A ceramics composite member includes a structure in which a first ceramic member and a second ceramic member are integrated with a joint portion. The joint portion has a texture in which a silicon phase having an average diameter of 0.05 &#x3bc;m or more and 10 &#x3bc;m or less is continuously provided in a network form in interstices of silicon carbide particles having an average particle diameter of 0.1 &#x3bc;m or more and 0.1 mm or less.

Ceramics composite member and method of producing the same

A ceramic heat exchanger includes a heat exchange section that heat-exchanges between two fluids A and B flowing opposite directions to each other. The heat exchange section includes ceramic blocks stacked one on top of another with a seal therebetween. The ceramic blocks have a plurality of parallel lines of flow channels, each line defined by the flow channels through which the same fluid flows, any two adjacent lines being defined by the flow channels through which the different fluids A and B flow respectively. Both ends in the stacking direction of the stack are bound to join and integrate the ceramic blocks with tightening means including end plates and a tie rod. A thermal expansion absorber is disposed on an external surface of the end plates for absorbing thermal expansion in the axial direction of the tie rod.

Ceramics heat exchanger

A heat exchanger includes a vertical pressure vessel having a air-tight structure, one and another sets of fluid inlet/outlet ports provided to upper and lower portion of the vertical pressure vessel, respectively, and a heat exchanging module disposed in the pressure vessel to a portion between both sets of the fluid inlet/outlet ports, the heat exchanging module being formed by stacking a number of heat exchanging elements. At least one set of the fluid inlet/outlet ports are configured to provide a header composed of a pipe structural member having a bottom portion closed and a heat insulating material attached to an inner surface of the pipe structural member, and end portions of fluid flowing pipes communicating with the heat exchanging module are opened at the closed fluid inlet/outlet ports in the header.

Heat exchanger

Ceramic materials that are highly resistant to strong acids such as concentrated sulfuric acid and halides such as hydrogen iodide are employed to make block elements through which a large number of circular ingress channels extend in perpendicular directions and which are joined and piled in the heat exchanging medium section to provide a compact heat exchanger that excels not only in corrosion resistance but also in high-temperature strength.

In a mechanical pencil, the dispersion range of the diameter of a lead is allowable to a certain extent, but if by chance a lead having the maximum diameter is used the lead may not be delivered. This is because there is exceeded the allowable range of the elastic deformation of an elastic thin film, namely, a lead holding member. The mechanical pencil includes the lead holding member disposed in the neighborhood of the tip of a shaft tube, in which the exterior shape of the lead holding member is formed to be slightly smaller than the interior shape of the shaft tube in which the lead holding member is disposed, and an inner step portion for preventing the dropping of the lead holding member from the shaft tube is disposed in the front portion of the lead holding member.

Mechanical pencil

A mechanical pencil has a tubular member having a front end and a rear end. A slide member is disposed at the front end of the tubular member for axial sliding movement therein. The slide member has a lead passageway for receiving a pencil lead. A lead advancement mechanism undergoes axial movement within the tubular member and has a chuck body for undergoing advancing movement to advance the pencil lead through the lead passageway of the slide member and toward the front end of the tubular member and for undergoing retracting movement toward the rear end of the tubular member. The slide member is disposed in frictional engagement with the chuck body for retracting movement therewith.
