pivoted on the plane of the support during bending process.

Apparatus for bending metal tube of small diameter

A clamp for disposing and securing a metal pipe or a resin tube having a relatively small diameter is disclosed. The clamp has a gripping wall for clamping a pipe, the gripping wall being formed by bending the longitudinally central portion of a rectangular piece of plate in the shape of a cylinder which extends laterally, and flat support walls which are defined by two end portions, respectively, of the piece of plate which are contiguous with the gripping wall, the support walls being superposed one upon the other and provided with respective mounting bores which are disposed so as to align with each other when the clamp is secured to a base. The clamp is provided with a clamping wall defined by a projecting end portion of one of the support walls which projects beyond the edge of the other support wall. The clamping wall clamps the second support wall when the first support wall is folded at the time of securing the pipe, the clamping wall having a bore which is provided so as to align with the mounting bores. Further, a bore or a notch is formed in the fold portion of the first support wall. Accordingly, there is no fear of the clamped pipe coming out of position or coming off the clamp during transportation or movement of the product kept in storage. Thus, it is possible to facilitate handling of the product and improve the operation efficiency by a large margin.

Clamp for disposing and securing small-diameter pipe

A bending device for use in an automatic pipe bender comprises a chuck unit for gripping a straight pipe, a bending unit, and a movable unit. The movable unit can move forward and backward longitudinally of the pipe placed in position. A rotary member is mounted to the movable unit so as to be rotatable within a range of 360.degree. in a direction perpendicular to the axis of the pipe. The bending unit is mounted to the rotary member so that the bending unit rotates with the rotary member.

Bending device for automatic pipe bender

An apparatus is provided for automatically bending tubular materials. The apparatus comprises a bending direction setter which is operative to securely grip a length of tubular material approximately centrally along the length of material. The bending direction setter is operative to rotate the tubular material about its original axis a preselected and carefully controlled amount. The bending apparatus further comprises a pair of automatic benders which are operative to engage the tubing at selected locations on opposed sides of the bending direction setter. The benders are operative to selectively engage the tubing material at a predetermined location therealong and to effect a controlled bend therein. The bending direction setter may rotate the tubular material about its original axis between successive bends carried out by the benders, thereby enabling the tubular material to be bent through three dimensions. The apparatus further comprises a takeout unit for removing the bent tubular product from the bend direction setter.
