A paper transporting apparatus transporting continuous paper to a paper processing part that performs designated processing on the continuous paper includes a drive roller that transports the continuous paper in a forward direction with respect to the paper processing part and a direction opposite to the forward direction by a frictional force, a pre-centering mechanism, disposed upstream of the drive roller with respect to the forward direction, that regulates a position of the continuous paper with respect to the forward direction and a direction orthogonal to the forward direction by abutting against the continuous paper, and a tension increasing mechanism, disposed upstream of the pre-centering mechanism with respect to the forward direction, that increases tension on the continuous paper.

A printing apparatus having a mechanism for transporting continuous paper includes: a frictionally transporting section for frictionally transporting the continuous paper; a paper braking section provided on an upstream side of the frictionally transporting section; a paper-position restricting section constituted by a pair of rollers arranged between the frictionally transporting section and the paper braking section obliquely at a predetermined angle &#x3b8; with respect to a paper transporting direction; a buffer device provided between the paper-position restricting section and the frictionally transporting section to absorb slack of the paper; and a printing section disposed on a downstream side of the frictionally transporting section.

Continuous paper transporting mechanism and printing apparatus having the same

A perfecting apparatus for executing prints on double surfaces of a recording medium is capable of minimizing a blank space on the recording medium. The perfecting apparatus has a first image forming unit, disposed downstream in a carrying direction of the recording medium, for forming a toner image on one surface of the recording medium, a second image forming unit, disposed upstream in the carrying direction of the recording medium, for forming the toner image on the other surface of the recording medium, a fixing unit for fixing the toner images onto the double surfaces of the recording medium, and a control unit for controlling the first and second image forming units. The control unit controls, when in one-side printing, the first image forming unit disposed downstream in the carrying direction. A distance between the fixing unit and the first image forming unit is short, and hence the blank space on the recording medium can be minimized.

Double side printing apparatus

In a multicolor electrostatic recording apparatus in which two or more different color toner images are superimposed by respective electrostatic recording units, each of the electrostatic recording units includes an electrostatic latent image carried, a developer for developing an electrostatic latent image formed on the carrier with a color toner, and a detector for detecting a density of the developed image on the basis of a detecting mark which is formed on the carrier as a part of the latent image and developed by the developer. A discriminator which compares the density data with an optional desired density value to discriminate whether the density data falls in an allowable range. A controller for feed-back controlling at least one parameter for determining the density of the developed image so that the density comes to be in the allowable range, when the density falls out of the allowable range. The at least one parameter is memorized as a compensating data for the density of the developed image, when the density falls in the allowable range. Thus, using the compensating data, a process using the parameter for determining the density of the developed image is carried out. The detector for detecting density includes a light emitting section and a light receiving unit.
