A rotatable head type electrophotographic apparatus comprises a rotatable head supported on a moveable table and having a corona charging electrode and a light source secured thereto to face outwardly of the circumferential surface thereof. A development processing unit is supported on the moveable table close to a photosensitive material supported on a platen having a curved supporting surface. The light source is driven in accordance with a predetermined modulating signal to form an electrostatic latent image in the photosensitive material when the rotatable head is rotated and moved above the photosensitive material. The latent image is immediately developed by processing liquid flowing in the development processing unit along the surface of the photosensitive material.

Rotatable head type electrophotographic apparatus, corona charging

A photosensitive material containing a hydrophilic pigment is exposed to light to form a pigment pattern defining a particular image. The photosensitive material is brought into intimate contact with an image receiving material having a pigment fixing layer. The mutually contacting materials are heated so that the pigment may be transferred from the photosensitive material to the pigment fixing layer. A pigment diffusion assistant, is supplied to an area between the mutually contacting materials before they are heated for pigment transfer. The diffusion assistant spreads along a line along which the two materials are in contact with each other and promotes the transfer of the pigment.

Process for thermal development and transfer

A method and apparatus for developing and transferring an image from a sheet of thermally developing photo-sensitive paper N containing a mobile pigment to a sheet of print paper P containing a pigment fixer, comprising a thermal developer 4 of the photo-sensitive paper, means for overlaying the photo-sensitive and print paper, a heater 8 for transferring the mobile pigments from the developed photo-sensitive paper to the print paper, and a separator 54 for peeling apart the photo-sensitive and print papers.

Thermal developing and transferring method

A light beam modulating and deflecting system comprising a stationary electrode secured to a stationary body, and a rotatable electrode secured to a rotating body, on which a light source is mounted, and opposed in slightly spaced relation to the stationary electrode to form a capacitor together with the stationary electrode. A high frequency signal modulated with a light modulating signal is applied to the stationary electrode, thereby to feed the light modulating signal from the stationary electrode to the rotatable electrode. The system may comprise a plurality of light sources, stationary electrodes and rotatable electrodes, and high frequency signals modulated with various light modulating signals may be applied to the respective stationary electrodes, thereby to independently modulate the light sources via the rotatable electrodes. Or, the system may comprise a plurality of light sources and a set of the stationary electrode and the rotatable electrode, and a plurality of high frequency signals having frequencies different from one another and modulated with various modulating signals may be combined and applied to the stationary electrode, followed by signal separation and demodulation.

Light beam modulating and deflecting system

In an apparatus for recording an image by scanning a recording material with a light beam or a heat beam through rotation of a rotating body having at least one light source or heat source, the output of the light or heat source is controlled to obtain a sharp image free of scanning nonuniformity. A non-recording period on the recording material is detected by use of a combination of a light projector and a light receiver positioned in the rotating body with a light reflector secured near the rotating body, or a combination of a light receiver positioned in the rotating body with a light projector secured near the rotating body, or a combination of a magnetic sensor positioned in the rotating body with a magnet secured near the rotating body. The output of the light or heat source is stabilized by a stabilizing circuit within the detected non-recording period.

Light or heat output stabilizing system

A light beam projecting system comprising a light source and a condenser lens system is mounted on a rotator to project radially outwardly a light beam modulated by a desired modulating signal representing information to be recorded while rotating together with the rotator. The rotator is mounted for movement in the direction parallel to the rotational axis thereof whereby the light beam emitted from the light beam projecting system is caused to scan a recording medium opposed to the peripheral surface of the rotator to record the information thereon.

Light beam rotary printer

A light beam modulating and deflecting system used to record and read out information by scanning with a light beam wherein modulated power is supplied to at least one light source on a rotating body by use of a fixed primary coil on a stationary substrate and a rotatable secondary coil secured to the rotating body, which coils can maintain electromagnetic coupling therebetween. The light beam is deflected by the rotation of the rotating body and modulated by the drive current for the light source.
