A pipe liner bag everting nozzle is provided for allowing an operator to freely access a manhole during a lining operation. A pipe liner bag everting nozzle comprises a guide tube fixing end for fixing one end of a guide tube, and a pipe liner bag fixing end for fixing a folded end of an uneverted pipe liner bag passed through the guide tube, wherein the guide tube fixing end has a diameter smaller than a diameter of the pipe liner bag fixing end. Since a guide tube having a smaller diameter than that of a pipe line to be repaired (or the pipe liner bag) can be used, a sufficient gap is formed between the guide tube and the manhole, thereby allowing the operator to freely access the manhole during the lining operation for inspection and confirmation of a lining situation.

Pipe liner bag everting nozzle and pipe lining method

A pipe liner bag includes a tubular resin absorbent material formed from a sheet of such material. Opposing ends of the sheet is seamed together to form the tubular shape. A hardenable resin is impregnated in the resin absorbent material. A seam protection tape covers an outer surface of the seamed portion. An air-tight plastic film covers the remainder of the outer surface. A sealing ribbon tape, which is larger than the seam protection tape, is affixed over the seam protection tape to air-tightly seal the seamed portion.

Pipe liner bag

A liner bag for a manhole can have an improved durability after hardening with a fluid pressure barrier film left on the inner wall of a lined manhole, and a method of lining a manhole using the liner bag is capable of realizing a reduction in the number of steps involved in a manhole lining process to reduce a working time and a working cost. The liner bag for a manhole has an outer-layer liner bag including a first bag-shaped resin absorbent material, and an unhardened liquid hardenable resin impregnated in the first bag-shaped resin absorbent material, and an inner-layer liner bag including a second bag-shaped resin absorbent material, a highly air-tight plastic film coated over an inner surface of the second bag-shaped resin absorbent material, and an unhardened liquid hardenable resin impregnated in the second bag-shaped resin absorbent material, wherein the inner-layer liner bag has a thickness smaller than the outer-layer liner bag, and the inner-layer liner bag being inserted in the outer-layer liner bag. With the liner bag thus configure, since the manhole lining method performed using the manhole liner bag eliminates the necessity of stripping off the plastic film functioning as a fluid pressure barrier liner from the hardened liner bag and wasting the same, as before, it is possible to realize a reduction in the number of steps involved in the lining process, a working term, and a working cost.

Liner bag for manhole and method of lining a manhole

A method of manufacturing a pipe liner bag is provided for reliably sealing a seam of a resin absorbent material with simple operations without forming pin holes through the resin absorbent material. The pipe liner bag comprises a tubular resin absorbent material having an outer surface covered with a highly air-tight plastic film and a hardenable resin impregnated in the tubular resin absorbent material. A plastic film is welded on a surface of a strip-like resin absorbent material. The plastic film has a width smaller than the resin absorbent material which has sewing margins in both end portions in a width direction. The resin absorbent material is folded such that the plastic film is exposed. Both edges of the resin absorbent material in the width direction are laid one on top of the other. The overlapping portions of the resin absorbent material is lock sewed to form a tubular resin absorbent material. A seam protection tape is welded or adhered to the sewing margin including a seam of the resin absorbent material. A sealing ribbon tape having a width larger than the seam protection tape is welded or adhered over the seam protection tape to air-tight seal the seam.

Method of manufacturing pipe liner bag

A method of manufacturing a pipe liner bag which is composed of a tubular resin absorbent material having an outer surface covered with a highly air-tight plastic film and a hardenable resin impregnated in the tubular resin absorbent material. The method involves folding a strip-shaped resin absorbent material and aligning both ends thereof in the width direction, straight sewing overlapped portions to form a tubular resin absorbent material while leaving a sewing margin, turning the tubular resin absorbent material inside out such that a previous inner surface thereof appears outside, and welding or adhering a plastic film entirely or partially on the outer surface of the tubular resin absorbent material to air-tight seal the outer surface. The method can reduce a time required for a joining operation and simplifying a sealing operation after both ends of the strip-shaped resin absorbent material have been joined.

Method of manufacturing a pipe liner bag

A branch pipe liner bag immune to damage caused by a cutter is provided. In the branch pipe liner bag having a flange formed at an end of a hardenable resin impregnated bag which comprises a tubular resin-absorbent material impregnated with an unhardened liquid hardenable resin, a cylindrical anti-piercing protector 3 is embedded adjacent to the flange. According to a pipe lining method implemented using the branch pipe liner bag according to the present invention, the branch pipe liner bag adjacent to the flange is, after a branch pipe is lined, protected by the anti-piercing protector, and therefore, in a piercing work thereafter of a main pipe liner bag, the branch pipe liner bag is immune from damage caused by a cutter, thereby eliminating a problem such as infiltration of the underground water into the main pipe from a damaged portion.

Branch pipe liner bag and pipe lining method

A branch pipe lining method is provided for maintaining a favorable surface state on the inner surface of a lined branch pipe. The branch pipe lining method utilizes a branch pipe liner bag composed of a tubular resin-absorbent material having a flange formed at one end thereof, wherein the outer surface of the tubular resin-absorbent material is covered with a highly air-tight film, and the tubular resin-absorbent material is impregnated with an unhardened hardenable resin, and a cylindrical fluid pressure sealing member attached to the inner surface of the flange. A cylindrical front end nozzle attached to an opening at one end of a pressure bag is inserting into the fluid pressure sealing member of the branch pipe liner bag, and the front end nozzle and the fluid pressure sealing member are sealed by an elastic member interposed therebetween. Then, a pressurized fluid is supplied into the pressure bag, with the flange of the branch pipe liner bag being in close contact with an opening of a branch pipe, to evert and insert the branch pipe liner bag into the branch pipe from a main pipe toward the ground. The hardenable resin impregnated in the branch pipe liner bag is hardened with the inserted branch pipe liner bag being pressed onto an inner wall of the branch pipe, followed by pulling the front end nozzle out from the fluid pressure sealing member to tear the pressure bag off the branch pipe liner bag.

Branch pipe liner bag and branch pipe lining method

The present invention provides a method of readily manufacturing a multi-layer pipe liner bag with a good workability. A guiding tube is inserted into an outer layer composed of a tubular resin absorbent material and a plastic film coated over the outer periphery of the tubular resin absorbent material. An inner layer composed of another tubular resin absorbent material is inserted into the guiding tube, and the guiding tube is extracted with the outer layer and the inner layer being fixed. The tubular resin absorbent materials of the outer layer and the inner layer are with thermosetting resin to complete the pipe liner bag. Since the outer layer and the inner layer are manufactured separately, the manufacturing of the respective layers can be performed with a good workability. Also advantageously, the plastic film covering the outer surface of the outer layer can be prevented from scratches and so on.

A branch pipe lining bag wherein an annular protective member is previously fixed on a flange which is provided adjoined to an open end of a tubular bag. This tubular bag is soaked with a hardenable liquid resin and adapted to be everted under fluid pressure into a branch pipe. The protective member can be attached on the marginal periphery of the branch pipe opening to the main pipe simultaneously at the end of the branch pipe lining, irrespective of the inner diameter of the main pipe. Also, a pipe lining method wherein the annular protective member fixed on the flange is prepared previously and then the flange is connected to the part of the main pipe where the branch pipe opens. The main pipe lining bag can be bored without any damage irrespective of both the main pipe diameter and the branch pipe diameter or any connecting situations.

Branch pipe lining bag and pipe lining method

A pipe lining method is provided for accurately cutting or punching out a pipe liner bag after being lined on an inner wall of a pipe with a good operability while preventing an operation environment from being contaminated. A fluid pressure is applied to act on a pipe liner bag introduced in a pipe to press the pipe liner bag onto the inner wall of the pipe. A thickness reducing member is brought into contact with the outer surface of the pipe liner bag to partially reduce the thickness of the pipe liner bag. A predetermined pipe lining operation with the above state maintained. Then, an external force is applied to a thickness reduced portion of the pipe liner bag to break the portion.

Pipe lining method

A pipe lining method is provided for simply positioning a flange of a branch pipe liner bag to a branch pipe opening of a main pipe in a short period of time, and preventing the branch pipe liner bag from having a locally insufficient strength. A branch pipe liner bag is everted and inserted into a branch pipe with a fluid pressure. With the branch pipe liner bag pressed onto the inner wall of the branch pipe, a hardenable resin impregnated in the branch pipe liner bag is hardened to line the branch pipe. Then, a main pipe liner bag is everted and inserted into a main pipe with a fluid pressure. With the main pipe liner bag pressed onto the inner wall of the main pipe, a hardenable resin impregnated in the main pipe liner bag is hardened to line the main pipe. The fluid pressure acting inside the main pipe liner bag is adjusted such that a portion of the hardenable resin impregnated in the main pipe liner bag is oozed out. The oozed hardenable resin is introduced into a clearance space, and hardened therein.

A pipe lining method provides for precise cutting of a main pipe liner bag along a branch pipe opening using a cutter while preventing the inner wall of a branch pipe and the cutter from damages. After a cutting protection member is attached along the periphery of a branch pipe opening of a main pipe, the main pipe is lined using a main pipe liner bag. Then, a cutter of a cutting robot introduced into the main pipe is driven to cut away a portion of the main pipe liner bag covering a branch pipe opening. Since the cutting protection member functions as a guide for the cutter when cutting the portion of the main pipe liner bag covering the branch pipe opening as well as functions as a protection member for protecting the inner wall of the branch pipe, thereby making it possible to precisely cut the main pipe liner bag along the branch pipe opening using the cutter and to prevent the inner wall of the branch pipe and the cutter from damages.

A method for impregnating a resin-absorbable tubular liner with a hardenable liquid resin: (a) a hose is connected to a vacuum pump; (b) the hose is inserted into the liner in a manner such that the open end of the hose comes close to, but sufficiently distant from, one end of the liner; (c) the other end of the tubular liner is closed over the hose in a manner such that the hose can freely slide through the closed end of the tubular liner; (d) a predetermined amount of the hardenable liquid resin is injected into the tubular liner through the open end of the tubular liner; (d') the open end of the tubular liner is substantially closed by placing it between a pair of rollers; and (e) the vacuum pump is operated to evacuate the hose while at the same time the hose and/or the resin-absorbable tubular liner are moved in a manner such that the length of the hose inside the liner is reduced.

Method for impregnating a tubular resin-absorbable liner with resin

A pipe liner bag is provided with improved anti-peeling and anti-bursting properties by ensuring a high anti-peeling strength of the plastic film to be employed. The pipe liner bag has a tubular resin absorbent material, the outer surface of which is coated with a highly air-tight plastic film, and a hardenable resin impregnated in the tubular resin absorbent material. The tubular resin absorbent material is formed of tubular unwoven fabric subjected to the needle punching processing, where a side of the tubular unwoven fabric having stuck-out needles protruding therefrom is exposed to the outside to serve as an outer surface of the tubular resin absorbent material. The outer surface is coated with a plastic film.
