In a motorcycle having a head pipe, and a pair of left and right frame sections including left and right down tubes extended rearward from the head pipe, a cross plate continuously connects the pair of left and right down tubes in a width direction of the motorcycle. The cross plate is elastically connected to the left and right down tubes. Such arrangement of the cross plate suppresses distortion of a pair of left and right frame sections including the down tubes extended so as to be connected by the head pipe, and also improves the controllability and straight traveling characteristic of the motorcycle.

The shock absorber includes an oil pressure damper (1), a piston rod (2) and a cushion spring (3), wherein the cushion spring (3) contacts to the piston rod side with an end thereof and another end (6) thereof contacts to a spring receiving face (8) of a spring seat (7). Since the spring seat (7) is integrated with an adjuster (10) by engaging claws (9) with the adjuster (10) and is also integrated with a movable cover (20), the spring seat (7), the adjuster (10) and the movable cover (20) rotate and move to an axial direction as one body. Further, an O-ring (17) is provided in a space formed by an lower end face (15) of the spring receiving face (8) and an inner side arc portion of a flange (11) between an outer face of the oil pressure damper (1) and therewith, the lower end face (15) of the spring receiving surface (8) and the inner side arc portion (16) and is elastically supported by the O-ring (17) in a state that the space formed between the outer surface of the oil pressure damper (1) and therewith is buried in non-looseness.

Cylindrical shock absorber with cover

A muffler is connected to a pair of exhaust pipes extending from each cylinder of a multi-cylinder engine. The muffler assures easier assembling work and provides independent exhaust sound for each cylinder. The muffler includes a forward and a rearward expansion chamber within the inside thereof. The expansion chambers are separated in the longitudinal direction by a separation wall extending across the muffler. The exhaust pipe connected to the forward cylinder of a V-type two-cylinder engine is inserted into the forward expansion chamber, while the exhaust pipe connected to the rear cylinder is inserted into the rearward expansion chamber.
