A method for forming a film on a substrate by continuous vapor deposition includes: introducing the substrate into a film-forming apparatus; conveying the substrate into a pretreatment compartment of a pressure reduction chamber of the film-forming apparatus; performing plasma pretreatment of the substrate including supplying a plasma source gas composed of argon and at least one of oxygen, nitrogen, carbon dioxide gas and ethylene, introducing the plasma source gas that has been supplied as plasma into a gap between a magnet of the pretreatment compartment and a pretreatment roller such that the plasma is entrapped in the gap, and holding the plasma and applying a voltage between the pretreatment roller and a plasma-supply nozzle; conveying the substrate into a vapor deposition compartment of the pressure reduction chamber; and forming the film by vapor deposition on a surface of the substrate which has been pretreated.

Method for forming a laminated film on a substrate

To provide a light-shielding barrier laminate with excellent gas barrier properties and light-shielding properties. A light-shielding barrier laminate comprising a light-shielding sealant film laminated on a transparent gas barrier film, having an inorganic oxide vapor deposition film formed on one side of a transparent resin film, on the side on which the inorganic oxide vapor deposition film has been formed, via an adhesive layer, the light-shielding sealant film being a film having an aluminum vapor deposition film formed on one side of a heat-sealable resin film, the side on which the aluminum vapor deposition film is formed being laminated so as to face the adhesive layer.

Light-shielding barrier laminate

The invention provides a gas barrier film with low deterioration in the gas barrier property before and after high-temperature hot water treatment. The gas barrier film has a gas barrier coating film, formed as a composite film comprising a network structure having a mesh structure with Si&#x2014;O&#x2014;Si bonds as the basic lattice and a water-soluble polymer crystallized as microcrystals, incorporated into the mesh of the network structure, wherein a barrier coating agent, obtained by mixing a condensate solution of an alkoxysilane hydrolysate prepared as a mixed solution in which the proportion of bonded states of the silicon atoms of the condensate with Q1 and Q2 structures is at least 60% of the total silicon atoms, with a crystalline water-soluble polymer, is coated on a base material film, either after forming or without forming an aluminum oxide vapor deposition film, to form a coating layer.

Gas barrier film and method for producing it

Employed is a roller-type continuous vapor-deposited film forming device in which a film-forming section and a preprocessing section provided with a plasma preprocessing device are arranged in series at a distance from each other. With a substrate transported at a high speed, plasma (P) is supplied to the substrate surface side while set to an electrically positive potential by a plasma preprocessing means for supplying the plasma toward the substrate (S) in a space enclosed in a preprocessing roller, and enclosed in a plasma supply means for supplying a plasma-forming gas and in a magnet (), which is a magnetism formation means. An active preprocessed surface is formed on the surface of the substrate (S). An inorganic oxide vapor-deposited film having as a principal component thereof an aluminum oxide containing AL-C covalent bonds is immediately formed at high speed in succession on the preprocessed surface of the substrate to produce a highly adhesive transparent vapor-deposited film.

Transparent vapor-deposited film

The present invention provides a poly(meth)acrylate-based viscosity index improver comprising a core portion and three or more arm portions, wherein each of the arm portions consists of a polymer chain comprising a structural unit represented by the following formula (1), and one end of the polymer chain is bonded to the core portion, and wherein a weight-average molecular weight Mw is 100000 or more, and a ratio of the weight-average molecular weight Mw to a number average molecular weight Mn, Mw/Mn, is 1.6 or less. Poly(meth)acrylate-based viscosity index improver, lubricant additive and lubricant composition containing viscosity index improver

The lubricating oil composition of the invention comprises a lubricating base oil with a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 1-20 mm/s, (A) a friction modifier, (B) a first overbased metal salt obtained by overbasing an oil-soluble metal salt with an alkaline earth metal borate, and (C) an overbased second oil-soluble metal salt obtained by overbasing an oil-soluble metal salt with an alkaline earth metal carbonate.

It further provides a lubricating oil composition comprising a lubricating base oil with a kinematic viscosity at 100&#xb0; C. of 1-6 mm/s, a % Cof 70 or greater and a % Cof no greater than 2, a hydrocarbon-based viscosity index improver with a PSSI of no greater than 20, and a poly(meth)acrylate-based viscosity index improver.

Lubricant oil composition

The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engines which can reduce sufficiently the friction under mixed lubricating conditions and is excellent in fuel saving properties. The lubricating oil composition comprises (A) a base oil having a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 2 to 8 mm/s and an aromatic content of 10 percent by mass or less, (B) a metallic detergent having a metal ratio of 1.01 to 3.3 overbased with an alkaline earth metal borate, and (C) an organic molybdenum compound with a molybdenum concentration of 0.01 to 0.2 percent by mass on the basis of the total mass of the composition, and having a 100&#xb0; C. HTHS viscosity of 5.5 mPa&#xb7;s or lower.

Lubricating oil composition for internal combustion engine

The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition for an internal combustion engine used mainly to drive a generator and to improve the fuel economy thereof. The composition comprises (A) a base oil being a hydrocarbon base oil having a ratio (CA/CB) of the proportion of the component of 24 or fewer carbon atoms (CA) and the proportion of the component of 25 or more carbon atoms (CB) in the carbon number distribution obtained by gas chromatography distillation of 2.0 or higher, the composition having a ratio (Vs/Vk) of the 80&#xb0; C. high-temperature high-shear (HTHS) viscosity (Vk) and the 150&#xb0; C. HTHS viscosity (Vs) of 0.35 or higher and a 100&#xb0; C. kinematic viscosity of 2.5 mm/s or higher and 5.2 mm/s or lower.

Lubricating oil composition

A lubricating oil composition for transmissions comprises a lubricating base oil comprising (A) a lubricating base oil so adjusted to have a kinematic viscosity at 100&#xb0; C. of from 1.5 to 5 mm/s and a % Cof from 10 to 60 (B) a mineral lubricating base oil having a kinematic viscosity at 100&#xb0; C. of from 10 to 50 mm/s and a sulfur content of from 0.3 to 1 percent by mass and (C) a synthetic oil composed of carbon and hydrogen and having a number average molecular weight of from 2,000 to 20,000, in respective specific amounts and (D) an extreme pressure additive of from 0.05 to 2 percent by mass, based on the total amount of the composition, of comprising a phosphorus-based extreme pressure additive, a sulfur-based extreme pressure additive and/or a phosphorus-sulfur-based extreme pressure additive, wherein in the composition, the phosphorus content (P) is from 0.01 to 0.05 percent by mass, the total sulfur content (S) is from 0.05 to 0.3 percent by mass, and the P/S ratio is from 0.10 to 0.40. The lubricating oil composition has both excellent fuel economy performance and satisfactory durability for gears and bearings and furthermore excellent low temperature viscosity and oxidation stability.

Lubricating oil composition for transmissions

A lubricant oil composition according to the present invention comprises: a lubricant base oil whose kinematic viscosity at 100&#xb0; C. is 1 to 20 mm/s; and a viscosity index improver in which a ratio M1a/M2a of a total area M1a of peaks in a chemical shift between 29-31 ppm to a total area M2a of peaks in a chemical shift between 64-69 ppm based on a total area of all the peaks is not less than 10 in a spectrum obtained byC-NMR.

The lubricating base oil of the invention is characterized by satisfying at least one of the following conditions (a) or (b).

Lubricant base oil, lubricant composition for internal combustion engine and lubricant composition for driving force transmitting device

The lubricating oil composition of the invention comprises a lubricating base oil with a kinematic viscosity at 100&#xb0; C. of 1-20 mm/s, and a viscosity index improver having a ratio M/Mof 0.20 or greater, between the total area of the peaks between chemical shifts of 36-38 ppm Mand the total area of the peaks between chemical shifts of 64-66 ppm M, with respect to the total area of all of the peaks, in the spectrum obtained byC-NMR. The lubricating oil composition of the invention has excellent effects, with a sufficiently high HTHS viscosity at 150&#xb0; C., and a sufficiently low kinematic viscosity at 40&#xb0; C., a sufficiently low kinematic viscosity at 100&#xb0; C. and a sufficiently low HTHS viscosity at 100&#xb0; C.

Lubricant oil composition and method for making the same

The present invention provides a lubricating oil composition with excellent torque capacity and shifting characteristics suitable for use as automatic or continuously variable transmission fluids, which composition comprises a base oil and, on the basis of the total mass of the composition, (A) a sulfonate detergent in an amount of 0.01 to 0.3 percent by mass in terms of metal (MeA); (B) a salicylate detergent in an amount of 0 or more than 0 and 0.1 percent by mass or less, in terms of metal (MeB); and (C) a boron-containing succinimide type ashless dispersant in an amount of 0.001 to 0.1 percent by mass in terms of boron (BoC); (MeB)/(MeA) being 0, or greater than 0 and 1.5 or less, and (MeA)/(BoC) being from 0.001 to 20.
