An organic transistor includes a semiconductor section that includes a thin-film laminate in which a first organic thin film and a second organic thin film are alternately stacked. The thin-film laminate includes at least two layers of the first organic thin film. The first organic thin film is a pentacene thin film, and the second organic thin film is an amorphous organic thin film. The pentacene thin film may be a pentacene bilayer thin film, and the amorphous organic thin film may be a tetraaryldiamine thin film. The tetraaryldiamine thin film may be an &#x3b1;-NPD thin film. The organic transistor has improved transistor characteristics (e.g., mobility, ON/OFF ratio, or threshold value control).

Provided is an organic electroluminescence device which operates at a low voltage, has a uniform light emission surface, and can display high-quality images. In an organic electroluminescence device, an anode, a hole transport layer made of an organic compound, a light emitting layer made of an organic compound, and a cathode are stacked in the order named, and an electron injection layer containing a lanthanoid oxide is formed between the light emitting layer and cathode. The anode and/or cathode is made of a transparent conductive material. In another organic electroluminescence device, an anode, a hole transport layer made of an organic compound, a light emitting layer made of an organic compound, and a cathode are stacked in the order named, and an electron injection layer formed by mixing a lanthanoid metal oxide and organic compound is formed between the light emitting layer and cathode.

Organic light-emitting device capable of high-quality display

An organic EL device capable of providing an image plane which exhibits increased luminance or brightness while eliminating any difference in luminescence between luminous sections. An electrically insulating layer is arranged so as to cover both a first wiring pattern and a second wiring pattern and formed with a plurality of hole arrays in a manner to respectively correspond to first electrodes. The hole arrays each are constituted of a plurality of holes arranged along the first electrode corresponding thereto and so as to extend through an insulating layer to the first electrode while being kept from extending through second electrodes. A third wiring pattern is arranged which is constituted of a plurality of conductive paths each arranged on the insulating layer so as to be in alignment with each of the hole arrays and electrically connected to each of the first electrodes through connection conductive sections formed in the holes of the hole array corresponding thereto.
