An engine off natural vacuum (EONV) evaporative fuel leak check system includes a fuel tank, a heat exchanger, an air duct, a fan, a fuel temperature sensor, and a controller. The fan directs air onto the heat exchanger, and the heat exchanger heats air passing around the heat exchanger in a heat exchange process using heat from engine coolant within the heat exchanger. The air duct extends between the fuel tank and the heat exchanger and the fan moves the heated air through the air duct toward the fuel tank. The controller is configured to control the fan for moving the heated air toward the fuel tank based on a temperature of the fuel within the fuel tank, as detected by the fuel temperature sensor.

Evaporative fuel leak check system

A first plate portion covers one opening of a pump chamber of a tubular portion, and a second plate portion covers the other opening of the pump chamber along a center axis of the tubular portion. A hole forming portion is equipped to an outside of the tubular portion to form a connection hole. A length of the hole forming portion along the center axis is less than or equal to a length of the tubular portion along the center axis. A first imaginary line connects a center of an outer opening of the connection hole with a point on the center axis. The first imaginary line intersects perpendicularly with the center axis. A length of the connection hole in a direction perpendicular to both the first imaginary line and the center axis is greater than a length of the connection hole along the center axis.

Vane pump and fuel vapor leakage detection device using the same

An inspection apparatus includes a pressure sensor, a reference orifice, a pump, and a switching valve. The reference orifice is disposed in a first communication passage communicating a pressure passage receiving the pressure sensor, with a tank passage communicating with a fuel tank. The pump depressurizing or pressurizing the pressure passage includes an intake port and a discharge port, and one of which communicates with an atmospheric passage communicating with the atmosphere and the other one communicates with the pressure passage. The switching valve and switches between a state shutting off a communication of a second communication passage that leads to the pressure passage and passages other than the pressure passage and communicating the atmospheric passage with the tank passage and a state shutting off a communication of the atmospheric passage and passages other than the pump and the atmosphere and communicating the second communication passage with the tank passage.

Inspection apparatus and inspection method

A filter element is accommodated in a filter case. A housing is affixed to the filter case. A partition plate is located between the filter case and the housing. A switching valve is equipped in the housing. The switching valve includes a solenoid actuator, a valve, and a valve seat member. A vibration transmission member is located on one side in a driving direction of the valve relative to the valve seat member. The vibration transmission member is in contact with the switching valve at one end and is in contact with the partition plate at the other end. The vibration transmission member transmits oscillation, which is caused when the valve is seated on the valve seat, to the filter element through the partition plate.

Fuel vapor leakage detection device and method for controlling the same

A housing receiving a switching valve, a pressure sensor, and a pump includes a tubular portion having an inner wall provided with a support portion into which an attachment portion is inserted. The pump includes a pump portion and a motor portion which are connected to the attachment portion. The support portion receives an elastic member abutting on the attachment portion. The elastic member prevents a vibration generated due to an operation of the pump from being transmitted to the tubular portion. Since the pump is supported by a cover through a pressure detection pipe including a pressure detection passage and is supported by the tubular portion through the elastic member and the support portion, the pump prevents from vibrating by its weight. Therefore, a noise radiated out of the housing due to the vibration transmitted from the pump to the housing can be reduced.

Fuel-vapor leakage detector

A first tubular portion has a cross sectional shape which is a non-perfect circle relative to an axis thereof. A second tubular portion is disposed concentrically with the first tubular portion. The second tubular portion has a cross sectional shape relative to its axis, which is a congruent shape of the cross sectional shape of the first tubular portion. A sealing member is disposed between the first tubular portion and the second tubular portion for sealing therebetween. The sealing member has a cross sectional shape of which length parallel to its axis is greater than length which is perpendicular to the axis.

Assembling unit, pump and fuel-vapor-leakage check system

An ECU controls a selector valve so as to connect a first pump passage and a second pump passage, and determines whether a fuel vapor leak from a fuel tank is in an allowable range based on a pressure in the fuel tank which is detected by a pressure sensor while a pump is driven to decrease a pressure in the fuel tank. The ECU opens a purge valve, whereby the fuel vapor adsorbed by a canister is introduce into an engine through an intake passage. The ECU controls the selector valve to connect a first pump passage and the second pump passage so as to circulate an atmospheric air in the pump while the purge valve is opened to introduce the fuel vapor into the internal combustion engine, whereby a foreign matter in the pump can be removed.

Fuel vapor treatment system

A fuel vapor purge device includes a canister connected to an internal combustion engine and a fuel tank via a purge passage to adsorb and hold a part of fuel vapor, a switch valve connected to the canister and to an atmosphere, and a pump connected to the switch valve via a pump passage and to the atmosphere via an atmosphere passage. The pump is capable of depressurizing or pressurizing an interior of the fuel tank, and the switch valve switches connection of the canister between with the atmosphere and with the pump. The fuel vapor purge device further includes a seal valve provided in the pump passage to open or close the pump passage depending on a pressure in the atmosphere passage.

Fuel vapor purge device

An accelerator capable of detecting a turning angle of an accelerator pedal with high accuracy includes a bearing part, an urging part, an accelerator pedal, a stopper, and a turning angle sensor. The accelerator pedal has a turning shaft supported by the bearing part and is turned forward when a depressing force is applied thereto and is turned reversely when the urging force of the urging part is applied thereto. The stopper abuts against the accelerator pedal to limit the reverse turn of the accelerator pedal and substantially simultaneously guides the accelerator pedal in a direction equivalent to that which the urging force is applied. The turning angle sensor detects the turning angle of the accelerator pedal.

Accelerator

A pedal module includes a double coil spring, a pedal, and a damping part. The double coil spring includes an outside coil and an inside coil. The pedal turns in a forward direction when a depressing force is applied thereto and turns in a reverse direction when a restoring force of the double coil spring is applied thereto. The damping part has an inserting portion disposed between the outside coil and the inside coil. The inserting portion includes a middle portion and a first side end portion disposed relative to each other in a width direction that corresponds to a circumferential direction of the double coil spring. The middle portion crosses a radial axis of the double coil spring and protrudes beyond the first side end portion toward an axial end of the double coil spring.

Pedal module

A rotation angle detector for improving the detection accuracy of a rotation angle has a movable shaft, a bearing portion for pivotably bearing against the movable shaft, a detection portion for detecting a rotation angle of the movable shaft, and a supporting portion for supporting the detection portion. The bearing portion and the supporting portion are integrally formed of the same material. As a result, since the bearing portion and the supporting portion are accurately aligned with each other, displacement of the movable shaft with respect to the detection portion can be prevented. Thus, the detection accuracy of the movable shaft rotation angle can be improved.

Rotation angle detector

In an idle speed control valve, an adjusting screw is inserted into a hole of a valve body and passes through a center of a coil provided in the valve body. The adjusting screw has a ring-shaped flexible projection on its outer periphery between a head portion and a threaded portion thereof to prevent a sealing material from entering. An outer diameter of the projection is equal to or slightly larger than an inner diameter of the hole. Therefore, when the adjusting screw is inserted into the hole, a peak of the projection contacts an inner wall of the hole. The projection may be integrally molded with the adjusting screw. A ring-shaped projection may be provided on a thin wall portion of the adjusting screw.

Idle speed control valve

A flow control valve having a seating surface formed on a valve element to contact a valve seat when the valve is closed has a shape of a part of a hypothetical spherical surface having a spherical center at a center of a supporting member. Therefore, the distance from the center of the supporting member to the seating surface is kept constant, and the valve element can be seated at a periphery of the valve seat without a gap, even if the shaft is inclined. Thus, the valve leakage is reduced. The supporting member supports a shaft connected to the valve element movable in an axial direction of the shaft. The center of the supporting member is aligned with a center of the valve seat. Movement of the supporting member in a radial direction of the supporting member is prohibited. Therefore, the center of the supporting member is not displaced from the center of the valve seat in the radial direction. Accordingly, the displacement of the shaft in the radial direction can be prevented. Therefore, the valve element is certainly seated on the valve seat, and the valve leakage is prevented.
