A modular jack assembly with an indicator comprises a housing ( ) made of an insulative material and consisting of two tiers, each tier having at least one through-hole ( ) and at least one opening ( or ) for receiving a mating connector. The modular assembly further comprises at least one light transmission means ( D) for transmitting light, which is provided in the through-hole and has a light receiving member ( ) at one end for receiving light from a corresponding light source ( OR ) mounted on a board outside of the modular jack assembly and disposed in a line along a rear wall of the housing and an indicator member at the other end for displaying the light to the outside of the modular jack assembly. The transmission means provided in the through-hole of an upper tier extends upwardly from the light receiving member along the rear wall, bent at right angles into an upper wall of the upper tier and then bent diagonally along the upper wall of the upper tier. The light transmission means provided in the through-hole of a lower tier extends upwardly from the light receiving member along the rear wall and bent at right angles into and through an upper wall of the lower tier.

An electgromagnetic interference resistant electrical connector consisting of an electrical plug and an electrical receptacle. The electrical plug includes an insulating housing having a floor portion which defines a fitting cavity; first contact elements arranged on a surface of the floor portion such that their contact sections are exposed in the fitting cavity; first shield plate provided on the other surface of the floor portion; and second shield plate provided above the contact sections to cover the fitting cavity. The electrical receptacle includes an insulating housing having contact support plate; second contact elements arranged on the contact support plate such that their contact sections are exposed in the fitting cavity; and a shield case having a ceiling portion close to the contact support plate and a floor portion opposed to the second contact sections such that when both the electrical plug and receptacle are connected to each other, the first and second contact sections are brought into contact with each other in the fitting cavity, and the first and second shield plate are brought into contact with the ceiling and floor portion of the shield case, respectively, so as to enclose both the floor portion and the contact support plate.

EMI resistant electrical connector

An electrical connector to which insulated conductors of a multiconductor cable are connected by insulation piercing, which includes an insulation housing having a front recess and a rear recess; a plurality of contacts arranged in the insulation housing so that their contacting sections are exposed in the front recess and their piercing sections project upwardly in the rear recess; and a guide block disposed in the rear recess and having a lateral slot in which the insulated conductors are arranged side by side at regular intervals, a plurality of vertical slots into which the piercing sections are inserted, and a deformation groove provided behind the vertical slots for securing the insulated conductors to the guide block when it is deformed.

A surface mount type electrical connector comprising an insulating housing having a plurality of contact receiving apertures and a plurality of contacts, each having a front contacting section, an intermediate section, and a rear section. The rear section is movably placed in a channel of the insulating housing so as to not only protect from foreign objects making short circuit or deformation but also absorb all the applied stresses uniformly. The insulating housing is mounted with a pair of mounting members to prevent warping or separation from the printed circuit board.

Surface mount type electrical connector

A locking mechanism for connectors comprises a locking member having an engaging portion, a pressing portion and a fulcrum between the engaging portion and the pressing portion. The fulcrum of the locking member has a bent portion mounted around a fulcrum projection formed on a connector cover. The connector cover is formed with a wall extending inside of the projection. The pressing portion is formed with an elastic tongue piece for displacing outwardly the pressing portion and inwardly the engaging portion about the projection with the free end of the tongue piece in contact with the wall when the fulcrum is mounted on the projection, whereby the engaging portion is externally swung open about the projection when the pressing portion is pressed inwardly against the displacing force of the tongue piece. The pressing portion is formed with a stopper for stopping the pressing portion from further inwardly moving by making contact with the extension of the wall.

Locking mechanism for connectors

A mechanism for locking the connection between a first electrical connector having a first insulating housing with contacts arranged therein and a conducting connector case surrounding said insulating housing and a second electrical connector having a second insulating housing with contact arranged therein. It comprises a locking member extending along at least one side of said first electrical connector between said insulating housing and said conducting case; a first connection member fitted between said insulating housing and said locking member for protecting said locking member against physical damage and electronic equipment against electrostatic damage; a second connection member provided on the insulating housing side of said second electrical connector corresponding to said first connector side on which said locking member and the connection member are mounted.

A locking device for locking the coupling of a connector plug with a connector receptacle comprises a metal engaging piece provided at one of the connector plug and receptacle and a resin engaging portion provided at the other to be engaged by the metal engaging piece. A metal piece is mounted on the engaging part of the resin engaging portion.

Locking device for connector

A cord clamping mechanism comprises a cord clamp and a clamp mounting base for mounting the cord clamp. The cord clamp has a ring-shaped portion for passing a cord to be clamped, and a pair of legs extending from both ends of the ring-shaped portion for clamping the cord passed through the ring-shaped portion when the legs are closed. The legs are formed with openings for passing a clamping screw for closing the clamp and mounting fixedly on the base. The base is formed with a threaded opening for receiving the screw. The cord clamping mechanism further comprises a guiding projection to be inserted into the opening at a position near the ring-shaped portion between the screw and the ring-shaped portion when the clamp is mounted on the base.

A lock pin for mounting a board-mount type connector on a board is formed of an elastic material and comprises an upper lateral arm, a pair of spaced long central legs respectively extending downwardly from the center of the upper lateral arm and a pair of spaced short outside legs respectively extending downwardly from the upper lateral arm along the outsides of the central legs. The central legs are adapted to be inserted into a lock pin mounting opening formed at one member of the connector from the upper surface side of the one member to project from the lower surface side of the one member over a considerable length and be inserted into a lock pin inserting opening of the board. The central legs are respectively formed at the lower ends thereof with side projections to be engaged with the periphery of the lock pin inserting opening. The outside legs are respectively formed at the lower ends thereof with side projections to be engaged with shoulders formed at the periphery of the lock pin mounting opening of the one member.
