An image forming apparatus including an image holding member, an image forming section that forms an image on the image holding member, a main frame that houses at least the image holding member and the image forming section, a cover body that is mounted to the main frame so as to be able to tilt down and includes a side cover for opening and closing a side surface of the main frame and a top cover for opening and closing a top surface of the main frame; and a unit that is mounted to and dismounted from the side cover by moving in a vertical direction between the top cover and the main frame in a state where the cover body is tilted down, is provided.

Cover body for image forming apparatus

A bearing housing of a capstan motor, for supporting a rotating shaft of the capstan motor. The housing is formed from sheet metal and has a flange member, a housing body extending from the flange member in an axial direction of the rotating shaft and a deep recess for exposing the rotating shaft. The housing also has a bearing collar made of metal mounted on the housing body for rotatably supporting the rotating shaft. This collar has a flange portion which abuts against an inside surface of the housing body and another portion press-fitted with a mounting hole formed through said housing body. A mounting board is mounted on one surface of the flange member and a motor board is mounted on another surface of the flange member. A component mounted on the mounting board is protected from interference by an escape portion on the flange member.

Capstan motor and sheet metal bearing housing thereof

A sheet distributing system including a sheet transfer unit, disposed within a housing, for transferring recorded sheets discharged from a sheet exit of an image recording unit to a sheet distribution stage, and a set of vertically arranged bin trays on one side of the housing and being moved toward the sheet distribution stage at the distributing timings of the recorded sheets, whereby the recorded sheets are distributed into the bin trays. The sheet distributing system further includes a post-processing unit located below or above the sheet transfer unit and disposed in a space, within the housing, which extends in the direction of the width of the sheet transfer unit, and a post-process control unit for causing the post-processing unit to successively apply a predetermined post-process to one side marginal portion of a stack of recorded sheets being contained in each of the bin trays at a post-processing stage different from the sheet distribution stage, when the sheet distributing operation has been completed. The post-processing unit may be a stapler or a puncher.

Sheet distributing system

A flat type DC motor applicable for disc drive of an electronic still camera in which vibrations of the rotor axle are prevented without increasing manufacturing costs by providing the magnetic field between the stator and rotor to by asymmetrical so that the magnetic attracting force of the rotor to the stator is also asymmetrical. The asymmetrical attracting force causes the axle of the rotor to be urged in the same radial direction relative to the axle bearing in the stator, thus, movements of the axle in radial directions in the clearance between the axle and bearing of the stator are eliminated and the rotor rotates without vibrating.
