A solid-state relay having favorable electrical characteristics is provided. The solid-state relay includes a first circuit and a second circuit. The first circuit includes a first light-emitting element. The second circuit includes a first light-receiving element, a memory, and a first switch. The memory includes a second switch. The second switch includes a second semiconductor layer. The first switch and the first light-emitting element are formed using a first semiconductor layer. The first semiconductor layer and the second semiconductor layer contain gallium, and the second semiconductor layer further contains oxygen. On or off of the first light-emitting element is controlled by a first signal supplied to the first circuit. First data, which is generated when the first light-receiving element converts light emitted by the first light-emitting element into voltage, is supplied to the memory. Conduction or non-conduction of the first switch is controlled by the first data stored in the memory.

Solid-state relay and semiconductor device

A display device in which high voltage can be applied to a display element is provided. A display element includes a pixel provided with a display element including a pixel electrode and a common electrode, and the pixel is electrically connected to a first data line and a second data line. Supply of a first potential to the pixel through the first data line and supply of a second potential to the pixel through the second data line are performed concurrently, and then a third potential is supplied to the pixel through the second data line, whereby the first potential held in the pixel is changed to a fourth potential, and the fourth potential is applied to the pixel electrode. Here, the second potential is a potential calculated based on the first potential. When the value of the second potential is less than or equal to a potential applied to the common electrode, the third potential is higher than the potential applied to the common electrode. In contrast, when the value of the second potential is greater than or equal to the potential applied to the common electrode, the third potential is lower than the potential applied to the common electrode.

Method for operating display device with potentials higher and lower than maximum and minimum potentials generated by source driver circuit

A semiconductor device includes a display device and a source driver. Each of a plurality of pixels included in the display device is supplied with a first data potential and a second data potential included in a range of a first potential or higher to a second potential or lower. The first data potential makes the pixel display an image with a first gray level. The pixel performs calculation with the first data potential and the second data potential to generate a third data potential. The third data potential makes the pixel display an image with a second gray level. A reference potential of the first data potential is an intermediate potential between the first potential and the second potential, and the gray level width that can be displayed by the second data potential is larger than the gray level width that can be displayed by the first data potential.

Display device, semiconductor device, and electronic device

An electronic device including a flexible display panel is provided. The electronic device includes a display panel, a first component, a movable module, and a housing. The housing includes a first movable portion, a second component, and a third component. The third component includes a first space where the first component is stored. The display panel includes a flexible display portion. The display portion includes a first region, a second region, and a third region. The first region is fixed to the second component. The second region is fixed to the first component stored in the third component. The movable module has a function of holding a first angle that is formed between the second component and the third component by the first movable portion. The third region positioned between the first region and the second region has a function of forming a curved surface according to the first angle. The first component slides in the first space according to the first angle.

Electronic device

An object of the present invention is to provide a display device with high display quality. The display device of the present invention includes a pixel and a source driver circuit. The pixel includes first and second transistors (), a capacitor (), and a display element (). The source driver circuit is electrically connected to first and second wirings (). The first wiring () is electrically connected to one electrode of the capacitorand one electrode of the display element () through the first transistor (). The second wiring () is electrically connected to the other electrode of the capacitor () and the other electrode of the display element () through the second transistor ().

Display device including pixels and source drive circuit

Provided is an electronic device with high portability and/or high browsability. The electronic device includes first and second support bodies, a first hinge, and a flexible display panel. The first hinge has a first rotation axis and connects the first and second support bodies to each other, and the first and second support bodies are capable of relatively rotating on the first rotation axis. The display panel includes at least first and second portions supported by the first and second support bodies, respectively; the first rotation axis and a first plane including the display surface overlapping with the first portion or a second plane including the display surface overlapping with the second portion are parallel to each other; and each of a distance between the first rotation axis and the first plane or the second plane is greater than zero.

A semiconductor device which controls output of a plurality of voltages is provided. A power supply control circuit which drives the semiconductor device includes a reference voltage generating circuit and a stabilized power supply circuit. The stabilized power supply circuit has a function of outputting a voltage input from a sample-and-hold circuit and amplified by the amplifier circuit. A control circuit has a function of setting an output voltage of the power supply control circuit. The sample-and-hold circuit in the stabilized power supply circuit includes a transistor whose on/off state is controlled. In such a configuration, a voltage set by the control circuit can be held and output.

To provide a display device including a capacitor storing data, a display element performing display in accordance with the data, and switching elements connected to electrodes of the capacitor. In the display device, the voltage is held between the electrodes of the capacitor by turning the switching elements off; thus, the data can be stored even when supplying the power supply is stopped.

Display device

A semiconductor display device capable of performing clear display of a high definition image, in which flicker, vertical stripes, horizontal stripes, and diagonal stripes are unlikely to be seen by an observer, is provided. An image signal input from the outside to a RAM of a frame conversion portion in a semiconductor display device is written in, and the written in image signal is read out two times, in order. A period for reading out the image signal input to the RAM one time is shorter than a period for writing in the image signal to the RAM. The electric potentials of display signals input to each pixel in two consecutive frame periods are inverted, with the electric potential of opposing electrodes (opposing electric potential) as a reference, whereby the same image is displayed in a pixel portion in the two consecutive frame periods.

Semiconductor display device and method of driving a semiconductor display device

In the case of forming fine wires and the like by a droplet discharging apparatus to manufacture electric circuits, discharging controls including controls of a discharging position, a discharging timing, and the like are required to have very high accuracy. After forming design diagram data of an electric circuit by a CAD tool, the design diagram data is converted into first raster data, which is then converted into second raster data. The first raster data is a square grid regarding a dot pitch Xdp in a horizontal direction and a dot pitch Ydp in a perpendicular direction as one unit. The second raster data is a rectangular grid regarding the dot pitch Xdp in the horizontal direction and a dot pitch Ydp/V (V&#x3e;1) as one unit. It is to be noted that arbitrary discharging number is the same before and after the conversion from the first raster data to the second raster data.

Method for manufacturing semiconductor device

A semiconductor display device with which flicker, vertical striping, and horizontal striping are not easily seen, and a method of driving the semiconductor display device, are provided. Display signals inputted to a plurality of pixel electrodes have a positive or negative polarity based on the electric potential of an opposing electrode, and pixel electrodes to which display signals having a positive polarity are inputted, and pixel electrodes to which display signals having a negative polarity are inputted, differ for each frame period with the method of driving the semiconductor display device.
