The present invention aims to provide an industrially advantageous method of producing a powdery pseudopolyrotaxane with a high inclusion ratio. The present invention relates to a method for producing a pseudopolyrotaxane, including: an inclusion step of mixing a polyethylene glycol and a cyclodextrin in an aqueous medium to form an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane that contains pseudopolyrotaxane particles in which the polyethylene glycol is included in the cavities of the cyclodextrin molecules in a skewered manner; and a drying step of drying the aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane produced in the inclusion step to obtain the pseudopolyrotaxane. In the drying step, the aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane is sprayed and dried in a heated gas-stream.

Method for producing pseudopolyrotaxane

The present invention aims to provide an industrially advantageous method for producing an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane enabling to produce an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane having good fluidity and excellent dispersion stability of the pseudopolyrotaxane particles therein. The present invention relates to a method for producing an aqueous dispersion of pseudopolyrotaxane. The method includes: a mixing step of a dissolving polyethylene glycol and a cyclodextrin in an aqueous medium to prepare a mixed solution; and a cooling step of continuously or intermittently cooling the mixed solution in a state of flux to precipitate pseudopolyrotaxane particles. The pseudopolyrotaxane particles contain the polyethylene glycol which is included in the cavities of the cyclodextrin molecules in a skewered manner.

Method for producing pseudopolyrotaxane aqueous dispersion

The present invention aims to provide a method of producing a hydrophilic modified polyrotaxane, which enables production of a hydrophilic modified polyrotaxane excellent in storage stability in an industrially advantageous way. The present invention provides a method of producing a hydrophilic modified polyrotaxane, comprising: a hydrophilic modification step of preparing a solution of a hydrophilic modified polyrotaxane by modifying all or part of hydroxy groups on a cyclodextrin of a polyrotaxane with hydrophilic modifying groups, the polyrotaxane containing the cyclodextrin, a polyethylene glycol included in the cavities of the cyclodextrin molecules in a skewered manner, and a capping group that is placed at each end of the polyethylene glycol and prevents dissociation of the cyclodextrin molecules from the polyethylene glycol; and a drying step in which the prepared solution of the hydrophilic modified polyrotaxane is formed into a thin film state and dried.

Production method for hydrophilic modified polyrotaxane

The present invention aims to provide a polyrotaxane composition having excellent storage stability. The present invention relates to a polyrotaxane composition comprising: a polyrotaxane containing a cyclodextrin, a polyethylene glycol which is included in the cavities of the cyclodextrin molecules in a skewered manner, and a capping group that is placed at each end of the polyethylene glycol and prevents dissociation of the cyclodextrin molecules from the polyethylene glycol; and a polyphenol antioxidant.

The present invention provides a resin particle having many recesses on the surface thereof, which has solvent resistance and heat resistance. More specifically, the present invention provides a resin particle having many recesses on the surface thereof which is obtained by using a seed particle, wherein a seed particle component in the resin particle has a crosslinked structure. A process for preparing a water-soluble carboxyl group-containing polymer comprising reacting an &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid with a compound having at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups in an inert solvent in the presence of a radical polymerization initiator, the process for preparing a water-soluble carboxyl group-containing polymer being characterized in that the &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid is further added to a reaction mixture in which 20 to 70% by mol of an unreacted &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid remains, and the &#x3b1;,&#x3b2;-unsaturated carboxylic acid is reacted with the compound having at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups; and a water-soluble carboxyl group-containing polymer obtainable by the above-mentioned process, wherein the reducing ratio of viscosity of a 0.2% by weight neutralized viscous liquid is less than 25%, and the equilibrium viscosity of the neutralized viscous liquid is 20000 to 50000 mPa&#xb7;s. The water-soluble carboxyl group-containing polymer obtainable by the present invention can be suitably used as a thickener for cosmetics and the like, a moisturizer for poultices and the like, an emulsifier, or a suspension stabilizer for suspensions, and the like.

According to a process for production of alkylene oxide polymers offered by the present invention, an alkylene oxide is subjected to a polymerization reaction under presence of a catalyst in a solvent containing an aliphatic hydrocarbon having from five to seven carbon atoms and a branched structure. This composition comprises (A) a cross-linked polymer comprising (a) an &agr;,&bgr;-unsaturated carboxylic acid and (b) a compound having at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups, and (B) at least one polymer selected from among polymers comprising vinylpyrrolidone as an essential monomer and polyethylene oxide.
