A portable telephone apparatusaccording to the present invention comprises a call waiting section and a telephone number acquisition section that can acquire telephone numbers of telephone apparatuses on the other end of lines. A telephone directory information registration sectionregisters telephone numbers associated with information on names. A caller confirmation section searches a telephone number of the telephone directory information registration sectionbased on the telephone number acquired by the telephone number acquisition section and confirms the caller. A character string speech conversion section converts the character information on the name of the confirmed caller to speech information. A caller information notification section notifies the user of the speech information from the character string speech conversion section when an incoming call arrives during a call with speech at a volume level which does not disturb the call.

Telephone apparatus

The invention aims at upgrading the operability of a portable telephone set by providing a linkage between the telephone function and the internet connection function. The invention provides call connection request acceptance means and system control means in a portable telephone set equipped with internet information transmission/reception means and call means to make possible conversation via a call during internet connection; output means to facsimile and internet information storage means to allow internet information to be output to a facsimile; telephone number/e-mail address storage means to report an unanswered terminating call to a specified mail address; reading-off means to read off internet information as a voice; and timer means, image input means and voice input means to send audio, image and/or video information cyclically or on demand.

Portable telephone device

In a facsimile server or a sound server, a data conversion portion and a computer interface are further provided to provide data serving by converting the data from or into the data base in the server into the data matching to the terminal under serving. A facsimile and sound server, coupled to a network, having a data base, further comprises an electronic mail analyzing portion and an electronic mail transmission and receiving portion, so that the electronic mail can be stored in or read from the data base. Moreover, a data conversion portion may be further provided to the facsimile and sound server, so that formats of various types of data may be converted to have formats matched to the types of the terminal requesting the data. Further a notice data setting portion may be further provided, so that a notice of data or a sound guidance from the facsimile and sound server can be controlled remotely by the electronic mail or a command from a telephone terminal.
