A cover glass covers only light-receiving elements formed on a semiconductor substrate of a solid-state imaging device. The other area of the substrate except the light-receiving elements is exposed. An FPC interposed between an optical unit and the solid-state imaging device is formed with an opening for exposing the cover glass and an assembly reference surface of the solid-state imaging device. When the solid-state imaging device is attached to the optical unit, the center of the light-receiving elements is determined as a reference position. The optical unit is directly attached to the assembly reference surface so as to make the reference position coincide with a photographic optical axis of the optical unit.

The moisture content of a base paper for manufacturing a paper tube is controlled to a predetermined value. Water-soluble adhesive is applied to a side of the base paper in such a small amount as to cause the adhesive to ridge on the side of the base paper, and the ridging adhesive is uniformly smoothed over the side of the base paper. The base paper is wound into a tube.

A package of rolled photosensitive mateiral comprising a core, a photosensitive strip material wound around the core, a light-shielding leader connected to the end of the photosensitive strip material to shield the peripheral surface of the photosensitive strip material from light and side light-shielding covers connected to both sides of the light-shielding leader so that the boundary between the side light-shielding covers and the light-shielding leader corresponds to the boundary between the peripheral surface and the side surface of the photosensitive strip material. The core is formed by laminating at least 2 sheets of a base paper being moistureproof. The side light-shielding covers are composed of a composite film having a polyethylene film having light-shielding ability and a uniaxially oriented film or a biaxially oriented film made of polyester, polyethylene polypropylene or nylon with the length of the side light-shielding covers being not less than twice as long as the outer periphery of a roll of the photosensitive strip material.

Package of rolled photosensitive material

A packaging apparatus for packaging rolled articles. The apparatus forms a pair of packaging materials for wrapping side portions of the rolled article. Edges of the pair of packaging materials are adhered to additional packaging material which wraps a circumferential portion of the rolled article. A splicer splices a trailing end of the second packaging material to a leading end of the rolled article and a winder winds the leading end of the rolled article and the second packaging material around the periphery of the rolled article. A gusseting device gussets the pair of packaging materials along the sides of the rolled article.

Packaging apparatus

A bar code printing apparatus includes a rotary. encoder for outputting encoder pulses in two different phases. The direction in which film is transported is discriminated by the encoder pulses and indicated by a forward direction pulse or a reverse direction pulse indicated for a predetermined length of transported film. A direction discriminating circuit comprises a clock pulse generator for generating clock pulses at a frequency higher than that at which the encoder pulse is output, a delay circuit for slightly delaying the clock pulse, a first latch circuit for latching one of the encoder pulses in synchronism with the clock pulse to output a transportation signal; a second latch circuit for outputting a latch condition signal; and two AND gates, each connected to the first and second latch circuits and the delay circuit, for outputting a forward direction pulse and a reverse direction pulse, respectively.

Bar code printing apparatus

In a web winder for winding a web strip on a core, the web strip is brought into contact with the core at a predetermined position. The web strip is cut in such a position that the length of the portion of the web strip between the leading end and the predetermined position is slightly shorter than the length of the periphery of the core. The leading end portion of the web strip is applied to the circumferential surface of the core, and a wrapping roller is applied on the leading end portion of the web strip to press it against the core. Then the wrapping roller is rotated along the core toward said predetermined position by a predetermined angle with the web strip intervening between the core and the wrapping roller.

Packages of a rolled photosensitive material comprise a core and a photosensitive material wound around the core, and one package further comprises a light-shielding leader connected with an end of the photosensitive material to shield the circumferential surface of the photosensitive material from light and a pair of light-shielding covers adhered to both sides of the leader in a peelable state to shield the side surfaces of the photosensitive material. Another package further comprises a light-shielding leader connected with an end of the strip material to shield the circumferential surface of the photosensitive material from light and a pair of side light-shielding covers adhered to shield both sides of the rolled photosensitive material so that the joining end substantially conforms to a boundary between the circumferential surface and the side surface of the photosensitive material, wherein at least one of the light-shielding leader and the side light-shielding cover is made of a tearable material in the boundary direction.

In a method and apparatus for packaging a rolled web, a feed roller is located near each of opposed end faces of the rolled web to be packaged. The axis of rotation of a feed roller is inclined with respect to the radial direction of the roll, which radial direction intersects perpendicularly to the direction along which a wrapping material having side edge parts folded in L-shapes is fed, such that the outer periphery of the axis of rotation, which outer periphery is taken in the radial direction of the roll, is more forward with respect to the direction, along which the wrapping material is fed, than the inner periphery of the axis of rotation. A folding member is located on the side more forward than the feed roller with respect to the direction, along which the wrapping material is fed. The folding member is supported such that the space between the folding member and the opposed end faces of the roll varies periodically. The feed roller rotates to feed the side edge part of the wrapping material while the side edge part is being imparted with tension towards the center of rotation of the roll. A slack portion of the side edge part of the wrapping material, which slack portion occurs on the side forward from the feed roller with respect to the direction, along which the wrapping material is fed, is folded by the folding member at predetermined intervals onto the opposed end faces of the roll.

Method and apparatus for packaging a rolled web

An apparatus for filling an article into a bag having an open end and a closed bottom includes an article insertion station which inserts an article into the bag through the open end thereof, an open end portion forming station which forms the open end portion of the bag into a predetermined shape, an open end portion folding station which folds the formed open end portion of the bag, and a conveyor which conveys the bag from a bag feeding station to the open end portion folding station through the article insertion station and the open end portion forming station in sequence. The conveyor conveys the bag with the open end of the bag directed transversely to the bag conveying direction of the conveyor and said article insertion station inserts the article in the direction transverse to the bag conveying direction of the conveyor.

Apparatus for filling and sealing bags

A bag-making apparatus which comprises a support table carrying a bag material which is put thereon, a pair of side guides being provided above the support table, being movable in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the bag material and controlling both side of the bag material, a pair of top guides being movable in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the bag material together with the side guides, having the space therebetween gradually narrower from the approach side to the leaving side of the bag material, and controlling the front face of the bag material made tubular, and forming rollers being disposed on the approach side of the bag material from the top guides, being movable in the direction perpendicular to the traveling direction of the bag material, and pressing the bag material onto the support table. The bag-making apparatus can change the bag width rapidly and accurately in a simple action without stopping the travel of the bag material resulting to shorter the working time and to improve productive efficiency. The loss of the bag material due to the bag width changes can be reduced.

Bag-making apparatus with adjustable fold guides

A slitter slits a wide web into narrow strips by at least one slitting blade mounted on a shaft member which extends in the transverse direction of the wide web while the wide web is fed in the longitudinal direction thereof. The slitter is provided with a slitting width changing system which has a slitting blade holder which holds the slitting blade and is fitted on the shaft member to be rotatable about the shaft member between a released position in which it can be slid along the shaft member in the longitudinal direction of the shaft member and a locked position in which it is fixed to the shaft member not to slide along the shaft member. A slitting blade shift mechanism rotates the slitting blade holder to the released position, slides it along the shaft member to a position determined according to a desired slitting width, and rotates it to the locked position.

A film magazine assembling system includes a plurality of two-part magazine casing assembling chucks. Each chuck is formed of a pair of chuck members the inner surfaces of which substantially form a cylindrical surface in a closed state. In an open state, one of the side edges of one of the chuck members parallel to the longitudinal axis of the cylindrical surface is spaced from the mating edge of the other chuck member. An indexing plate is rotatable about a substantially horizontal rotational axis and supports the magazine casing assembling chucks at regular angular intervals about the rotational axis so that the longitudinal axis of said cylindrical surface is held horizontal. The indexing plate is intermittently rotated by an angle equal to the angular interval, thereby successively stopping each magazine casing assembling chuck at a plurality of stations. The magazine casing assembling chuck is in the open state and opposed side edges of the barrel plate which form the magazine slit is spaced from each other at the first station, and the barrel plate is loaded into the magazine casing assembling chuck so that the side edges are positioned in the space between the spaced side edges of the chuck members.
