An interference margin between a stator and a rotor is measured after a rotary electric machine is manufactured, and the measured value is stored in a memory of a life predicting device as an allowable limit value. The life predicting device calculates a wear amount of a bearing portion of the rotary electric machine from an operation state amount of the rotary electric machine, and determines whether or not the rotary electric machine reaches an end of a life and maintenance is needed based on the calculated value and the allowable limit value stored in the memory.

Life predicting device for vehicle component

A cooling apparatus includes: an intra-axle coolant supply unit supplying coolant into a rotation shaft of a rotating electrical machine; a coolant discharge unit pouring coolant onto the rotating electrical machine, wherein the coolant is conducted in a predetermined distribution ratio to the intra-axle coolant supply unit and the coolant discharge unit; a flow rate adjustment device capable of adjusting a supply flow rate of the coolant; and a control device functioning as: a determination device determining overheating of the rotating electrical machine caused by deviating allocation of the coolant to the intra-axle coolant supply unit in an increase direction as compared to the predetermined distribution ratio; and a recovery device controlling the flow rate adjustment device to implement a recovery operation in which the supply flow rate is decreased and then elevated, when the determination device has determined that the overheating of the rotating electrical machine is occurring.

Cooling apparatus for rotating electrical machine

A vehicle drive device includes: a casing within which lubricating oil is received; a rotating electrical machine provided within the casing, and including a stator with a coil; a temperature sensor provided within the casing; and a control device that functions as: a coil temperature estimation device executing a first temperature estimation in which correlation with a detected temperature is relatively high, and a second temperature estimation in which the correlation is relatively low; a determination device determining whether or not positional relationship between the temperature sensor and oil level is in a permitted state that permits the first temperature estimation; and a limitation device limiting load factor of the rotating electrical machine based on a result of the first temperature estimation when being in the permitted state, and limiting the load factor based on a result of the second temperature estimation when not being in the permitted state.

Vehicle drive device

A fuse unit includes: a fusible link which is connected to a battery terminal and of which a fuse is fused when overcurrent flows therein; and a holding mechanism including a base portion that is interposed between a post-standing surface and the battery terminal in a state in which the battery terminal is fastened to a battery post provided on the post-standing surface of a battery housing, and a holding portion that is connected to the base portion and holds the fusible link on the post-standing surface. Accordingly, a load acting on the battery post can be suppressed.

The initiation of the engine starting control after the detection of the released state of the clutch permits effective prevention of reversal of the rotating direction of the output gear from the reverse direction to the forward direction and a rise of the rotating speed of the output gear with a rise of the operating speed of the engine.

A vehicle control apparatus includes a first fuel-cut duration extending portion that, when a fuel-cut is being executed during deceleration of the vehicle, slows the decrease in the engine speed by executing a slip control of a lock-up clutch; and a second fuel-cut duration extending portion which, when the engine speed has decreased to a coast-downshift threshold, which is higher by a given amount than a fuel-cut cancellation threshold, while the slip control is being executed, allows to downshift the automatic transmission if the road on which the vehicle is presently traveling has a downhill gradient that is larger than a reference value.

In combination with a power transmission, a power transfer device comprises a first shaft rotatably mounted within a housing and having an input end for connection to an output shaft of the transmission and an output end for drive connection to a pair of rear-wheel axles, a second shaft rotatably mounted within the housing in parallel with the first shaft for drive connection to a pair of front-wheel axles, a drive gear rotatably mounted on the first shaft and connectable to the first shaft, a driven gear rotatably mounted on the second shaft and connectable to the second shaft, the driven gear being drivingly connected to the drive gear, and a pair of sleeves each mounted on the first and second shafts and shiftable between a first position where both the clutch sleeves are retained to connect the drive and driven gears to the first and second shafts and a second position where both the clutch sleeves are retained to disconnect the drive and driven gears from the first and second shafts, whereby both the drive and driven gears are stilled when two wheel drive is selected at the transfer device.
