A frameless door window regulator adjustment assembly comprises upper and lower guide rail attachments for precise glass positioning. The lower guide rail attachment, mounted on the door inner panel, includes a guide rail bracket and a window regulator bracket sandwiching a cam plate. The guide rail bracket has a slot and a stud bolt, aligned with the camshaft hole and slot on the window regulator bracket, respectively. The cam plate features an anti-rotation hole and a cam plate slot, aligned with the slot and the stud bolt on the guide rail bracket and the camshaft hole and slot on the window regulator bracket, respectably. The camshaft connects the window regulator bracket and the cam plate, enabling controlled movement of the guide rail bracket and glass tilting. The camshaft and cam plate are non-rotatably connected and may be made of durable materials like steel or die-casting, and may be a one-piece part. Fasteners secure the camshaft and cam plate to the guide rail bracket, simplifying assembly.

Frameless door window regulator adjustment assembly

A window regulator assembly in a vehicle includes a glass lift plate assembly for moving a window glass up and down along the guide rail. The glass lift plate assembly includes a slider base, a glass holder configured to receive and hold the window glass, and an attachment bracket placed on the glass holder to securely hold the window glass. The glass holder includes an inboard part and an outboard part, and is connected to the slider base by an adjustment member, which is configured to adjust a top edge of the window glass. Further, the window glass is placed between the inboard part and the outboard part of the glass holder and also fixedly held by an attachment fastener. The inboard part of the glass holder slidably moves relative to the outboard part of the glass holder by the rotational movement of the adjustment member.

Glass lift plate assembly for window regulator

A window regulator for a motor vehicle door assembly including features for providing defrosting capabilities for movable glass of the door. A door wire harness is routed inside a door inner cavity. A defroster wire harness is provided having a first end connected to the door wire harness at a bracket on a window regulator guide rail. The opposite end of the defroster wire harness is affixed to a second bracket at a window regulator window carrier. Electrical defroster element wires are connected to the defroster wire harness at the second connector. The defroster wire harness is configured to undergo a bending motion in a manner to reduce fatigue and interference with internal components of the vehicle door. Other applications include providing electrical power to electronic or electrical elements carried by a vehicle movable window panel in addition to defroster functions.

A window regulator for a motor vehicle includes a drive unit assembly with a module plate. The drive unit for the window regulator includes a cable drum housing with a cable drum and a motor assembly. The cable drum housing includes a stepped annular ring extended from the cable drum housing and a snap-fit post protruded from each of the stepped annular ring for engaging with the module plate. The cable drum housing is positioned on a receiving site of the module plate, and the stepped annular ring and the snap-fit post is coupled with a locating site on the receiving site. Each locating site includes a circular bead for engaging with the stepped annular ring of the cable drum housing.

Drive unit assembly for a window regulator

A door assembly may include a sub-assembly having a sub-assembly panel, one or more rails, an edge strip, and a sealing gasket. The rails may extend from the sub-assembly panel and may overhang an edge of the panel to be sealed. The edge strip may be configured to seal the panel extending across a region of the edge where the rail overhangs the edge. The sealing gasket may be a foam-in-place gasket. The sealing gasket may be applied to the sub-assembly panel around the perimeter of the sub-assembly panel and may interact with the edge strip at the region where the at least one rail overhangs the edge to form a contiguous seal around the sub-assembly panel.

Seal assembly for automotive door module

A cable guide for use with a window regulator assembly includes a body with a first rail support surface and a second rail support surface in a guide rail region, and a cable support surface and a cable retention arm in a cable region. The first rail support surface is configured to pass through an aperture in a guide rail and be placed on a first side of the guide rail and a cable retention arm configured to receive a tensioned drive cable of the window regulator. The cable guide with the first and second rail support surfaces is steadily secured to the guide rail by utilizing the pushing force from the tensioned drive cable. The aperture is located along the guide rail such that the aperture is out of the slide path of the window carrier of the window regulator assembly.

Window regulator cable guide

A cable guide for use with a window regulator assembly includes a body with a first rail support surface, a second rail support surface and a third rail support surface in a guide rail region and a cable support surface and a cable retention arm in a cable region. The first rail support surface is configured to be inserted through an aperture in a guide rail and be placed on a first side of the guide rail and a cable retention arm configured to receive a tensioned drive cable of the window regulator. The cable guide with the first, second and third rail support surfaces may be steadily assembled to the guide rail by utilizing the pushing force from the tensioned drive cable. The aperture is located along the guide rail such that the aperture is out of the slide path of the window carrier of the window regulator assembly.

A window regulator assembly for moving a side window of a vehicle in an upward direction and in a downward direction along a guide rail, includes a carrier plate having a rail channel for movably engaging the guide rail. A first cable end pocket laterally offset from the rail channel is configured for receiving a cable end extending from a bottom end of the guide rail, and a separate second cable end pocket, likewise laterally offset from the rail channel, is configured for receiving a cable end extending from a top end of the guide rail. At a top end of the first cable end pocket in an installed position, the first cable end pocket is longitudinally delimited by a radial step having a depth of at most &#xbd; of a width of the first cable end pocket.

Window regulator assembly with carrier plate

A single-rail window regulator for moving a side window of a vehicle in an upward direction and in a downward direction includes a guide rail defining and a carrier plate having a central guide structure for movably engaging the guide rail, a first lateral extension extending to a first lateral side of the guide rail, and a second lateral extension extending to a second lateral side of the guide rail body opposite the first lateral side. The carrier plate has a first cable attachment pocket on the first lateral extension and a second cable attachment pocket on the second lateral extension. Accordingly, the two attachment pockets are arranged on opposite lateral sides. As one cable end pulls the carrier plate upward and the other cable end pulls the carrier plate downward, the arrangement causes torques in the same rotational direction, even when reversing the direction of movement.

Single-rail window regulator assembly

A window regulator assembly is described that comprises a window bracket that is in contact with the bottom edge of the window; a cable; a carrier plate that is in contact with the window bracket and both ends of the cable; a tension spring located on each end of the cable; an upper bracket assembly; a drum housing having a cable drum; a hollow conduit located between the upper bracket assembly and the drum housing; and a drive unit. The upper bracket assembly, cable drum, and conduit are capable of slideably receiving the cable, while the tension springs provide a predetermined amount of tension to the cable in order for the window regulator assembly to move the window between open and closed positions. Many of the components of the window regulator assembly may be formed from a thermoplastic material.

Bottom drive rail-less window regulator

A window carrier assembly for an automotive window regulator. The carrier assembly is a composite assembly of a center body section preferably formed of injection molded plastic material and a pair of window clamps that are snap assembled to the carrier body section. The window regulator assembly preferably is used in connection with a single rail-type window regulator. The body section of the carrier assembly features a cable end receiving socket which allows both ends of the drive cable to be installed in a manner which can be done rapidly in component assembly.

Window carrier assembly for automotive window regulator

A window regulator for raising and lowering a window glass in a motor vehicle. The regulator includes at least one rail defining at least one track, at least one glass carrier for receiving the window glass and mounted for movement along the at least one track, at least one cable where the at least one cable is attached to the at least one glass carrier generally parallel to the at least one track, and a drive unit for operably engaging the at least one cable to move the at least one glass carrier along the at least one track. The cable attachment includes at least one aperture of the glass carrier for receiving an end of the at least one cable and at least one elongated aperture of the glass carrier for receiving a length of the at least one cable generally parallel to the at least one track. The glass carrier additionally includes a cushioned support member for supporting the lower edge of the window glass. The cushioned support member includes a horizontally extending member, which includes a retaining member, and a cushion received by the horizontally extending member and secured by the retaining member. The cushion is formed from a polypropylene material, which is a different material than the horizontally extending member.

Window regulator with improved carrier

The present specification provides a rear window assembly for a vehicle having a window frame, at least one fixed window panel whose perimeter edge defines a portion of an opening, a movable window panel capable of opening or closing the opening and that is allowed to slidably move past the surface of the fixed window panel, a seal member present on the perimeter surface of at least one of the window panels, and a closure track integrally formed in at least one edge of the window frame. The closure track may force the movable window panel and the fixed window panel closer together, thereby, placing the seal member under compression.

Rear window slider assembly

A sliding window assembly for use with a motor vehicle such as the rear window of the cab of a pickup type truck. A guide structure mounts a sliding pane for longitudinal sliding movement generally parallel to the plane of the pane between an open position and a closed position, and a lateral thrust mechanism is provided to move the pane laterally relative to the plane of the pane into the closed position wherein the exposed face of the pane is flush with a surrounding vehicle surface.
