To the bottom of a display unit in a handy information terminal apparatus, a picture image scanner, a photographic camera or a printer may be physically and electrically mounted. Signal transfer is carried out between the handy information terminal apparatus and each of the scanner, the camera or and the printer. The handy information terminal apparatus is of a size which makes it easy to carry the handy information terminal apparatus and is combined with the scanner, the camera or the printer. The handy information terminal apparatus can be easily mounted on the scanner, the camera or the printer and obtained information can be accurately transmitted therebetween.

Handy information terminal apparatus

A portable wordprocessor has a main body and a display support assembly hinged to the main body. The main body has an information entry keyboard, a function keyboard, a control circuit board and a floppy disk drive. The information entry keyboard and the function keyboard have key tops the heights of which do not exceed the height of the portion of the main body which accommodates the floppy disk drive. The information entry keyboard is disposed along the front edge of the main body, while the function keyboard is disposed between the information entry keyboard and the rear edge of the main body. The floppy disk drive is disposed in lateral alignment with the function keyboard. The display support assembly supports a liquid crystal display device which includes a liquid crystal display portion and a liquid crystal control circuit board which is disposed around the liquid crystal display portion and has a thickness which does not exceed the thickness of the liquid crystal display portion.

Portable information processing apparatus and liquid crystal display

An information processing apparatus of built-in printer type which is excellent in portability and operability, comprising a printer paper receptacle arranged on the lower side of a keyboard, and a printer unit constructed on the side of the keyboard normally facing the user. Further, a printed paper receptacle is arranged on the rear side of a display unit. The paper ejection slit of the printer unit and the paper insertion slit of the printed paper receptacle are formed so as to be united when the display unit is closed. When a print operation is performed with the display unit closed, a sheet of paper printed on by the printer unit is received into the printed paper receptacle through the ejection slit as well as the insertion slit, automatically in the closed state of the apparatus.

Information processing apparatus

A document editing apparatus in which image data such as data representing an illustration is converted to total digital image data pertaining to a complete image. The total digital image data is divided into a predetermined number of pieces that each include a predetermined number of dots. The divided digital image data is stored in memory as external character data. The total digital image data is converted into a divided digital character data assembly and registered as a digital character data block in memory. Next, character data representing document data is inputted into the memory. The digital character data block and the character data exist together in memory as coexisting editing data. Since the digital image data exists together with the character data in memory, editing processing of document data including the character data and the digital image data can be carried out at one time during operation processing.

Document editing apparatus for editing document data and image data

A document edition system includes a microphone to input audio information; an analog to digital converter to convert the audio information into digital information; a memory unit to store the digital audio information into an external storage unit as information to be added to document information; a sound pressure display control unit to display the sound pressure information of the digital audio information to a display device; a digital to analog converter to regenerate the digital audio information from the memory unit into speech; and a device to add the audio information to an arbitrary position of the document information. The sound pressure display control unit can display the speech regenerating position from the digital to analog converter onto a sound pressure display waveform and also includes a device for displaying the sound pressure information by a predetermined pattern width or a tone. There is also provided a device for adding information denomination to the audio information and for storing the resultant audio information into the external storage unit; a device for reading out the audio information from the external storage unit by the information denominations added thereto upon reproduction; and a device for coupling and editing the plurality of readout audio information by their information denominations.

Signal transmission method and apparatus is an input unit for inputting signals through operation of keys. Addresses of the operated keys are extracted through scanning and sent to a signal processing unit, while signals from the signal processing unit are subsequently received. For allowing the scanning to be performed even at the times of signal sending and reception, the scanning period is divided into a number of intervals equal to the numbers of bits which constitute the signal to be transmitted, wherein the sending and reception of the signal to be transmitted are performed in synchronism with the scanning intervals.

During the check up of the already inputted document, the character line of the already inputted document is displayed with a continuous shifting and also the check up display speed for the display is set freely, so that the character line of the already inputted document can be edited easily.

A document editing apparatus comprises an apparatus body, an image reader and a detachable signal cable disconnectably connecting the image reader to the apparatus body. The image reader comprises an image sensor, a connector for connection to an externally inserted card-type semiconductor memory integrated circuit package for storing image data, a selector switch for selecting image data to be stored, a light-emitting diode for displaying an insufficient residual memory capacity of the package, and a control circuit. Image data read by the image sensor is selectively stored in the semiconductor memory integrated circuit package inserted into the image reader or in the apparatus body.

The printing is stopped when the print interrupt control code is detected during printing the document, and a train of characters is newly prepared under this condition. An image display apparatus comprises: a computer unit for reading out dot data of an image pattern from a character generator and writing into a bit map type graphic memory; a CRT controller for reading out the dot data from this bit map type graphic memory and displaying on a CRT monitor; and a time sharing control circuit for time sharingly controlling the access from the computer unit to the bit map type graphic memory and the access from the CRT controller to this memory. The character generator is provided with a ROM which is constituted such that a dot matrix of one character pattern is segmented on a byte unit basis in the horizontal direction of raster and these segmented sub-patterns are continuously stored in this ROM in the vertical direction of raster. The time sharing control circuit is provided with an address selector for selecting between address signals providing access to the graphic memory in a vertical scan sequence direction from the computer unit in response to a string instruction and address signals providing access in the horizontal scan direction from the CRT controller in accordance with a predetermined time sharing control.

Image display apparatus

In an information processing apparatus with an input device in the form of a keyboard, a multiplicity of switches associated with input keys on the keyboard are disposed in independent submatrices. When three or more keys in each submatrix are operated simultaneously, key input detection is stopped. The number of switches which are turned on in each scanning is registered and when the number is two at the most, addresses representative of the switches which are turned on are delivered out for inputting information. Key input at high speeds can be permitted and erroneous input can be prevented.
