A peristaltic pump in which a tube is stably supported by a platen so as to be stably collapsed by fingers during normal operation, whereas, when an excessively large collapsing force is exerted by one of the fingers, the excess portion of the force is absorbed without fail so as to realize a stable pumping operation. The level or ability for absorbing the excess collapsing force is easily adjustable in accordance with changes in conditions such as the elasticity of the tube and the size of the tube. The tube can be stably set in a proper position between the platen and a group of the fingers.

A transfusion pump 10 is that 1 when the door 13 is opened to set the tube, the clamping member 53 is retained in engagement with the first unclamp retaining portion 61 by manual operation so as to be set at the unclamp position, 2 when the door 13 is closed after the tube has been set, the clamping member 53 is released from its engagement with the first unclamp retaining portion 61 by the first unclamp releasing portion 63, and retained in engagement with the second unclamp retaining portion 64 so as to be set at the unclamp position, and 3 when the door 13 is opened after its closing, the clamping member 53 loses its engagement with the second unclamp retaining portion 64 so as to be set at the clamp position.

A transfusion pump includes a housing disposed to oppose a tube filled with a liquid to be supplied, a plurality of fingers mounted on the housing along a liquid supply direction to urge the tube, a drive shaft for pivotally reciprocally supporting the tube in a direction to urging the tube, cams engaged with the fingers rotatably supported by the drive shaft, a drive motor for sequentially driving the cams so that the fingers which are engaged with the corresponding cams sequentially urge the tube in the liquid supply direction, and a biasing member, arranged to be engaged with the fingers, for biasing the fingers to be in contact with the corresponding cams.
