A fixing device for fixing an autofocus module to a mirror box of an SLR camera having a quick-return mirror accommodated in the mirror box, wherein the quick-return mirror has a half mirror portion so that a light bundle of an object which is passed through the half mirror portion is reflected by a sub-mirror to be incident on the autofocus module. The fixing device includes an adjustment bracket which is provided separately from the mirror box, the adjustment bracket is fixed to an underside of the mirror box, and the auto focus module is fixed to the adjustment bracket.

Appropriate brake power may be always produced against rotation of the mirror in order to effectively avoid any harmful shocks to and bounces of the mirror under different conditions of the single lens reflex camera which may occur.

The clutch mechanism allows the rotative member to run idle relative to the locking lever when the force exceeds the predetermined value.

A lock releasing member is actuated when the photographing lens moves to the retracted position. An intermediate member is actuated by an actuating force of the lock releasing member. A clutch mechanism, provided between the locking lever and the intermediate member, rotatively moves the locking lever and the intermediate member together to a lock releasing position when a force applied to the locking lever is less than a predetermined value. The clutch mechanism allows the intermediate member to run idle relative to the locking lever when the force exceeds the predetermined value.

An electronic part, specifically a red-eye prevention lamp, is suspended in a gap between immediately adjacent curved internal walls of a camera.
