A motorcycle has a frame assembly including a main frame supporting front and rear wheels on a central line thereof a connecting member is mounted on the main frame between the front and rear wheels, and a subframe is mounted on the connecting member and being capable of banking laterally about the connecting member. At least one of the front and rear wheels is a drive wheel. At least the drive wheel is capable of preventing the main frame from banking laterally. Centrifugal forces generated upon cornering are counterbalanced by centripetal forces produced when only the subframe banks laterally. The drive wheel supported on the main frame which does not bank has an increased road gripping force. Thus, high-speed cornering is made possible.

A motorcycle exhibiting improved cornering clearance has its front and rear wheels mounted to a fixed frame portion via front and rear suspensions. A moveable frame portion including the motorcycle seat is moveably mounted to the fixed frame portion and moves under control of the rider further inside a corner during cornering in order to shift the effective center of gravity of the motorcycle further inside the corner and thus further increase the lean angle of the entire motorcycle. Movement is provided via a pivot, slidable shaft, or a pair of parallel linkages. The moveable frame portion may include only the motorcycle seat or may include the tank, seat, and entire motorcycle fairing.

A device for connecting together tubes or pipes is disclosed, which comprises a cylindrical male coupler provided on one end of a first tube or pipe and having an engagement projection formed on the outer periphery, and a female coupler provided on one end of a second tube or pipe and having a helical engagement notch for receiving the engagement projection. The two couplers can be tightly coupled together by fitting the male coupler to the female coupler such that the engagement projection is received in the helical engagement notch and then turning the couplers relative to each other.

Device for connecting tubes

A device for connecting tubes or the like comprises a male coupler provided on one end of a tube or pipe to be connected, the male coupler having a cylindrical engagement portion having a tapered end and also having engagement projections formed on its outer periphery, a female coupler provided on one end of another tube or pipe, the female coupler having radially penetrating windows, and a lock member adapted to be inserted through the windows of the female coupler to engage the cylindrical engagement portion of the male member when inserted in the female member. The male and female couplers are held in engagement with each other by engagement between the lock member and the engagement projections of the male member and are readily disengaged from each other by pushing the lock member.

Device for connecting tubes or the like

The piston cylinder type damper comprises a cylinder connected to either member of the pair of a main body and an openable object, and a piston connected to the other member of the pair and adapted to fit into the cylinder and the piston incorporates therein a check valve adapted to allow the air in the cylinder to escape from the cylinder interior while the piston is driven into the cylinder by the movement of the openable object.

An illuminator of the type designed to be used as embedded in a framework is disclosed. A light push of the finger tip given to a lid on the front side of an illumination chamber causes the lid to open gently and, at the same time, puts on an electric bulb stowed in the illumination chamber, allowing it to illuminate the surrounding area.

Disclosed is a valve for preventing fuel from flowing from the vent of an automobile fuel tank comprising a valve compartment and a float vertically movable in the valve compartment, said float having a longitudinal hole communicating with vent holes made in the ceiling of the flat body or in the seat of a head fixed to the ceiling of the float body, thereby allowing the vapor of the fuel to ascend through the longitudinal hole of the float body and fill the upper space defined by the inner surface of the valve compartment and the outer surface of the head of the float thus to maintain the same pressure in the upper space as in the fuel tank at all times. Thus, the float can descend immediately when the automobile returns from an inclined position to the horizontal position.

Disclosed is a device for holding a linear article on a support body, consisting of a pair of plastic counterparts each comprising a base, an article holding means integrally provided on the upper surface of the base, a notched rod integrally provided on the upper surface of the base and extending outward from one front corner of the base, a guide channel having a catch projection therein and extending inward from the other front corner of the base, and an engaging leg integrally provided on the undersurface of the base. In use a pair of plastic counterparts are engaged with each other by inserting the notched rod of each counterpart into the guide channel of the other counterparts, and the counterparts thus engaged are placed across the width of a support plate with the legs of the counterparts abutting the opposite edges of the support plate. The combined counterparts may also be placed across an opening of a support plate with the legs in the opening, with the holding device being fixed to the support by bringing the counterparts closer to each other in the former instance until their legs have engaged the opposite edges of the width or away from each other in the latter instance so the legs engage opposite edges of the opening, thus fixing the holder to the support firmly irrespective of the width of the support or the size of the hole therein.

Disclosed is a binder for binding a bundle of elongated bodies comprising a closed loop and a pair of converging-and-diverging arms integrally connected to the opposite middle portions of the loop and rising therefrom. In use a bundle of elongated bodies are pushed in between the opposite arms, and then the bundle is bound by intertwisting the arms around the bundle. A binder according to this invention assures a tight binding irrespective of the size of the bundle.

A lid locking device of a simple construction is fastened strongly to a panel by a simple procedure comprising the steps of setting a stopper energized with a spring in a cylindrical case provided with a contact flange formed on the outer peripheral surface of the cylinder surrounding an opening thereof, inserting the cylindrical case into an opening formed in a panel containing an inlet to the gasoline tank in an automobile and bringing the contact flange against the rear side of the panel, and fastening a cap to the flange on the front side of the panel.

Lid locking device

A retainer device for the glass of a car window has a baseplate provided at one side with means to allow the attachment of the baseplate to the window frame of the car, and at the other side with an upright member in which there is an opening. Inside this opening there is a support member, on which is placed a piece of fabric, on which there is an area of flock. When the device is affixed to the edge of the window frame, with the waist molding held in position, the flock area of the fabric is pressed into contact with the window-glass by the support member, thereby keeping the glass steady.

Retainer device for car wind-up window

A filter for use in a gasoline tank comprises a filter body provided in the upper portion thereof with an insertion hole for permitting passage of a suction pipe possessing a radially bulged engaging portion, resilient arms extended directly from the upper edge of the filter body or from an upper lid to be fitted to the filter body, and a retaining member supported in position by the resilient arms. The suction pipe can be securely retained at a proper position on the filter without entailing any unwanted motion within the gasoline tank by simply inserting the suction pipe having the radially bulged engaging portion through the insertion hole of the filter body.
