The present invention provides an easy-to-use stencil discharging box that can easily be detached from a printing apparatus with one hand, and can smoothly execute vertical discard in this state. A stencil discharging box that is detachably mounted to a printing apparatus for receiving a used stencil compressed by compressing means of the printing apparatus is detached from the apparatus. When an operation lever is depressed, a cover member provided to an upper opening of a main body moves in an upward direction to open the opening, and a stencil moving member integrally formed with the cover member pivots in a frontward and upward-direction from between compression ribs of the main body so as to lift up the used stencil sticking to the ribs in the main body. When the main body is tilted with a discharge port provided at one side face of the main body (at the near side in the figure) facing downward, the used stencil can be discharged to the outside (vertical discard).

In a stencil disposal unit and stencil disposal method for disposing a stencil clamped at and wound on a printing drum of a rotary stencil printing machine, the end part of the stencil sheet from a clamp is released, the printing drum is caused to rotate in a winding direction with respect to the end part of the stencil sheet released from the clamp, so as to guide the end part of the stencil sheet to a pull-in position, and the printing drum is caused to rotate in a reverse direction opposite to the winding direction, as pulling in the end part of the stencil sheet.

To increase the degree of radial and axial alignments between a thermal head bar and a platen roller without being affected by the precision of manufacture and assembling of a cover adapted to be opened or closed by carrying either the thermal head bar or the platen roller in a thermal recorder, the thermal head bar is mounted to the cover or a housing of with two linear small plays and two small rotational plays, while forks provided at opposite longitudinal ends of the thermal head bar and radial cams provided at opposite ends of the platen roller are engaged with one another to restrict a radical alignment of the thermal head bar and the platen roller, while the fork provided at least at one longitudinal end of the thermal head bar and an axial cam provided at a corresponding end of the platen roller are engaged with one another to restrict an axial alignment of the thermal head bar and the platen roller.

In a stencil sheet discharge device having a pair of stencil sheet discharge rollers for transferring a stencil sheet removed from the outer circumferential surface of a printing drum of a rotary stencil printer toward a stencil sheet disposal spot, it is prevented that the trailing end of the stencil printer mounted around the printing drum is contaminated with ink by a contact with the stencil sheet discharge rollers, by a cover member being provided between at least one of the pair of stencil sheet discharge rollers and the printing drum. The cover member may be movable between an operating position interposed between the at least one of the pair of stencil sheet discharge rollers and the printing drum and a non-operating position for exposing the pair of stencil sheet discharge rollers to the printing drum.

Stencil sheet discharge device of rotary printer having ink

A stencil printing drum includes a cylindrical circumferential wall which includes an ink permeable area and an ink impermeable area surrounding the ink permeable area. The wall is wrapped with a perforated stencil sheet and driven to rotate around a central axis of itself. The drum also includes an ink supply roller provided inside the wall for supplying ink to an inner surface of the wall. The roller presses ink outwardly from the ink permeable area to pass through a perforated area of the stencil sheet wrapped around the wall for printing. The drum also includes an ink impermeable projection. The projection is provided on a rear end portion of the ink permeable area in a rotating direction of the wall along one of the generatrices of the cylindrical wall. The projection projects inside the cylindrical wall, thereby dividing the ink permeable area and the ink impermeable area. The drum also includes an ink cover sheet provided on an outer surface of the cylindrical wall to cover an area ranging from the ink impermeable area to the ink impermeable projection. The ink cover sheet is fixed at a rear end portion thereof in the rotating direction of the wall. The cylindrical wall has an opening after the ink impermeable projection in the rotating direction and the opening is formed adjacent to the projection and along one of the generatrices of the cylindrical wall.

A printing drum supporting device for a stencil printing machine comprises a forward side-plate and a rear side-plate disposed at a certain distance therebetween, a frame for supporting the drum, a rail device disposed between the two side-plates for guiding the frame, and a pipe disposed between the two side-plates. The frame includes a forward plate and a rear plate disposed at a certain distance therebetween. The rear plate has a hole. The frame supports a rotatable cylindrical printing drum between the forward plate and the rear plate. The frame is detachably supported by the rail device. The frame can slide along the rail device between a printing position inside the two side-plates and a disengagement position outside the same. The pipe is fixed between the two side-plates. An end portion of the pipe is protruding outside through the rear side-plate. An axis of the hole of the rear plate is located vertically beneath an axis of the pipe at a small distance when the frame with the drum is pulled out to the disengagement position. When the frame with the drum is guided to the printing position, the end portion of the pipe is fitted into the hole of the rear plate and the rear plate of the frame is raised small vertically. Thus a frame load of the rear plate side is carried by the rear plate and the pipe.

A stencil discharger includes a stripping device for removing a spent stencil paper from the outer peripheral surface of a drum; a stencil holding section for holding the spent stencil paper that has been removed from the outer peripheral surface of the drum; a transport device for transporting the spent stencil paper that has been removed from the outer peripheral surface of the drum; a compression member which is openable in the direction of transport of the spent stencil paper and provided on the transport route between the transport device and the stencil holding section, to check the transport of the spent stencil paper that has been transported by the transport device; and a push-out device which opens the compression member to discharge the spent stencil paper into the stencil holding section by pushing out, from the transport device side, the spent stencil paper which has been compressed by the compression member.

In order to positively dispose of a used stencil sheet from a printing drum of a rotary stencil printer, an endless belt element expanded between one of a pair of used stencil sheet transfer rollers for nipping and transferring a used stencil sheet disposed of from a printing drum and a pulley is positioned to oppose a claw means with a space left therebetween so that a leading end portion of the used stencil sheet detached from the printing drum by the claw means is guided by the endless belt element until it reaches a nip portion of the pair of used stencil sheet transfer rollers.
