The present invention relates to a high affinity monoclonal antibody for human G-CSF and to an enzyme immunoassay using said antibody. Specifically, the practice of the invention permits one skilled in the art to obtain monoclonal antibodies with the characteristics necessary to permit low-level detection of G-CSF in plasma of equal to or less than 0.5 pg/ml in an immunoassay without interference in human fluids.

The present invention relates to a high affinity monoclonal antibody and to an enzyme immunoassay of human G-CSF using the antibody. The trace amount of human G-CSF in samples such as body fluids from patients with hematological disorders can be measured without interference in the body fluids. For example, the measurable human G-CSF concentration in plasma is 0.5 pg/ml in minimum.

The novel polysaccharide possesses specific physical and chemical properties, and provides a chemotherapeutic agent such as a carcinostatic agent which can be used in the treatment of implanted tumors in mice and rats and an interferon inducer.
