A miter saw includes a base portion having a mount surface, a cutting unit supporting a saw blade, a support portion, a relative displacement smoothening member, and a sealing structure. The support portion is supported to the base portion for supporting the cutting unit. The support portion includes a rod extending in a sliding direction in parallel to the mount surface and perpendicular to a rotation axis of the saw blade, and a slide-support portion through which the rod slidably extends. The smoothening member is provided between the slide-support portion and the rod. The sealing structure is provided between the slide-support portion and the rod and includes a first seal member provided at one end of the smoothening member, a second seal member provided at an another end of the smoothening member, and a third seal member positioned opposite to the smoothening member with respect to the first seal member.

A miter saw including: a base section; a saw blade; a cutting section; a support section; and a guiding mechanism. The support section includes a pivot support portion and a slide support portion. The pivot support portion supports the cutting section such that the cutting section is pivotally moved toward and away from the base section. The slide support portion slidably supports the pivot support portion to move the cutting section in a sliding direction that is in parallel with an upper surface of the base section and orthogonal to an axial direction of a rotational axis of the saw blade. The guiding mechanism is configured to guide a movement of the cutting section in the sliding direction in accordance with a pivotal movement of the cutting section toward the base section. The guiding mechanism is provided in association with the cutting section and the slide support portion.

A miter saw for cutting a workpiece is disclosed. The miter saw has a base section, a holder section, a saw blade section, a saw blade support section, and a guide bar. The base section has an upper surface for supporting a workpiece to be cut. The holder section stands from the base portion. The saw blade section has a circular saw blade for cutting the workpiece. The saw blade support section pivotably supports the saw blade section. The guide bar slidably supports the saw blade support section. The guide bar is slidably supported by the holder section. The guide bar extends substantially parallel to the upper surface of the base section. The saw blade support portion is slidable along the guide bar.

A miter saw which prevents deterioration in perpendicularity of a cutting blade to the upper surface of a base part when slide of a pipe is regulated by pressing a pipe. In a miter saw, a pair of pipes support a cutting part, on one end side. On the other end side, the pipes are surrounded and supported slidably by a first slide support part of a support member of a turntable. A virtual plane including the axes of the pair of pipes is substantially parallel to the pivotal direction of a disc saw blade. A first screw is screwed in the first slide support part. An end part of the first screw contacts and presses a pipe. This end part is engaged with the pipe so as to restrict slide of the pipe relative to the first slide support part.

A saw blade support section is disposed slidable with respect to the guide bars and selectively position-fixable with respect to the guide bars. A saw blade section which is pivotably supported accommodates a motor and rotatably supports a circular saw blade driven by the motor.

An adjustment mechanism is provided between the base and the turntable for performing fine-adjustment to the rotation angle of the turntable relative to the base. The adjustment mechanism is located at a front side of the turntable, and a digital display is provided near the adjustment mechanism for displaying the rotation angle.
