A crystal vibrator that includes a crystal vibration element having a crystal piece and a pair of electrodes that face each other with the crystal piece interposed therebetween; and a holder that accommodates the crystal vibration element. At least one electrode of the pair of electrodes includes an upper layer containing gold and a lower layer between the crystal piece and the upper layer and containing chromium. A surface of the at least one electrode contains a plurality of crystal grains composed of gold and a chromium compound along grain boundaries between the plurality of crystal grains. An area percentage of the plurality of crystal grains is equal to or more than 35% and equal to or less than 60% when the surface of the at least one electrode is viewed in a plan view thereof.

Piezoelectric vibrator and manufacturing method therefor

A piezoelectric vibrator having a piezoelectric vibration element that includes a piezoelectric piece and a pair of electrodes that face each other with the piezoelectric piece interposed therebetween; a holder that accommodates the piezoelectric vibration element; a resin layer covering at least one electrode of the pair of electrodes; and a water-repellent layer, which has a lower moisture permeability than the resin layer, between the electrode and the resin layer.

A method for manufacturing a vibrator that includes forming excitation electrodes, lead-out electrodes, and first sealing frames on the main surfaces of a crystal piece; forming second sealing frames on the main surfaces of a base part and a lid part; and sealing a crystal vibration element by bonding the first sealing frames to the second sealing frames. The first sealing frames each include a first Ti or Cr base layer, and a first Au surface layer. The first Ti or Cr base layers are thinner than the first Au surface layers. The second sealing frames each include a second Ni base layer, and a second AuSn surface layer. The second Ni base layers are thicker than the second AuSn surface layers. The sealing is carried out by alloying the first Au surface layers and the second AuSn surface layers to each other.

The elasticity modulus of the adhesive sheet is within the range of about 0.5 MPa to about 3000 MPa. Piezoelectric filter with decreased adhesive layer thickness and modulus of elasticity and manufacturing method therefor

A flux containing an activator of the nonionic halogen group is used in soldering one end of each of lead terminals 6a and 6b to each of drawing electrodes 5a and 5b of a ceramic element 2. After soldering them, a wax 9 is dripped on the periphery of vibrating electrodes 4a and 4b of the ceramic element 2. Then, an outer resin 10 is applied around the periphery of the ceramic element 2 and so on. By drying the outer resin 10, a solvent contained in the outer resin 10 is dispersed to the outside, and pores are formed in the outer resin 10 on paths through which the solvent has been dispersed. At the same time, a part of a residual flux 11 is absorbed into the pores formed in the outer resin 10. The whole is heated to 150.degree. C. to harden the outer resin 10. When the whole is heated, the wax 9 and the remaining part of the residual flux 11 are absorbed into the pores of the outer resin 10. As a result, a cavity 8 is formed around the periphery of the vibrating electrodes 4a and 4b. When the whole has been heated to 150.degree. C., the outer resin 10 is hardened, and an outer member 7 is formed.
