To provide an acrylic film, composed of a resin composition (C) that includes an acrylic graft copolymer (A) containing an acrylic ester rubber-like polymer and a methacrylic polymer (B) containing 80% by weight or more of methyl methacrylate, wherein (1) the content of the acrylic ester rubber-like polymer in the resin composition (C) is 5% by weight or more and 30% by weight or less, (2) the average particle size of the acrylic ester rubber-like polymer is 500 to 2000 &#x212b;, (3) the relationship between the average particle size d (&#x212b;) of the acrylic ester rubber-like polymer and the amount w (% by weight) of crosslinking agent used in the acrylic ester rubber-like polymer satisfies the following equation: 0.002d&#x2266;w&#x2266;0.005d, (4) the graft ratio of the acrylic graft copolymer (A) is 30% or more and 200% or less, and (5) the reduced viscosity of methyl ethyl ketone soluble matter in the resin composition (C) is 0.2 to 0.8 dl/g.

A methacrylate, resin composition having an excellent processability and capable of providing films having excellent impact resistance, transparency, weatherability, solvent resistance and plasticizer migration resistance, which comprises (A) 5 to 50% by weight of a crosslinked acrylate elastomer having a two layer structure of a crosslinked polymer component (a-1) having a glass transition temperature of &minus;30 to 10&deg; C. and a crosslinked polymer component (a-2) having a glass transition temperature of less than &minus;30&deg; C. wherein the component (a-1) is located on the inner side or the outer side and the component (a-2) is located on the outer side or the inner side, and (B) 95 to 50% by weight of an alkyl methacrylate polymer prepared by polymerizing an acrylic monomer containing 80 to 100% by weight of an alkyl methacrylate and 20 to 0% by weight of an alkyl acrylate in the presence of a chain transfer agent and in the presence or absence of the elastomer (A). The composition may further contain a core-shell polymer prepared by graft-polymerizing a monomer containing a major amount of an alkyl methacrylate onto a crosslinked acrylate polymer, whereby molded articles having a matt surface and an excellent flex whitening resistance are obtained.

A rubber-containing resin composition suitable as an impact modifier for styrene resins (such as styrene homopolymer and copolymers and polymer alloys thereof with other thermoplastic resins), which comprises (A) a graft copolymer having a graft ratio of 10 to 80% by weight wherein a graft component comprising 15 to 60% by mole of at least one vinyl cyanide compound, 40 to 85% by mole of at least one aromatic vinyl compound and 0 to 30% by mole of at least one other monomer copolymerizable with them is graft-copolymerized onto a diene rubber having a volume average particle size of 100 to 1,000 nm by an emulsion polymerization method, and (B) an emulsion-polymerized copolymer of 15 to 60% by mole of at least one vinyl cyanide compound, 40 to 85% by mole of at least one aromatic vinyl compound and 0 to 30% by mole of at least one other monomer copolymerizable with them, which has a weight average molecular weight of 5,000 to 90,000 and a ratio of weight average molecular weight to number average molecular weight of 1.5 to 4.5, in which the ratio of the graft copolymer (A) to the copolymer (B) is from 50/50 to 95/5 by weight. A styrene resin composition comprising the rubber-containing resin composition and a styrene resin provides molded articles having excellent properties such as impact resistance, mechanical property, heat resistance and surface appearance with good processability.

A thermoplastic resin composition which has low rigidity such as bending strength, bending modulus and tensile strength, high impact resistance, and further low stress and large energy absorption at the time of impact, high heat deformation resistance and excellent moldability and comprises 5 to 65 by weight of the copolymer (I) having Tg (glass transition temperature) of not more than 20.degree. A reinforced resin composition comprising 100 parts by weight of a resin component comprising a polycarbonate resin, a thermoplastic polyester resin and an impact modifier in a ratio, by weight, of 90-10:10-90:0-40 and 0.5 to 100 parts by weight of kaolin with a mean particle diameter of 0.1 to 4.0 .mu.m. The composition can be molded by conventional techniques such as injection molding and extrusion molding into automotive parts, electrical or electronic parts and other products excellent in heat resistance, impact resistance, rigidity, dimensional stability, chemical resistance, moldability, weather resistance and thermal stability with a low linear coefficient of expansion and excellent surface gloss and appearance.

A polyarylate comprising units derived from an aromatic carboxylic acid compound and units derived from a bisphenol compound and containing an epoxy group. According to the process of the present invention, the polyarylate having epoxy group can be economically prepared. Since the polyarylate of the present invention has epoxy group, it has the reactivity with amino group, hydroxyl group, acid anhydride group, or the like. Therefore, the polyarylate is mixed with another polymer to give a polymer alloy or is utilized as the precursor of a graft-copolymer, utilizing the reactivity.
