A method for calibrating a phased array antenna is provided. The phased array antenna includes multiple transmission modules each including a phase shifter that changes a phase of a high frequency signal output from a signal source, an amplifier that amplifies an amplitude of the high frequency signal, and a transmission antenna that converts the high frequency signal into a radio wave, and a reception module including a reception antenna. The method includes a step of receiving, by the reception antenna, a reflected wave that is a radio wave transmitted from the transmission antenna of each of the multiple transmission modules and reflected outside the phased array antenna, and a step of adjusting the phase shifter and the amplifier of each of the multiple transmission modules based on an amplitude and a phase of the reflected wave received.

A waveguide-microstrip line converter includes a waveguide having an open end, a dielectric substrate having a first surface facing the open end and a second surface facing the opposite direction to the first surface, a ground conductor provided on the first surface and connected to the open end, the ground conductor being provided with a slot in a region enclosed by the end face of the open end, and a line conductor provided on the second surface. The line conductor includes a conversion section that performs power conversion between the line conductor and the waveguide, a microstrip line-provided at a distance from the conversion section in a first direction, and an impedance transformer provided between the conversion section and the microstrip line, for performing impedance matching between the conversion section and the microstrip line. A hole is formed in the conversion section.

An antenna device includes a transmitting antenna including a transmission channel, a transmitting antenna including a transmission channel, a transmitting antenna including a transmission channel, a transmitting antenna including a transmission channel, and a receiving antenna including reception channels. An interval between the transmitting antenna and the transmitting antenna is wider than an overall width of the receiving antenna. An interval between the transmitting antenna and the transmitting antenna is narrower than an interval between adjacent channels among the reception channels.

A waveguide microstrip line converter includes: a waveguide; a dielectric substrate; a ground conductor provided with a slot; a line conductor; and a conductor located at a distance from the line conductor and adjacent to the line conductor. The line conductor includes a microstrip line, a conversion unit, a first impedance transforming unit, a second impedance transforming unit, and a third impedance transforming unit, the microstrip line having a first line width, the conversion unit being located immediately above the slot and having a second line width larger than the first line width, the first impedance transforming unit, the second impedance transforming unit, and the third impedance transforming unit extending in a first direction from the conversion unit and having a role in impedance matching between the microstrip line and the conversion unit. The conductor is adjacent to at least part of the conversion unit of the line conductor.

Waveguide microstrip line converter

A radar device includes a transmission antenna and a reception antenna that is a structure different from the transmission antenna. The transmission antenna includes a single or a plurality of transmission element antennae and a transmission dielectric substrate where the single or the plurality of transmission element antennae is positioned, and a length in a first direction of the transmission antenna is longer than a length in a second direction of the transmission antenna, and the second direction is orthogonal to the first direction. The reception antenna includes a single or a plurality of reception element antennae and a reception dielectric substrate where the single or the plurality of reception element antennae is positioned, a length in a third direction of the reception antenna is longer than a length in a fourth direction of the reception antenna, and the fourth direction is orthogonal to the third direction.

Radar device

A waveguide microstrip line converter includes a waveguide, a dielectric substrate, a ground conductor including a slot, and a line conductor. The line conductor includes a first section that is a microstrip line having a first line width, a conversion unit that is a second section positioned immediately above the slot and having a second line width greater than the first line width, and a third section extending from the second section in a first direction and performing impedance matching between the first section and the second section. One of the opposite ends of the third section in the first direction is connected to the second section. The first section extends in a second direction perpendicular to the first direction continuously from the other end of the opposite ends of the third section.

Antenna device

A waveguide microstrip line converter includes a dielectric substrate, a ground conductor, and a line conductor. The ground conductor is provided on a first surface of the dielectric substrate and is joined to an open end that is an end portion of the waveguide. The slot is formed in a region surrounded by an opening edge portion of the open end of the ground conductor. The line conductor is provided on a second surface of the dielectric substrate. The line conductor includes first portions that are the microstrip lines, a second portion located just above the slot, and third portions responsible for impedance matching between the first portions and the second portion. The third portions each include an impedance transforming unit that is a portion having a wider line width than the first portions.

Included are: a radar main unit for emitting a radar wave and receiving a reflection wave of the radar wave reflected by an object; and a dielectric substrate in which multiple matching layers each having a protruded shape are regularly arranged on one surface of the dielectric substrate, and the radar wave emitted from the radar main unit enters the multiple matching layers in a state where the other-surface side of the dielectric substrate is attached to a windshield.

An antenna device includes an array antenna formed of five radiating elements arrayed on a dielectric substrate, and a feeder circuit that feeds a high frequency signal to the radiating elements making up the array antenna. The five radiating elements are arrayed on a first straight line drawn in a direction horizontal to the ground, and an excitation voltage of the radiating element positioned at the center of the array is set to be 2.2 times or more an average value of excitation voltages of the other radiating elements.

A feeder circuit includes: a first linehaving first and second ends; a second linehaving first and second ends; a third linehaving first and second ends; a first combinerconfigured to combine signals output from the second ends of the first and second linesand; a first coupling portionconfigured to electrically couple portions of the first and third lines to each other; and a second coupling portionconfigured to electrically couple portions of the second and third lines to each other in a manner that allows a signal reaching the first combiner from the first end of the third line through the first coupling portion and a signal reaching the first combiner from the first end of the third line through the second coupling portion, to be cancelled out.

Feeder circuit

A connecting structure of a waveguide converter includes a circuit substrate in which a hollow waveguide that propagates a high frequency signal is formed in a pierced manner; and an antenna substrate that is layered on the circuit substrate, and in which a converter that is arranged at a connecting point with the hollow waveguide and a strip line that extends from the converter and that propagates the high frequency signal are provided. A choke circuit to shield a leak of the high frequency signal is arranged around the hollow waveguide on a surface of the circuit substrate opposing to the antenna substrate so as to surround the hollow waveguide keeping a predetermined interval from the hollow waveguide, and the circuit substrate and the antenna substrate are fixed to each other by adhesive that is arranged at a position outside the choke circuit, between the substrates.

A process of providing the matching conductoris easy, a structure that can be manufactured at low cost is obtained, and a power distribution ratio can be set at an arbitrary ratio.

A choke structure including: an inside surface conductive pattern formed in the surrounding of a through hole on the surface of a dielectric substrate opposing a waveguide substrate; an outside surface conductive pattern formed in the surrounding of the inside surface conductive pattern positioned apart therefrom; a conductor opening provided between the inside surface conductive pattern and the outside surface conductive pattern and in which a dielectric member is exposed; a dielectric transmission path short-circuited at an end that is formed by an inner layer conductor, which is provided away from the conductor opening by a predetermined distance in the layer-stacking direction of the dielectric substrate; and a plurality of penetrating conductors, which connect the inner layer conductor to the inside surface conductive pattern.
