A magnetic coil assembly with a connector arrangement which prevents explosion or other accident due to the mismatch of voltage rating between a surge absorber and a magnetic coil, allows only the surge absorber to be changed easily if it has been damaged, and ensures ease of automatically assembling the surge absorber into the magnetic coil assembly. The magnetic coil assembly includes a coil spool, a winding wound around the coil spool, and coil terminals mounted on the coil spool and electrically connected with the winding. The surge absorber is connected mechanically and removably with the coil spool or coil terminals, using connectors that may uniquely relate to the ratings of the absorber and coil, and the absorber terminals of the surge absorber are brought into contact with, and therefore are electrically connected with, the coil terminals.

A magnetic coil, a magnetic contactor using the magnetic coil and a method for manufacturing the magnetic coil are disclosed wherein the magnetic coil does not need increased winding space and can be configured as having two coil terminals protruding in only one direction or as having three coil terminals. A three terminal-type magnetic contactor which uses the magnetic coil does not require an increased amount of space for the winding process, and the size of the three terminal version is reduced while still meeting insulation requirements. The magnetic coil maintains reliable electrical connection even when subjected to mechanical vibration.

Electrical equipment coupled to a printed circuit board provides insulation ribs projecting from a face between terminal plates provided on an upper face of the electrical equipment. The insulation ribs are inserted into oblong holes of the printed circuit board when the electrical equipment is coupled to the printed circuit board. As a result, insulation distances, namely creepage distance, between the terminal plates are along the height of the insulation ribs projecting from the upper face of the terminal plates.

A pair of electromagnetic contactors having an interlock mechanism provides projections (11a, 11b) which are formed to project in a direction toward the case (30) where an electromagnetic part (A) is provided, and an interlock pin (60) is placed between the projections (11a, 11b), and is provided to have some interval from the contact parts (B, B'); thereby prohibiting simultaneous closing of both of the electromagnetic contactors (300a, 300b).

In an electromagnetic contactor, a coil spool (5) in which a coil (5A) is wound and a movable iron core (4) is movably mounted, a cover (20) in which a crossbar (10) having a movable contact (15) is slidably mounted, and a mechanical link (6) which makes a mechanical linkage of the movable iron core (4) with the crossbar (10) are arranged such that the positioning between the coil spool (5) and the cover (20) is defined by making contact of an engaging member (60) of the cover (20) with the coil spool (5); and the coil spool (5) is relatively pushed to the engaging member (60) from a coil terminal (25) fixed in the cover (20) by means of an elastic force of a contact terminal (35) which is provided in the coil spool (5) and makes electrical connection between the coil (5A) and the coil terminal (25).

An electromagnetic apparatus has a connecting mechanism which transmits the operation of an actuator (28) of a main body to electric contact parts (13, 14) of a time delay unit 34 mounted on the main body. The connecting mechanism comprises a movable frame (31, 41, 51) for making the open/close operation of the electric contact parts (13, 14), and a connecting bar (30,60, 70) for connecting between the actuator (28) and the movable frame (31, 41, 51). The connecting bar (30, 60, 70) detachably engages with the actuator (28) and is connected to the movable frame (31, 41, 51) through a spring (32) which adjusts difference of operation stroke when the actuator (28) is moved over the operation stroke of the movable frame (31, 41, 51).

In an electromagnetic contactor having a fixed iron core (1), a flat portion (1b) of the fixed iron core is disposed along a moving direction of movable contacts (15) to come close to each gap between fixed contacts (17) and the movable contacts (15) with a shielding sheet (40) of an insulation material put thereon.

An electromagnetic contactor comprises a resin-molded housing for accommodating a fixed contact member in its inner space; resin-molded terminal covers, each being capable of insertion from the outside for assembly along a guide portion of a recess or boss formed in the housing and of passing through the housing up to its inner space, each terminal cover having a slit opened to the outside; and fixed-contact-member connection conductors, each formed of a bent metal plate having a contact of the fixed contact member at one end and the plug-in connection type male terminal at the other end, the plug-in connection type male terminal being projected from the slit, the fixed-contact-member connection conductor being further provided with a mating portion which mates with the terminal cover in such a manner that the conductor in combination with the terminal cover can be assembled in the housing.

A rail mounting device for mounting a rail to electrical equipment includes a case and a resilient movable claw. The case includes a recess into which a rail may fit, and a stationary claw protruding into the recess for holding one edge of the rail. The movable claw is mounted to a side surface of the case such that fitting protions on the movable claw protrude into the recess to hold the other edge of the rail, and such that the fitting portions are movable to allow easy insertion or removal of the rail into or out of the recess.

The polarized electromagnetic apparatus consists of a stationary core assembly and a movable core assembly. The movable core assembly is made up of a movable core spindle and one movable core plate attached to one end surface thereof. Since the movable core assembly has only one movable core plate as opposed to two movable core plates in the conventional apparatus, the complete movable core assembly can be installed into the electromagnetic coil, facilitating the assembly work. A pole piece is mounted to the inner surface of the stationary cores on the side of the other end surface of the movable core spindle. The second end surface of the movable core spindle is inserted into the pole piece, so that an additional attractive force can be obtained. This construction makes the overall attractive force greater than can be obtained with the conventional apparatus.

Disclosed herewith is a thermally-sensible overcurrent protective relay, which comprises normally-closed contact means, operation means, a plurality of bimetals, a communicating plate, a heater mounted on each bimetal and electrically coupled to at least one of main circuit terminals for a power-source side and a load side, a bimetal retainer electrically coupled to the other main circuit terminal, a first groove, a second groove and a heater holder having a pin fitted in a through hole formed in the bimetal retainer. The operation means opens or closes the normally-closed contact means. The same current as flows through a main circuit to be controlled flows through the bimetals. The communicating plate transmits mechanical deforming force of the bimetals to the operation means so as to open the normally-closed contact means. The heater, when generating heat, causes a mechanical deformation on the bimetals. The bimetal retainer secures one end of each bimetal. The first groove securely holds the main circuit terminals, while the second groove securely holds a connecting section between the bimetal retainer and the bimetals.

In an overcurrent protective relay thermally operable by a bimetal, a movable contact mechanism is employed by utilizing a snap inversion mechanism. A normally-closed contact is employed with having an overtravel to achieve the reliable contacting. A manually resettable lever is also employed to open the normally-closed contact after the overcurrent protective relay has been actuated.

A structure for attaching to a flanged mounting rail assemblies of electrical devices such as contactors mechanically joined with each other. A device mounted to each of the contactors, for detachably attaching each contactor to the rail, has a fixed hook, and a movable hook for resiliently engaging with the rail, and an operating member connected to each of the movable hooks for substantially simultaneously moving the movable hooks; the operating member has a poriton accessible from the exterior for moving the movable hooks for allowing the device to be attached to or detached from the rail.

An apparatus for mounting an electromagnetic unit on a frame includes a mounting recess at the bottom of the main body of the electromagnetic unit, a guide recess which is communicated with the mounting recess at one side thereof so that it is normal to the mounting recess, and a slidable member which is slidably inserted into the guide recess and normally biased toward the mounting recess by means of a spring supported by a projection disposed in the guide recess, the improvement comprising a stopper disposed in a hole formed in the slidable member, which opposes the spring bearing in the guide recess. The stopper in the hole also serves as a spring guide. The spring is disposed between the stopper in the hole and the length a of the slidable member determined by guide projection formed at the guide recess, the movement length b of the slidable member restricted by the stopper and the projection length c of the front end of the slidable member which projects into the mounting recess is preset so that a&gt;b&gt;c.
